It's so surreal that we are still hearing new music from Linkin Park after all this time. I remember first listening to Linkin Park. I think it was around 2003 when I was staying at my cousin's house on the weekend and he introduced music from Hybrid Theory to me. I instantly loved the music and went to buy the album on CD at a store to play in my walkman. I would listen to all the tracks while riding the bus to and from school every day. As soon as I heard about Meteora's release, I bought the cd for that as well. Eventually, I upgraded from the walkman to an MP3 player and would load all the songs on there and continued to listen almost daily.
Linkin Park's music was my first real introduction to music and got me listening to other bands. Fast forward to August 2014, I was able to go to a Linkin Park concert for the first time, which was also my first ever concert. Their live performance was amazing. I wish I had gotten a closer seat but couldn't afford better at the time.
Linkin Park will forever be my favorite band. Their music got me through so much in my childhood and my 20's. The day I read of Chester's passing, I felt shocked. I saw a headline and immediately though "no this has to be some fake articles from some site like "The Onion". But then more and more news outlets were posting articles about his passing... and I was floored. That entire day, I felt empty. I felt as if I had lost a family member or close friend that day. After his passing, I couldn't listen to Linkin Park's music without instantly tearing up. I still do sometimes but I'm able to listen to everything now without as much trouble.
Anyway, if you've read this far into this random comment from this nobody on Linkin Park's video, I appreciate it lol. I hope everyone is having a great day / night wherever you are and just know that you matter and you are loved.

Bro, I just want to say that a lot of what you shared here is almost exactly my experience. The only difference is the beginning part of when and how you learned of LP and when you got a chance to see them in concert for the first time, but everything else was crazy similar. I still remember how learning of his passing rocked me to my core. Just as you described, it almost felt like losing a close family member. Crazy. It just goes to show how many people the band touched. Thanks for sharing. Reading your comment brought a smile to my face.

I remember them saying they typically recorded 30-40+ songs every time they were working on a record. Of course not all of them get polished enough to the point of being good for release but I imagine there’s a bunch of Chester recordings in their files and they’ll probably show some of them on the years to come

Anyone else cry when then saw this video. Im 40 been listening to LP since the beginning. I was in 9th grade i think. Huge part of my life. Hearing chester was gone was like losing a loved one
I remember the underground, Chester's first band. I'm about to be 33. Hell yeah I cried too.

I'm turning 41 this month and have been listening to Linkin Park since the beginning as well. I cried watching this video, his voice is so powerful and emotional. I remember when news broke that Chester was gone my husband saw the news online before I did and he sat me down and broke it to me gently and I bawled my eyes out. Chester was a phenomenal artist and person. His loss was such a tragedy.

The day Chester died I had an English exam where the teacher asked me who was my favorite singer was and without hesitation I said Chester from Linkin Park. When I got home my mom gave me the news and it was a difficult moment because I felt dejected for many days, even now that If I listen to his music it still hurts that he is not there.
My grandma died the same year 😢
I still remember the day. I remember I was home from work for some reason. And I started seeing the news. At first I thought it was a hoax. When I realized it was real, my hands started sweating. Linkin Park changed my life forever, made me start really taking singing seriously and also guitar. I had been one of the ones who would occasionally poke fun at how they changed their styles over the years. Reading about Chester's death, I immediately started to feel a form of guilt, and instantly I saw all the darkness in my heart and my unkind intentions. I cried for like 4 nights after. My hero, THE CHESTER, was gone. To me, STILL the greatest voice that ever touched rock. Ain't nobody like Chester, dude. Truly one of a kind. I wish we all knew what we had just a little more at the time. 😞

Chester Bennington's passing was one of the most heart-wrenching losses of someone I've never met. It still hurts to this day. It took me days of crying to really process it, and even right now, watching this video makes me miss him and want to tear up all over again. We miss you, Chester, and we love you so much ❤❤🩹.
I understand too well. When I found out I broke down. I was being strong when I lost my gparents, uncle, dad, my cat. But I cried for days after I found out he left us too. My sister says it was because I was holding my head up for the family.
Chester’s voice is something you’ll recognize in 1000 sounds… he’s unique and his voice will live forever ❤️
My son is 4 years old, He's named Chester. We decided to name him this after Chester saved both mine and my wives lives separately when we were younger. Chester will always be with us and my 4 year old is proof that it doesn't have to end the nasty way, not if you talk. Not if a light is left on. Chester, and LP saved my life as a teen. I spent my adolescence in psych wards, group homes, and residential facilities. I never gave up thanks to their music. I'm 38 now, and though I'm covered in scars (both physical and emotional), I'm always reminded that I'm a warrior. Every time I hear Chester's voice, I know I'm safe. Thank you for releasing this. Feels like a warm hug that we all desperately needed.

It took me until today to watch this music video. LP is still just so hard for me I cannot imagine the thoughts and feelings the guys in the band have to process when putting together old tracks and music videos to go with them. I really appreciate Papercuts and Friendly Fire is an incredible song. You somehow were able to capture all that lightning and bottle it up just to release it in 2024 for us again. Thank you.

His smile while playing the guitar, yes!!! This is how I wanna remember him. What actually BROKE me was the fistbump with Mike, because they truly were best friends in every sense of the word and I mean...if he had anything to do with the putting together of this video I can't even begin to comprehend what must have gone on in his mind throughout. Joe was probably in charge of the visuals as usual, I guess, and it's not like all five of them wouldn't have a hard time processing it all, but it's different with Mike, isn't it? And he surely did most of the audio work, which certainly was devastating enough. Goddammit. RiP Chester, you beautiful soul, you were too good for this godforsaken world.
Hearing the instruments fade out leaving Chester’s vocals to close the song gave me chills. Please continue to put out previously unreleased music. This last year has been a great one for linkin park fans
In the process of an album, we can make 30 songs, to choose between 10 and 16, so I think there are always unreleased songs that will see the light of day soon

One of my biggest regrets in life is not going to a live LP concert.

I ended up seeing their last ever performance, it was meant to be the 2nd to last, but the last date got cancelled due to the Manchester bombings. The fact we saw him only a few weeks before he died made the news even more surreal, and after getting news like that you can’t help but look at things differently. I recalled some of the things he said in that last show, for instance he mentioned some earrings he was wearing to commemorate the victims of the bombings, and how he vowed to wear them until the day he died. The performance he gave that night, and the things he said, makes me think he knew that would be his last ever gig. 😢 so although I’m so glad to have seen a live LP performance, especially the last ever one, there is a part of me that feels guilty that so many of us were stood in front of someone that was in so much pain, and none of us realised. 😢
@@DiamanteSandsI saw them in their concert in Madrid.. a few weeks before his death. I won the meet wit them and even have a photo with Chester giving me a hug. I drove over 1000km that day but boy, it worth it.

I am joking of course, but i sure as hell would frame that picture and take a picture of the picture to have it digitally and then save it on my cloud and on a separate USB-stick and put that USB-stick into a burnproof treasure. and just to be sure so that it never will be lost, post it on all social media 🤣

1st concert was paid for, then my girl calls me up and says you are sitting down. I was like, maybe what's up, you pregnant. She like no, Chester Bennington was found dead, I than sat down and my boss was like you okay.. I was like, I need a moment. 🤯🤯🤯🤯
