  • What's going on everybody, this is TGA, and in today's video, we're at the National Police Air Service, basically air support for the police but not police officers, they are the ones that fly the police helicopters you see around, but the police used to own the police helicopters now the NPAS does. Poor response from these guys, thought they would've been more reasonable about a guy taking photos of the helicopter but no.

This seems a bit pathetic really. It looks like you're being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative. Isn't the countries threat level at severe or something? So the officer not wanting to be filmed when he enters a password seems very reasonable. You'd probably be the first to complain if they had to buy a brand new helicopter after they let someone film the passcode and set the thing on fire

Mate your spot on these people are complete fools who try to start anything for content other than helping those in need and this guy was blurring his own face and not the officers.

The NPAS staff and security officer should be applauded for challenging an unidentified person that was filming in a high risk area, and maintaining a professional approach when facing a member of the public that seems to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder.
Why not do a video praising their professionalism?
Most reasonable people would understand, anyone that works in or around an airport has a duty to either challenge or report anything suspicious or anything that could be seen as suspicious. You are an unidentified individual filming at the access point to a restricted area and on top of that you refuse to give them any details. How are they supposed to know whether you are a terrorist doing a surveillance mission or if you are simply just making a video about NPAS?
Maybe next time just tell them you like police helicopters and you admire the job that the air service does for us.

It's a sensitive site for a reason. NPAS aren't the only agency based at MOD St Athan. Try film down the east end of the site, and you won't be greeted so kindly... If you know, you know.

Tactical flight officers are very much in fact police, they have come previously from a lengthy police career in different aspects of the job. One of the requirements for the role. They are able to land and fully arrest a suspect if required. Great insight into what goes on at the base though, something we don’t really get to see 👍🏼

Your wrong only the pilots flying the aircraft are non police, the rest which are tactical flights officers are all police officers, it’s the only way you can become a TFO is by being in the police force

NPAS was formed to allegedly make more efficient and economic use of the resources. In reality it was a massive cost cutting exercise. Merseyside, a high crime area, used to have it's own dedicated helicopter and it was constantly deployed day and night. Now they have to share with Cheshire police and North Wales police. So you may as well save your breath asking for air support for a job because it's too busy chasing sheep rustlers in yackyda land.

If they don't want the public to see what's going on in there, they should stop and I mean STOP putting public information notices on the fence by gate.
Also replace fence with a 30ft brick wall.
