As a wheelchair user I'm so fed up of how many inconsiderate drivers block footpaths or access to them. This forces me to use the road, so then other drivers get impatient because my top speed is 4 mph.

From the 20 May, motorists can be fined £70 for breaking the new rules and causing an obstruction.
Obstructive parking could previously only be enforced by police, the council added.
Penalty charges can also be given out for double parking and parking a HGV with wheels on the pavement.
👍 Always annoys me the way some people just disregard Parking protocols. DY & Bus Stop parking particularly problematic and other clearly delineated no parking areas causing inconvenience and hassle for other pavement and road users 😠. Thanks for sharing 🖖.

The really worrying thing about this is that, as you will learn if you challenge this sort of parking, those steering wheel attendants actually cannot see their bad parking in the way that most of the population can. They are so blind to it that they are prepared to argue when challenged. We all know that bad parking can result in accidents and congestion so I propose two things in order to change their attitude. 1. If there is an accident that is as a result of their inconsiderate parking (parked too near a corner blocking drivers views, a member of the public injured because they could not see clearly before using a designated crossing etc, their insurance should pay for any loss or injury. 2. Parking penalties should work like the totting up process in that if you are caught parking badly several times, you should be banned from driving for 6 months.
