Mali match was a wake-up call for South Africa. South Africa match should have been a wake-up call for Nigeria but then Nigeria is Nigeria, they immediately started celebrating winning the cup - not just the players but fans, media, etc. I salute the brother in the middle

If South Africa took their opportunities, Nigeria would not have reached the final. South Africa played better than Nigeria on the semifinal, they just did not have clean finishes, but created a lot of better opportunities

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣, I do not know what to say but laughing.
You guys won the game and were holding the trophy way before even the game started. You were overconfident. You underestimated your opponents. Remember this Ivorian Team came from Zero (4-0)...to become Hero. They were driven, hungry, determined, and above all never underestimated their opponents. Their paralyzed the Nigerian team and dominated throughout the entire game.
    Lesson to learn here:
Never underestimate your opponent even if you think he/she is weaker. Never celebrate before winning. It is never over until it is over.
When you are given a 2nd chance, use every bit of your strength and energy to achieve your dream. That was the Ivorian Team. And this Team did it.

You guys should mind what you say. You should manage your anger while talking. Olu said, "If anybody talks about Peseiro having a contract...I wouldn't release a word from here. God will judge you." It's okay you didn't say beyond.
Your brother, Dani just thought that the Coach should be kept. And I'm indifferent now, even though I believe there's a better Coach out there. Meanwhile, he did his best. Most people didn't give him a chance. Yet, he managed to get here. It's not as if our players had any individual brilliance, those are the things that lifts a team, not just tactics. There are things that Coaches don't teach you.
Yes, Chukwueze proved to not be a good inclusion but if it had worked, we would have sang his praise just like we did to the semis, forgetting that we were just scraping out wins. Most of us are just result-obsessed, we don't see the issues when we win but if we lose, we react despite the performance. Let us be less reactionary.
For Zaidu, everyone wanted him back but...we can't blame the Coach.
For Musa, Nigeria isn't the only team with a player like Musa. Peseiro isn't the only player with a "Musa" in his life. The role he plays.
Overall, he substituted Chukwueze and Iwobi when the match was 1-1 but yet lost. The players themselves looked tired. I think only Ekong, Osimhen and Onyeka had some kind of energy but the latter two still didn't have above average games. I would accept a change of Coach but I don't think everything fell at his doorstep.

To be honest, our soccer game is very poor since the beginning of the tournament..we all know our game is always tiki taka but all of a sudden the coach change the way we play and we keep playing up balls like our players alone are taller than everyone else on the pitch..even tho we got to the finals,it’s still obvious that our game is very poor and not beautiful to watch,we just keep playing like an underdog team from start of the tournament to the finish with the caliber of player we thought we have..goals we record is too small in almost all the matches we’ve played so far since the coach came on board and we no longer play beautiful football which is so bad

    • @stanleyokonkwo2524
      @stanleyokonkwo2524 Před 3 měsíci

Exactly, we were poor from the beginning. But I don't blame the Coach, he had to adapt to the level we have in the team (we have names but many of them couldn't spring two three passes together in the first game and that's not the Coach's fault). If we had continued the formation we played in the first game, we may not have passed the round of 16. The players didn't show why they are the most expensive team in Africa.

All in All the African teams that participated in this tournament are really good the supposed "underdogs" are rising kudos to African football.
The truth is that no African country has performed better than Nigeria in sports and accumulated medals wether you like it or not.

At the end of the day, Ivory Coast got their revenge against Nigeria in THE SAME TOURNAMENT. Simple as it is. Peace...

I think it's time we go back to the days when we normally invites three best players to come and play in our national team while the others are all home base players. South Africa used ten home base players and were able to win the bronze medal. I place curse on all the NFF members and sport commentators including Femi and the Gang who rated Europe premier league over our local league, these are the people who cause the down fall of foot ball in Nigeria today. Nigeria has a style of playing which goes with dribbling and this you would not see in premier league, no wonder Jay jey Okocha made his name because of his dribbles and styles. We don't have any any play maker like the days of Segun Odegbami, Samuel Okpodu , Demaji Lawal and many others. Football administrators are killing our local league for their own selfish interest. We would not make any progress until only few foreign base are invited to join the home base to prepare for a competition like Afcon and world cup.

You people should keep quiet jarey. Piseiro knows this team doesn’t have a midfield to challenge opponents. Our best bet was to sit back and hit on the break to win this tournament.
We simply are set up that way and this is knockout football. The team that plays the best brand of football doesn’t always win it.

All blame to the coach! The player are not machine, fatigue set in due to the coach style of play. It’s so unfortunate that the coach can’t see this and he didn’t do anything about it 😢

Nigeria need to throw all these guys playing abroad and then work with high quality local players.. we can decide to bring the best coach in the world if we don't change our mindset we will not go anywhere. Get fresh local players i swear Nigeria can emerge world cup finals

I thought the results we had before the tournament with Peseiro were enough to get him sacked and I still can’t believe till this day that he is managing the Super Eagles I said from time to time he is a very stubborn coach he thinks his useless same old tactics would work every time. Managers always switch up the tactics when they are not going well but for Peseiro it’s a different case. He should be sacked

    It wasn’t even funny.
    The better team won.

3rd-4th Place Play-Off and this Final just about sums up African Football....total boring crap most of the time.
As Finals go, that was one of the worst I have ever seen.
As far as 3rd/4th Place Play-Offs go, that was THE worst I have ever seen.
Yes, African Football has improved over the years, but going by how shite this has mostly been, it just goes to show how bad it was before.
The only thing worth watching in both these games was the pathetic ott Ham Acting that was going on and was so ridiculous, it was laughable, nearly as laughale as the Officiating.
How did Kessie stay on the pitch for one and should not have been there to score that equalizer, although a nice story for Haller.
Anyone who actually enjoyed this Tournament, outside of being an Ivory Coast Supporter, does not like REAL Football.
