For real! I remember seeing this in the theater when I was 11. Blew my mind and nothing has ever compared.

Make the fights more brutal in Matrix 5, Warner, also, make the film about regular people and leave Neo's storyline in piece.

I STRONGLY disagree with people who said ‘Reloaded’ and ‘Revolutions’ are best ignored (I LOVED ‘Reloaded’ and enjoyed ‘Revolutions’), but this scene makes it easy to see why so many stayed so fixated on the first film. Just slo-mo perfection.
I hate it when people say they pretend a movie they hate doesn't exist. It's so immature and it's also a paradox. Because, logically, you'd actually have to acknowledge the existence of something in order to hate it.
I mean, I get it. There are some movies that I wish didn't exist (such examples being _Dragonball: Evolution, The Last Airbender,_ and the _Percy Jackson_ movies). But just because I wish they didn't exist, it doesn't mean they're going to magically cease existing.
For the record, I enjoy the _Matrix_ sequels, too (ALL of them), despite their shortcomings.
In my case, I don't pretend it doesn't exist, I just don't like it and ignore it.😅@@cjkalandek996

Fun fact the colour tints meant deferent things, green was in the matrix, orange was in the training, and blue was real life.

The reference in cyberpunk is crazy when you play as V raiding arasaka tower and Johnny guiding you in " Don't fear the reaper" ending.
Seriously, I need to take a break from game development. I'm starting to see chaos physics and nanite all over. :) The Matrix Trilogy rocks! I love them all!
Reminds me of the DVD I bought when it came out. It had "seamless branching" where it could play behind the scenes footage if you clicked a button. It was anything but seamless, the movie would stutter from start to finish.
I like how he covers himself when he's moving with the 2 little Uzis.

I was working at a movie theatre when this first came out. To this day I can remember people being mad about all the security guards getting shot by the two movie heroes.
To us employees, it was just another action movie, and we didn’t see the big deal.

why'd y'all redo the color? Part of the subtle genius of The Matrix was the slightest green in the matrix itself, and that's lost here.
The original cinematographer came back to redo the color grading based on the original film print. The color grading you're seeing here is much closer to the original theatrical version than the DVD or the Blu-Ray.
Ah. It's nice to know that 25 years may have passed but 1:56 will live on forever 😀

I love how the blue hints at The Matrix Regenerated, the Matrix 5. The script is now on my CZcams channel.
This was the least interesting scene for me. I would have preferred precision than so many wasted bullets. It was clearly meant to be a highlight, that didn't end up as a highlight for me. The best scene in the original for me was the action scene in the beginning with Trinity.

The original theatrical release was what you see in this clip. For the DVD there was a color grading issue hence the green tint, it carried over to the Blu ray release and wasn't fixed until the 4k release.
Warner ear me out. Matrix 5 must be violent, must contain envirnmental destruction, phylosophical themes and lots of guns.

Iconic! The action in Dune part 2 doesn't even come close. Thousands of years in the future and the people still use knives and swords. Why?
Not praising the Dune movies myself and didn't read the books but its due to shields -> "The slow blade penetrates the shield" but not everyone is using shields so guns are also used.
Because energy shields are effective against ranged weapons, and melee weapons are an effective option. Especially vibro blades.
