I think the midfield substitutes problem of using the diamond can be solved with the Zidane 2017 and 2018 method of switching to a 4-3-3 after making the subs... Rodrygo, Brahim, Endrick being subs for Jude, Vini, and Mbappé and Cama/Luka Ceballos and Güler being subs for Cama/Luka, Fede and Tchouaméni... for the midfield we can keep any 1 of Fede, Cama, Tchou as the cdm after the substitution with two cms... also putting Rodrygo on the bench might diversify the substitutes as Modric, Güler, Brahim, Ceballos all bring in similar things and sometimes we need more physicality off the bench

To break down these low block teams our players need to spread out the field more there was a lot of moments where Mbappe and Vini were all bunched up around each other and even Rodrygo went over to the left and it was too congested to keep the ball from moving up the field. You can have more movement to be accurate on your passes and be open to take those shots at the goal if you open up the field. The team is more of a threat. Our players also need to keep the ball momentum faster instead of trying to slow it down that gives time for the opposition to be back in position to defend the goal. Need faster counter attacks. Put more pressure on the opponent dribble around them faster decision making eventually the defense will fall apart.
Disagree with you starting modric, I don't know if you've noticed but modric has developed this tendency to give the ball away unnecessarily, in the last 3 games it has become so apparent... even last season there were multiple games where he would just either force a pass or give the ball away even when he's not being pressed. Not saying it's happened every single time he's played but it's happened bizarrely the last 3 matches which you don't expect so imo it has made me concerned when he plays
you need to spread the field as wide as possible against low blocks, if all three of your attackers cramped on the left side you’re making defending easy for them my God, Carlo needs to stop this freedom gimmick, we were average at best today nothing to write home about
