As a dog trainer, I've been working a lot with min Pinschers. Lots of owners have troubles with this breed, because they think due being a small dog, they require little exercise and no education. They can look cute and cuddly, but if you don't want to have an aggressive, always-barking Pin, you must provide it LOTS of exercise.
Couldn't see this without having my eyes getting watery. My mini pinscher literally died like a month and 1/2 ago 😪 she was a great sweet little dog. She gave me the best 15 years of my life.

I had the coolest min pin a few years back, his name was Kush, he might have been mixed with chihuahua too but he had all the markings and trot of a min pin. He was the best little dog, full of love and energy. He died very suddenly of a seizure and it devastated me. Starting to wonder if I'm finally ready for another one of these dogs because they are so great.
we have a mini pinscher and she’s been here since I was like 7 she’s 16 years old now and she’s still tough, she saved us from burglars when we were little she barked and she woke us up when we were sleeping because of her we’re still alive up to this moment thank god she woke us up i love her huhu mini pinscher are one of the best breeds 💕
I have been training my min pin all by myself for almost 3 years, and it's safe to say that I have a very disciplined crazy little girl. Yes she's nuts, but if you're strict and she knows you are the one in charge, then she knows what's up. I love my girl to death!
Yep, same way with my male. If you spend time with them, exercise them, train them and softly discipline them ( which is all the time ) they are fantastic dogs.
Yes! I found it odd they put this breed down as difficult to train. Mine has been so willing to please and attentive, though I used to be a dog trainer I'd easily say my min pin has been one of the fastest and most eager learning dogs I've ever worked with!
I have a Min Pin/Chihuahua mix he is is a little over a year. He is so hyper I can't stand it sometimes! If you let him, he will play all day and he loves his walks. He's about 7lbs but he's very slender. He was tough to house train though, He's a great dog. Very sweet. He does bark a lot but only when something is suspicious. I take him out in public and everything with no problem at all. He loves kids. I didn't get his tail docked because his tail is too cute. haha overall great dogs. I love him so much!
I have also a Mini Pin/chihuahua! she is only 3 months and is so sweet :). She loves to eat and is a little bit fatty. She seems to be very smart for her age
Luis Alberto Flores Robles Yes,they are very smart. When you talk to them, they listen very intently like they know what you are saying Enjoy yours, they ARE funny
I have a chihuahua min pin mix is a perpetual motion machine and super fast. I am very protective because g would get hurt easy. I love him so so much. When he sleeps and cuddles I just melt. He follows s me everywhere and my best buddy i could ever have
I have a Minchi also. Within the first month of adoption, I was told by two separate people that Minchis are INSANE. They also said they are fun and sweet and wouldn't trade them for anything. I concur. My dog is tiny but mighty. He is smart, sweet, clownish and playful, but will try to fight a dog 10x his size. We were at the beach one day and he singlehandedly ran two large pitbulls into the water. I nearly had a heart attack and am grateful the pitbulls' owner trained them well. We all laughed about it afterwards. I've been working on this issue throughout his life and he has improved, thanks to the assistance of my other min pin mix who was not crazy. She was an excellent teacher.
My cousin had a female min pin. She would leave her beloved Luna with my brother and I when her and her hubby would go away for a weeks vacation. My brother took care of Luna when she would come over. My cousin would tell her she was going to "uncle camp",and she knew what that was. For a dog,she was smart, fearless, and a joy to have around and made us laugh, especially when she would eat her food, kibbles. She would take And fling them and chase them Sadly this past November,Luna got very sick. She had an aggressive sinus cavity cancer, that was taking it's toll on Luna and my cousin did the humane thing and had to put Luna down. My brother and I miss her as does my cousin and her hubby.
My min pin is active but stubborn. He thinks he is the king. And boy if you let him can he eat. He does have a case of " I'm the man in this house." And had to get use to my boyfriend. But now he just wants to play. Lol.
My brother's ex-girlfriend bred and raised these professionally, and their dogs had to be kept in kennel cages when they weren't home or that little country house would have been dog-tornado-land! The dogs were let out immediately once they got back and ran and ran, around in circles until you caught them, then they sat really nicely and loved the attention. I'd get two or three of these were I to get a dog at all.
