- Russian forces have claimed to have blocked Ukraine Army's attempt to deploy reserves in Bakhmut in the past day. This comes as Wagner spearheaded Russian advance in the war-battered city of east Ukraine. Journalists from news agency AFP travelled to Bakhmut, where Ukrainian soldiers told them that they are tired of fighting as Russia never stops bombarding the city. They also added that they cannot leave the city as Russia was shelling all roads out.

The indicators are that the Russian advance in Bakhmut is coming to a close. The Wagner troops will continue their advance and may even speed it up. They will not be delayed even to take captives according to recent statements by Prigoshin.
Now the Ukrainian troops have lost the option to surrender to the Russians. There only options are to retreat or to die. Their defeat is certain at this point.

I am convinced that no country in the world, except Russia can defeat the Ukrainian Army. Frankly the current US army isn't battle hardened enough to sustain the same relentlessness and intensity to make the kind of inroads the Russians have achieved , were it to fight against Ukraine itself. The US would most probably have resorted to full blown chemical warfare by now. I have the most profound respect for the gallantry of the Ukrainian army, unfortunately they are serving the wrong Commander in Chief Zelensky.
I totally agree. Ukraine had one of the largest and most highly motivated armies in the world (700,000 men) and also the most heavily defended airspace in Europe, at the start of the war. Considering that the USA rely predominantly on air superiority to win wars, the USA could not have taken Ukraine.
