  • As we honor the contributions of Black people in America during Black History Month, we take on the topic of racism and whether the northern part of the country has any claim to being “less racist” than the South. It’s an issue that Imani Perry, Professor of African American Studies at Princeton University, addresses in her book.

Racism is everywhere. As long as humans exist, there will always be racism, just like there will always be violence. World peace can only be achieved when the human race is gone.
So whoever said, racism isn't a problem in NJ, they come off as ignorant.

@@early161some will some won't it just depends on the mindset of the people or humans u speak of

I agree with what u sayin bit I think that racism is all dependent on the type of people who u are speaking of or even to because some people don't get bothered by racism and there are people who just can't even stand the sound of the word its all dependent I grew up in passaic so for me I was always in a more urban area and would see that most people don't care about color all that much but alot of people have more of the "oh this rich town full of rich people so it was more rich vs poor then racism

@LSCBTHEWAVY yeah, but it only takes 1 racist person to fk it up for all the rest of us non racists. If you surround yourself with good people, eventually one of those good people will invite someone they know through a friend of a friend who's a bad person, so you really can't escape it no matter who's around you. Eventually evil will show its face around you, and the best thing we can do is educate and communicate with one another, show respect, because humans fear the unknown and what they dont understand, that makes them scared, scared turns into anger, anger leads to violence, violence leads to death.
But again, it only takes that one person to throw communication and education out the window and resort to violence.
Thank you so much for your reply. It's so nice to actually have a conversation with a stranger on here with respect. I hope you have a lovely day/night hun. You and your family stay safe and healthy. 💜✌️🤝✨️

We are experiencing it, it's s being forced upon us by racist people. If I'm in a store shopping and someone comes up and calls me a racial slur,is that a chip on my shoulder?? People don't seek racism
