I can't get enough of the song. It has it all! A great love story, a beautiful melody, and Stephen's voice is smooth and inviting like a magical ride through time with one of the greats. "Elvis, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, to name a few." You didn't have to be there the 1st time around to have a deep appreciation for this Genre. I hope there is a lot more of this style in the future. 💜
This man is going to go to the stars and some. I haven't heard anything like this today 2024 and it takes me so far back to the American '50s & '60s Everly Brothers sound. Possibly even Buddy Holly. Love his giggle at 2:23 here. Brilliant natural reaction. i feel like he only does this during his unplugged sessions. when he sang on stephen colbert and james cordon it was the same key as the studio version
@@_.momjeans_9219 well if it’s in key then it’s still good. Many singers transpose their songs when they play live, normally by a semitone or whole tone, tends to be less demanding on their voice so it’s “safer” to do it during tours

Written in the 80s with a 50s sound released when it was because everything old is new again. I love singing along to it. So talented & one of a kind. Music connected us. I interpreted & felt his lyrics the way he intended for them to be. Haven't been appreciated for my mind pretty much since then.
