I am very commentary paintative.
i love how forgiving manly is with the game creators. hes very mature with his gameplay and reviews, instead of criticizing or making fun of the games style or mechanics, he just plays them and has fun. and hes played just about everything too. literal horror game god
and when he does give criticism its actually constructive and not just insults(looking at you, temmie plays.)
Love the guy he's a straight gaming legend for playing all these haunted
games most gamers would of been spooked by now
Best thing is that he doesn't make cringy fake reactions, literally only let's player I can watch now that I'm 27
He's played passion projects to hour long fnaf games and he knows how to have fun in all of em
Manly is just a gem, when it comes to youtubers that do horror game content...I honestly can't think of one I like more compared to Manly right now. He's just....great and entertaining.
Not gonna lie, when I clicked into this, I wasn't expecting to learn something about horror game design. But now I have learned that "a monster that disrupts your usual gameplay is more threatening than a monster who's just deadly", and will have to apply it to future projects
The logic highly applies in competitive games too, someone like Happy Chaos is so strong because his gameplay loop forces you to dedicate a portion of your entire life to playing and surviving by his rules much more than any other character. In RTS or strategy games units that change how you approach set you up for can opener strats and dictate the pace. In the FNAF games the gimmick characters were the ones that always ended your flawless run.

You can also hear the genuine panic set in when it happens, which I love. I don't hear him panic often.
I always questioning video games and their “ accidentally fell asleep in __” situations then remember as a kid I fell asleep in a church and got left there at night it was the scariest thing ever.

@@vault-tec8601 A church in particular has got to be one of the creepiest places to be locked inside at night, and I can't put my finger on why.
@@Colddirector it depends on the person but for me it's the idea that its supposed to be a holy place but it's so open with statues or crosses staring at you almost like something is watching with a dim light from the moon hitting the coloured glass panes, and in the end all religions are cults so that idea doesn't exactly help either especially because I have seen so much horror where the scariest things happen in the places you'd least expect it

I love how the Larry Lounge was a peaceful zone. No violence allowed, just dancing.
It's silly, but it also led to some truly hilarious deaths. I was not prepared for the army of Larry's to just be ready to jump Manly the moment he stepped out of a room. That's amazing.

I noticed that the round where you got ᴸᶦᵗᵗˡᵉ ᴸᵃʳʳʸ to follow you down the ladder, before going back up to get the new paint, was the only time ᴸᶦᵗᵗˡᵉ ᴸᵃʳʳʸ didn’t show up with the other Larrys on that floor.
I think that might be a viable strategy to be able to keep ᴸᶦᵗᵗˡᵉ ᴸᵃʳʳʸ from getting you, during that particular part.
Feel like maybe the "Eat Lunch within 3 minutes and 14.5 seconds" thing might not just be a pie joke, but maybe you need to beat the game within that time to unlock another ending or access the basement. Also the random notes with blocks of numbers are a simple substitution cipher where number=letter of the alphabet. The note at 8:35 for instance starts off with "Ying results she says im so close and...". Will maybe finish the rest in an edit to this comment but it's really hard to make out what a few of the final numbers are supposed to be. Someone else can do the other notes, squinting at this is giving me a headache. I will say I feel like all of the number=letter notes probably go together and flow into one big note.
Edit: Okay I tried my best to finish this one note but I'm not doing any more. It says "...ying results she says im so close and pusces me for w...". I think "pusces" is supposed to mean posses, like possession, but either the authors first language isn't English or the spelling mistake is intentional.

Yo, at 16:13 we can clearly see the same room where the pink note was, but now it's no longer there. Turns out the notes are dynamic and sometimes appear and sometimes don't. Haven't figured the conditions for them to appear out yet, but here are all the others i could find (sorted to make sense):

if i had a drink for every indie horror game in the past few years where the premise is that you're some unfortunate shmuck trying to escape from/survive a cast of different characters by learning their unique behaviors and either finding some amount of something or holding out for some amount of time.... i'd be dead from liver failure
this isn't a dunk on the concept as a whole, but by god did this trend go places
I live way up near Canada. Like most places in the US, we test our sirens (tornadoes, etc.) every Wednesday but this Monday was a holiday so things were pushed back a day. As soon as he was eaten by lil Larry, that fucking siren went off outside and I could have actually died.
I love it when the games go something crazy and you hear Manly say "oh my God", also Manly's commentary is especially funny in this video.

each larry seems to spawn in a specific order, regardless of which paint buckets you pick up, and then they spawn on the same floor as where you just picked up the bucket.
basically, I think that you could somewhat strategize with which floor you put each larry on, to make it easiest for you to survive each one.

This game has a really interesting concept, but it could definitely use some polish. Including some code to make sure the Larrys don't party around your door (easiest method would be making their spawns a certain distance away at minimum) and adding a jump button that lets you get past Little Larry. As long as the game can't decide to completely screw you over with bad RNG it would be great.
