I don't see many posts congratulating The Kalush Orchesra personally for their song, it's always just Ukraine genrically. Now, try to imagine you have no clue who made this, where it came from. Do you like the song? Does it catch your attention? Do you want to dance and sing the bits you learn even if you don't understand the words? OK, if you don't like rap, that's cool. For me, yes, yes, yes. I want to hear it sung in a translation so the message is spread easily. It is a brilliant cross genre song. So some only voted to support the nation, they don't understand the passion behind true ESC mega fans, let it go. And tell me one person who does not want that hat and those fab outfits!!! I say thank you to Stephanie for making a beautiful boy who used his talent to spread joy.

Regardless of the situation in Ukraine the song and the performance were great. Loved the combination of traditional with modern. Wish every European country would be proud of their ethnic heritage! Even Germany should be allowed of it! Perhaps they would score better.. 😁

Loved Stefania the first time I heard it (and would've without their current circumstances). From a small rural town in NoDak where lots of Ukrainians settled decades ago. I'm so thrilled you guys won, congratulations.

Can people respect that there are people who really love the song itself instead of all the geopolitical shits? My favourite performances this year are Ukraine, Serbia, UK, Spain and Moldova. Love from Asia😊
Of course it’s not a bad song. But any other year it would not have been considered a winner. The song itself in the build up did not have the same hype as other winners but it’s televote outperformed some of the most iconic Eurovision songs of all time. They win will be remembered but the song probably not.

Until this year, all Eurovision winners have been in top 9 of the OGAE poll. Ukraine was 12th. So they did NOT win because of the song. Accept the reality. They didn't even get any of the Marcel Bezençon awards.
Well, this year they was singing about the vocalist's mom whose name was Stefania. They was singing about how Oleg (The singer) was bad with his mom when he was young and how he misses her.

With your logic, there's no way other countries can also get 100+ points.

România merita măcar în top 15 sa fie, daca nu în top 10, dubios cum de a primit doar 53 de puncte, plus ca a avut multe vizualizări pe CZcams. Pentru prima oara în 3 ani am privit cu sufletul la gura Eurovision și mi-am dat seama ca am facut-o degeaba. Din 2019 când a fost trimisa Ester Peony în locul Laurei Bretan am avut mari dubii în privința acestui concurs, dar în acest an s-a confirmat ca a devenit un show în care sunt promovate cazurile sociale și nu cântăreții care chiar canta frumos si produc piese excepționale. Eurovision înainte te ajuta sa ți se deschidă ușile peste tot. ABBA a reușit sa devina faimoasa prin Eurovision, care i-a adus ocazia de a își arata talentul, trupa a compus după aia melodii minunate, precum "Dancing Queen" sau "The Winner Takes It All". Celine Dion a câștigat în 1988 Eurovision și apoi a devenit celebra, a produs nenumărate melodii minunate, sunt multe exemple.
Acum...Nici nu ar trebui sa ne mai miram de ce nu se mai știe nimic de câștigătorii ultimelor editii Eurovision.
Si sa nu se înțeleagă ca nu as fi empatic cu ucrainenii, chiar sunt, dar nu înseamnă că trebuie să devină câștigători din cauza războiului.

Ucraina era printre favorite înainte de invazie. Piesa a fost apreciată de europeni, europenii au votat-o masiv, rezultă că Ucraina este adevărata câștigătoare.
"Ne mirăm de ce nu se mai știe nimic de câștigătorii ultimelor ediții Eurovision" - de parcă a fost vreodată Eurovisionul altfel. ABBA și Celin Dion în 66 de ediții, mai sunt și alte exemple răsunătoare? Să știm cam de când s-a "stricat" concursul.

@@ian-94 Mai sunt exemple cât se poate de răsunătoare (nu sunt la fel de mari, dar pot fi încadrate). Secret Garden a câștigat în 1995 și apoi a realizat melodii care sunt acum ascultate de oameni din toate tarile, trupa t.A.T.U a devenit și mai populara după Eurovision și Ruslana, care în 2004 a câștigat și a câștigat premii inclusiv din SUA după aceea. De asemenea, Julio Iglesias după Eurovision a obținut foarte multă notorietate.

I too love the song. But don't underestimate the millions of refugee Ukrainians who voted for an entry that has become an anthem in these troubling times. There's probably more votes there than any for pity.

they could have won with 400 points. But they won geting 439 points out of 468 in televote...No music should ever win so much points when the competition was so high....And ukraine has so many ukrainians who could vote for their own contry so its not fair.
