Hey man, thanks for the video. Just wanted to ask, after you've submitted the songs for TuneCore approval, the status changes to "Sent". Do they notify you when the internal TuneCore team have approved or not before the songs are distributed to the streaming platforms, whether by email or a status change?
Yes, actually they should by both.
Mine showed ready and not sent what does it mean
@@makalacleek8455 Which part are you referring to?
@@JaceyFlames Hey ... am having the same issue with tunecore... my song is in different languages and I chose English...but they still telling me that I have to choose the language for my audio ... why
@@babtiser9563 Has it been submitted yet? Or is this in the submitting process?
Hey Jacey,
Quick query that's been bothering me as it's my first release.
When we get to the "Publishing Rights" section, I select "Yes" because I composed and wrote the song myself. However, I don't have a songwriter agreement with anyone nor am I a member of any society nor do I have any publishing deal. So I can't tick any of them. What do I do?
Have you registered your song through BMI or ASCAP yet?
@@JaceyFlames No, I haven't. Is it mandatory?
Also, I live in India. So there is an Indian equivalent of BMI and ASCAP here.
But again, is it mandatory to do this in order to release music through Tunecore?
@@simonafullinfaw9730 No, it is not mandatory but it will help you get more money if your music is ever used in any other capacity. You are good with just selecting âYesâ that you composed & wrote the song and moving forward.
@@JaceyFlames Thanks Jacey. Understood.
I was planning to do that a bit later since it's my first release. But thanks for clarifying again.
Sup bro Iâm uploading an EP and have lease agreements with all 4 producers that I got the beats from on CZcams. That being said, when I upload it will the platforms give me a hard time about this? Basically what Iâm asking is where do I upload the lease agreements to or who do I send it to?
As long as you fill out the necessary information when you are uploading your song & giving credit to the producers, as well as filling out the âSplitsâ field to make sure they are getting royalties from your song then you should be good!
Hello Jacey.
I have encountered an issue when uploading my song on tunecore shosing Rising Artist plan. What I did is:
I made my payment first(14$) and I started filling the details after, when I wanted now to distribute the song they Said that with that plan I can't be able to distribute my song, I need to upgrade shosing an other plan, and the only option they gave is to go for the Professional plan which is more expensive.
So I'm questioning my self, making the payment before filling the details was wrong or is there something that I was supposed to do which I did not do?
Please help me, I'm stuck and confused!
Are you sure it was the âRising Artistâ plan or the âNew Artistâ that you signed up to? Also, which platforms were you trying to distribute your song to?
If you have time for this question đ- What if I make and upload my own music video to youtube of a song I uploaded to Tunecore? Will it give me copyright trouble or will I just end up paying me through tunecore for the song being used. Or is there another way to do it?
You can connect through other distributors like DistroKid, but I donât believe you can through TuneCore depending on the membership you have. Only way you can get compensation from CZcams if you just upload it to there instead of TuneCore is through Adsense (you need 1k subs & 40k hours watched). Which membership are you signed up to on TuneCore?
@@JaceyFlames I'm just on the cheapest membership on TuneCore. Mostly I wondered if I'd get copyrighted for uploading a music video of a song I had uploaded on Tunecore. Maybe not since tunecore puts my music on my own youtube artist page anyway? Thanks for the reply!
@@Stallagmite Yes, that is correct so you should be good!
Hi i have a question about uploading with distributors... what if i go ahead with content id with lets say tunecore.. and then whem i upload my musicvideo to youtube after that, i get a copyright
Claim?
Do i upload my vid to youtube first and then register to the distributor? What is the best way to go about it?
Also my music is serbian, distrokid doesnt have serbian language as an option.. does the language of the music an affect on whie distibutor i use? Does tunecore have serbian as an option for language?
Any help is appreciated thanks!
The reason you are getting the copyright claim is because you donât have rights yet to that song (whether itâs the beat, lyrics, melody, etc.) to avoid from getting a claim you would need to register your song through BMI or ASCAP. Also, since DistroKid doesnât allow for Serbian as the language I would recommend signing up to one that allows that option IF your song(s) are not in English.
@@JaceyFlames thanks, do i register it to BMI aftee i've registered it with a distributor or before?