We just got a min pin, papillon mix from the shelter. He had the black and rust color with the tail, ears and coat of the pap. He's is a adorable. His personality is lovable, smart, feisty, little shit aka total min pin!
Stranded in Utah Cool! I just got mine, also. He loves to cuddle and go in the backyard to just sniff EVERYTHING. The only bad thing is that he likes to run out the front door and poop on our neighbors front lawn.
Blue Velvet Dance I wish Cato would go out and poop right away even if it meant bagging it up everytime. He is easily distracted from doing his business by everything! It takes a good 10 minutes of checking every tree for squirrels or other enemies - we have a lot of trees and lots of fluffy vistors. When he finally remembers that he has to go he needs to find the perfect spot. He likes grass just tall enough to tickle his bum or a bum tickling pile of leaves. Once he finally finds "the spot" he has to spin around in a circle at least five times. If "the spot" meets his approval (some don't) he will finally do his business.
I have my own min pin who is actually pretty big for his breed (atleast 15 pounds) He is nothing but all legs lol very tall. Anyways, I love that his ears and tail are natural and not docked/cut. For one I think its awful to do so to an animal but they are also so cute with the long tail and floppy ears lol.
I got my min pin, who was aged 12. Meek, neutred and super old, he just lounges on our balcony like a black smudge on the floor. The best quality are the folds of fat on his back, which I like to gently pull on.
I hav a min pin chiwawa mix. And he was rescued from a really abusive puppy mill tht was just about to be shut down. And we rescued him otherwise they would have put him down. And he is very happy and playfull little dog in our home :) .
"Usually weighing between 5-10 pounds". I bought a show Minpin from a great breeder and bloodline. He was the perfect size at 4 months (tiny) but now he is TWICE the size of a normal min pin. My 1.5 year old male is 20 pounds AND 22 inches tall. He is a MediPin. He is not able to be registered, but I would like to see a new breed out of him. He is PERFECT, not too small (not a rat dog) but not too big perfect for an apartment. Videos on my channel soon! MediPins are the way to go!
It makes me sad I didn't realize how amazing this dog breed is. I was 3 when I first got my mini pin, from my step dad who spent 300 on him to try and woo me over. Unfortunately he abused my poor baby and as a child I couldn't take care of him. It wasn't until my cousin had to take my dog away from my family that we realize what was wrong. He shifted between fat and too skinny, he grew a fear and developed a shaking problem and sadly of all he lost three teeth on both side of the jaw. Lucky, his name, was a very patient and sweet dog even though he was abused. He shouldn't have lived through it, but luckily my cousin takes good care of him now and he is happier I hope to live the last 4 years of his life in peace. Most of all though it breaks my heart how he craves love and begs for it because he doesn't understand that no one is going to hurt him anymore and he thinks he has to beg to not be hit.
I have a miniature pinscher Chihuahua mix and she is abused some how and my dads friend found her on the side of a freeway and now she lives in a safe home with me and my family but she is not active but she does love going out for walks
I have 4. 2 were rescued from puppy mills and I just had to adopt them and 1 was at a kill shelter going to be put to sleep. When they are all napping, I look at them and feel really good I could give them a home, but when they are up and anyone walks past my house, they bark and bark. but they are so sweet. What was I thinking!!! the Black and Tan One terrorizes my cats, so I have to have gates up in the house to keep them separated.
I had a minpin! He was kinda...stupid. Really Stupid. His parents would poop everytime they got scared. Shadow (my minpin) would pee when he was scared. He would also yelp REALLY loud if you just walked by half a foot from him. He would get stuck under the door because he'd try to crawl under it...He was the stupidest dog ever but caught some mice in his lifetime, one bite and they were gone. Shadow was really my brother's though, my brother was the one who cried when shadow died...poor thing

My 11 year old min pin is definitely a cuddler. She acts like she doesn't know that she's a small dog, so she's not really afraid of anything. They make good watch dogs, but overall they just want to be with their families and to make you happy, so most of the min pins I've come across are fairly easy to train.
