That's looking great 👍 awesome work. So glad we got to hang out this weekend.
Thank you Nicole, and yes it was great meeting the twonof you this weekend.
bed design is brilliant! setting it up reminds me of my Chrysler Stow N Go seating!
I had never thought about it that way, but now that I do, I think you are on point. Thank you for the kind comment.
Looks good, enjoy!🙋♀️😍🇨🇦‼️
Thank you
perfect solution!
Thank you. To be honest, as much as we liked it, we disliked it more. We have ripped it all out and going with an L bed design to give us more open floor space.
So nice!
Thank you. We are really enjoying it.
Hurry up and get done so i can drop mine off for your handy work 😁
LOL, we are actually getting ready to move, so I haven't been able to get it completed. Good news is that it is done enough to be used.
Slick! Nice build.
Thank you
Love the bed build! We are going with 2 trifolds for now, no platform and they fold up to a couch for sitting. First adventure in our Venturist this coming weekend! I am sure our mods will change as we decide what works best for us.
That is the cool thing about the versatility of micro-campers like ours. Their are just so many ways to make them perfect. I can see something like the Venturist in our future. The overlanding option just looks like a great time.
The design looks great. Looks heavy though? Is that 5/8-3/4" plywood? Curious why not 1/2" plywood? How much weight do you think it added to the trailer? Folding and sliding it into couch mode looked so smooth and easy to do. Well done Sir. Thanks for sharing. Happy and safe travels to you both.
Thanks for the compliment. Yes, it is 3/4", I wanted the extra rigidity that the 3/4" provides over 1/2" that I would have to add extra cross bracing underneath. For me, I would rather have a little additional weight vs. the extra bulk of framing underneath, taking up precious storage space. With all that being said, we tore it all out and are rebuilding as a L bed to give more open floor space. Live and learn. LOL
Platform bed turned out really well!
We’ve got our first trip coming up Tuesday so I’m done for now, but have a project list.
We already know the trifold bed won’t work for us , so when we get back I’ll build a platform, like Craig Gentry did in his channel. Instead of plywood though, I plan to use slats. It’ll help with airflow, little easier to install and lighter.
I got LED lights wrapped around the inside a few weeks ago, and just lots of little projects.
When we get back from this trip, I’m going to run a 60” self adhesive LED strip across the back with turn signals, brake and running lights and I need a new cargo rack for the front. For now I have an older one that I ended up cutting off the side rails to make the 3 totes work. It’s solid, but I’m not happy with it.
I had thought about slats to be lighter but decided against due to losing the side to side rigidity and allowing the left and right sides of the bed to twist and slide separately. Have a great trip.
@@GetOutBeHappy Yeah, for your situation I think plywood is better. Ours will go side to side with basically an E shaped frame. So it’ll have a solid back then a support in either side and one in the middle. It’ll run from the back corner to the inside edge of the door so we’ll have essentially a short queen. I’m a little taller than the trailer is wide, but I don’t sleep straight and we’ve laid down both ways and think side to side will be better, especially since it’ll give us a “hall” and under bed storage for chairs and a table. Right now everything is just tossed in there and we’ll have to set up the beds and everything once we get there.
Looks good.
Thank you
So you have to make the bed every time you want to use it to sleep on?
Only halfway. I fold the pads at the head forward, and then when it is in couch mode, the back is twice as thick, and I fold the sheets so they are neet. When I bring the bed out, I flip the head pads back and then bring up the sheets.
how tall are you?
I am 5'7"
Mikey Mouse has an RV channel?
Hmmm...who knew.
Fail 👎🏼
Wow, rude AND nonsensical.
Always gotta be one Richard Noggin in the comment section.
Looking great. I’m considering one of these myself.
Could you measure the space between the roof bars as well as width. I’m thinking about rigid solar panels.
Thank you for the compliment. I'm camping right now, but I will get the bars measured once I get a moment.
@@GetOutBeHappy As you should be. Enjoy 👍🏻
@miamic70 The front to center of front bar is 37". Center of front bar to center of back bar 29". Rear to center of back bar 31.75".