@@Vlade.Jovanoski.Official Typically before you upload it to your distributor.
@@JaceyFlames couls the reason someone would get a copyright claim on their own song be that they haven't white listed their chanel?
@@Vlade.Jovanoski.Official In most cases, no. Itâs usually because they havenât registered the song through BMI or ASCAP and those who own the rights to the song have already done so before them. So I would definitely recommend doing that before distributing.
Hi! Does anyone know how to set our song to be uploaded at only a specific part (for instagram)? For example I want to upload my song's first reff only. My song has already been released on Instagram but it cut out not at the best part. I'm very confused atm đ”
So far, TuneCore doesnât have that feature that allows you to pick the part that you want uploaded through Instagram. So I would recommend uploading your song manually to instagram using such apps as Videoleap or CapCut.
I haven't personally checked but you can probably do this by going to the social only section (- included in the free plan like YT shorts, IG Reels & TikTok). There is a field to choose the time looped and such for TikTok which may used a default for the other socials.
Hey, Jacey! Quick question again haha sorry. Our song is already released on YT and YT music. Are we able to claim the song from there, or should I make a YT account to reupload the audio?
You can only claim your song on CZcams music with certain distribution platforms, with CZcams CZcams, you will have to reupload to your own channel.

Hey! I am reaching out because I want to know if you know about that issue : I am trying to distribute an EP, but there is nowhere I can upload each song's cover art. I can only upload the EP cover art. I've been trying for days and days now, I can upload songs, info, but no cover arts for each songs. Do you know about that ? Thanks!
When uploading an EP, TuneCore only allows you to upload 1 cover art for your EP because an EP is like an album where you have a group of songs. You can always just release each song one at a time instead.
Hi thanks for the video. I am currently releasing my song and I'm on professional plan and the last time I released it even though I didn't write nothing on "Label name" because I'm not signed they automatically put my artist name in that field. Does that mean that I can just put my artist name on that field and there isn't some legal way to prove or secure certain name for your label? I am kind of confused but I'd like to keep that name in that field.
Yes, if you are not signed to a label then you can just put your name since your represent yourself. I would definitely recommend doing so. Also, in the future I would recommend filing an LLC for your artist name and using that name you use to file for it as the âLabel nameâ so you can own your artist name.

Yes, it is recommended to set your song release date for AT LEAST 4 weeks out. So that all of the stores can get the song info. etc. It would be wise to set the time to the time zone that fits yours so you can tell fans/supporters where you live when it will be out. Also, you can claim your profile 3-5 business days after your release date of your first song. The distributor will create the profiles for you. Hope this helps!

Soundtracks and scores for movies, TV, video games and musicals must include wording in the title that indicates the version of the soundtrack or score. This should be enclosed in parentheses. The wording that appears on the cover art should be mirrored on the album or track title.
Examples:
Battleship (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
The Hunger Games (Original Score)
Mario Brothers (Original Game Soundtrack)
Additionally, if the tracks are not from the same soundtrack or this is a single, then the track title itself must indicate the soundtrack. To indicate the correct soundtrack, the track title must include (From âSoundtrack Nameâ). For example:
Together As One (From âMuppets Most Wantedâ)
Contact Tunecore support at this link: support.tunecore.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Donât choose âsoundtrackâ because it maybe is an OST. Choose genre for this song like: Pop, R&B...vv.
(If a soundtrack, it must be like â Fast and furious Soundtrackâ..vv..)

Hi! I've taken down an earlier release of my song, because I wanted to upload it with another cover art. After I click the "upgrape plan" button it always says "Based on your current plan, you cannot release your music as configured. Please upgrade now to complete your distribution order." What did I do wrong? I'm not allowed to upload the same .wav file while my previous release wasn't been taken down completely by the algorhythm? Maybe that's the problem, but I'm not sure.

Hey, thanks for your video. I have a question; I made a song and in the Music program (where I made the song) it sounds great. I exported the song to a Wave file with 48000 Hz and 32 bit. When I play the exported song in QuickTime Player or the Music app (on a Mac) it also sounds great. After the song was released to the stores it also sounded bad in the stores (Spotify, CZcams etc.) :( Do you have any idea why this happens and how I can fix it? I really hope you can help me!
It may be because of how it was mastered. Do you know what program or DAW you used to mix and master it? Also, one of the negatives about TuneCore is that they donât accept MP3 files and it can effect the sound quality when uploading because of this.
@@JaceyFlames Hi Jacey, thanks for your response! I made the song in FL Studio or do you mean something else?
