I bought mine 4 years ago and I was quite overweight. For reference I was extremely determined to get my old body back. Getting off and on was a challenge at first but I have worked out most of my life and I knew I would see results combined with small adjustments in diet.4 years and 40 pounds later I am hooked. I do have some mild vertigo and I have to be careful getting off and on and with certain positions. For reference I have multiple pieces of equipment getting rusty in my garage and basement that got very little use. I leave my TG set up for convenience. 15 minutes on the TG and my endorphins are pumping. I think the right music is also very important. The versatility is what makes TG so wonderful.

If read reviews, seems to be bought by a lot of older people that have difficulty opening and closing the T.G. and that had visions of easily closing it up and putting it away.

Honest evaluation. I do think dinner people that have bought and abandoned other exercise "pieces" are more likely to stick with the total gym. It is more fun t than others and easier to adapt to. Just my opinion though. 🤷

I bought my total gym fit for $200 from someone that never used it and it was still brand new. I absolutely love it and I use it all the time. I always tell my clients to look for used equipment because I can't tell you how many times I've found excellent deals on otherwise very expensive equipment. I found a commercial stepper at a goodwill once for. $70. It was exactly the same as the ones my gym had that costs over 5k! I had 3 major abdominal surgeries in 2021 to 2022 and I lost all my strength because I was bedridden for 2 years. My total gym has helped gain so much of my strength back. It's definitely one of the best purchases I've ever made for an unbelievable price!

I don't remember what I said in this one, but I know whatever I would have said she wouldn't mind. My mom has really struggled and has taught me a lot on the struggles people go through.

I have a really old “Total Gym Pro” withe red lettering. Can the can the cables and handles be upgraded? The cable attaches directly to the center of the handle-no carabiner.

No problems for me opening and closing. It does take a learning curve getting from different positions up and off the machine.

I just started and I’ve discovered that I have to leave the TG set up as I’m a bit on the weak side right now, so while I can slowly collapse it setting it up is slightly scary as it is a solid steel frame and could cause injury if I lose my balance.

Is the gts total gym worth the extra money compared to the fit?

  • @thesuperioraffection4502

I am seriously considering one of these machines but I do have vertigo (BPPV). For me it is usually mild when it's triggered, only 2 severe episodes in 12 years. I am used to functioning with the mild episodes but do try to avoid triggering motions or moves. Things like turning over in bed or sitting up after a bench press set can trigger it. I try to be slow and deliberate in moving my head in ways that can trigger it, which does help. I am wondering your opinion if having vertigo is a deal breaker or just would take getting used to and to perhaps adapt a bit. What % of exercises the machine can do would be possibly problematic for vertigo? Thank you for your time.

I obviously can't speak for certain for you, but I'd say it really depends on the speed and certain positions you're in for exercises. The inverted ones might be an issue, but there's a decent variety of exercises that you might be able to find some substitutes.
