@@cerealexperiments2196 What I judge it on is the whole mix. If the vocal "takes" fade off too early or don't fluctuate the same way they do in the original song. How you did the reverb etc. Generally I think you have great attention to detail and just your instrumentals sound better than most reprods even if they have their own flair to them.
@@vexrich When songs have a lot of layers plus reverb, I usually struggle because you think you're getting this big spacious wide mix, but it ends up feeling claustrophobic. On Side by Side there's hardly anything going on in the instrumental so the vocal has a lot of space to breathe. I think that's why it worked.

Recently I was trying to get a spacious reverb preset on just a single track and I haven't really figured out the EQ or dry mix yet. Some frequencies clash or stick out too much.

Ok I respect that lol.. also this stuff isn't as technically difficult as the majority of vocaloid covers, but cranked autotune is definitely a vibe
