In this video, I take you on a little tour of our 9.7 acres in Cochise County Arizona. We recently listed this property for sale as we have a change of plans! We just bought 10 acres of raw off-grid land in Arkansas! We have no idea WHEN exactly we will be moving yet, but ASAP! I have some projects that I have been working on in preparation for our 18-hour drive from Arizona to Arkansas. I hope you enjoy the update and follow along on our new adventures in Arkansas soon! 🌵🌞

We live completely off-grid using solar power for our electricity needs.
We have a dual fuel generator as back up but rarely need to use it.
We plan to utilize rain catchment in the future but for now we haul water using an IBC tote on a trailer that we fill at a town nearby that cost about $30/month.
We are currently living in Cochise County Arizona but have recently purchased 10 acres in Arkansas! We are making plans and preparing to move to Arkansas soon!

Not everyone is made for the desert. We're thrilled when people come to that realization.
I love the desert, and the dryness really helps my asthma and allergies. The humidity in Arkansas will be challenging. However, Arkansas will have so many amazing advantages, and I'm so excited to be moving there! 💯🥰 I appreciate you watching!

You need some ground cloth on top of rocks to keep dirt from feeling the cracks in rocks up with dirt. You could put rocks on top of cloth and dirt will cover , but you will still have water path down ditch and will not have to dig it out every couple of months.

I have been looking into Arkansas for the past 3 years. Our first property we looked into was in Arkansas. Unfortunately we didn't make the deposit in time to get it. A beautiful 11 acres, had well, septic, power, some fencing, and a pole barn already. Had a beautiful bluff kind of dividing the land in half and at the end of the property were stunning views. We have moved all over Missouri seeking that perfect place and haven't really found it. We have places we miss for sure but not that can't live without place yet. We are currently looking in Arkansas again as we are going to have an opportunity to buy land here soon. We have big plans for our homestead if everything works out for us. I wish you all the best of luck on your journey. Starting over isn't easy not matter how many times you've done it but you get wiser as you go.
Exactly! 💯 We looked many places too when we found this 9.7 acres in Arizona. It was a great deal on the land and I love Arizona! My husband and kids gre up in Arizona though and really enjoyed the 4 season weather and all the greenery when we visited my family in Illinois for a few years. So, before we started building here in AZ we were lucky to find some land in AR! Hopefully, we will be able to make the move soon to AR! We have listed our AZ land for sale! 🙏 I hope you're able to find land in AR soon and maybe we'll meet one day! I know that DD5 said they were going to be doing a video soon featuring some land for sale. I had good luck finding land on Landwatch... maybe check their site.

@@B2GOG exactly. After having Lis pluck a tick out my back and either finding them or the kids pointing them out we do nightly family tick checks and let those noisy birds wage war on the ticks. You deal with it to not have the worst case scenario happen. And to be honest they’re not a that bad. I think some folks are a bit sensitive. Lol.

I could not handle living there lol. I didn't see any trees I saw bushes. No green grass I just couldn't handle that. Views were pretty.
There is tons of green grass during monsoon season and years with lots of rain but not so much otherwise. There are no trees around here except in towns nearby, but yes, all bush around here! 🫨

Try bracing the camera on a stand to eliminate jerky motion while filming.
When I'm not moving around, I have a tripod that I use, but when I'm walking around, I need a gimbal, which I don't have yet. The camera has stabilization, but it only helps a little bit. The gimbal will allow the camera to float, so no jiggling around. I have one on my wishlist, but they aren't cheap, so I'm praying I can afford one someday! 🙏 Thanks for watching! Sorry, I'm new and learning and will hopefully get more skilled at filming! 🤣🥰

Hope the land in AZ sells fast.. it's a unique person that buys in the desert, as I'm sure you know since you were one of them.. I hope it's a win-win sale. I live in Verrado outside of Phoenix... I was working in my garden (raised garden in my yard).. but I could only work for about an hour in the morning before the heat got to me, and I had to go inside. I hope it's not 100 degrees every day where you are like it is here.
We used to live in Phoenix, so I know how hot it gets there, and it's definitely not as bad here since we are at 4200 ft elevation. It gets hot, just not as hot! 🫨🌞😜🤣 Thank you for visiting!

There are several reasons, but mostly because it is much closer to our families, making it possible to drive there for family events and holidays. My husband and kids grew up in AZ, and they prefer the greenery and seasons. We have just bonded very well with the AR community as well, and I love how they really work together! 🥰

I am... slowly! 😜 I have about 12 feet of it already filled to the top with the rocks. It's working much better that way! I still have more raking to do and gather more rocks to keep filling it. My husband works full-time and isn't home when I'm recording usually. On his days off work, he helps me with all the heavy lifting things that I can't do. He is starting to get used to me recording things, but it takes time adjusting when we normally lead private lives and then decide to try and share our journey with others publicly. We also have 2 kids that live at home still. Xander is 16 and Lexe will be 13 soon. 🥰
sorry but the trench will still fill in with silt and sediment unless you had it lined with fabric
@rwg727 This is just a temporary fix as we will be moving to Arkansas soon. We do plan to use the same type of graywater system but will be making it more permanent. Setting up a proper drain system will be very helpful. We are doing more research to see what method we will use, but I do think that the fabric idea would certainly help! Thank you! ❤️

Yes! The land was so much more expensive there than in Arizona! 10 acres in AZ is $15k and $75/yr in taxes! In AR 10 acres is at least $45k-75k+ and idk about the taxes once developed there yet. 🫨
