Someone please make "the Pilkingtons", it would be the best show ever made. My guess is that Ricky and Steve has only managed to get a fraction of Karl's childhood stories. Not to mention all of his parents stories and thoughts. Thanks orth82 for this ;)
Didn't he just tell two versions of the same story? I mean, it seemed like it was from two different shows but both times it sounded like Ricky and Steve were hearing it for the first time.
OK so if I recall correctly, Karl first told them the stories on the XFM radio show and then, during the podcast era, they asked Karl to tell old stories again and they played as if they had heard it for the first time. I prefer the spontaneity of the XFM shows personally

Yeah, it's pretty easy to get Karl started with a story, at least on XFM or the podcast because i guess he didn't think anyone would hear it. I am also very curious what his family is like, maybe they could shed some light on the mystery that is Karl. Maybe Ricky could prod him enough to make the Pilkingtons show happen. oh man, please Ricky, please.. Could i get the books read by Karl somewhere?
DaveDangerous74 Eh, I mean those two conversations happened nearly 10 years apart, and Ricky talks to Karl nearly every day and probably hears all sorts of ridiculous things so I don't blame him for not remembering, I'm sure it sounded vaguely familiar but that he didn't want to make it a thing and interrupt Steve and whatnot.

Calico Everything Ricky and Steve make is Mockumentary in nature. There maybe a lot of truth in it all. They maybe recreating conversations that they had in private. But it's not real. In the same way that spinal tap is not real.
