Great tool.
Good work, Sanjay.
Thank you, Naveen for amplifying it from your platform.
This is the best thing that happened in the QA field.
Excellent tool and you just provide new information for Testers and it will be beneficial to all testers. Thank you
superb naveen u really give us good exposure on new tools and how to use it.
Wonderful! Hats off to the creator 👍
Thank you Naveen for providing this info
Amazing tool! thank you!
Excellent information thanks a lot
Quite helpful extension.... will give it a try
Hi Naveen! U r like magic Thanks for sharing this amazing tool writing manual testing is boring actually really really helpful
Amazing Tools and thanks
Great tool ,
Will try this
Great video thankyou 😀
Excellent tool and this will actually help us to get the xpath and CSS apart from taking the screenshots and helping us to write test steps . Great job done . Thank you Naveen and Selector hub :)
Very very useful 👍
Thank you so much ji for ur clear explanation 🎉
as always outstanding
Great Tool
I beleive there are 3 basic components of a test case, actions, expected results and actual results. Here we are only getting actions so i still feel it's in complete. This can be used mostly for writing steps for bugs but not for normal development cycle when we want test case handy prior development. That's my opinion about it,rest looks good and something usefull.
Yeah this would be useful for bugs, what tools do you prefer for general test case documentation where we can search through all the test cases
Thank you
Amazing tool and thanks to Selector's hub and Naveen for displaying it in action. Can i ask , if the tester can have a choice to upload screenshots or Complete video for the steps. I am a freelance exploratory tester and the clients require video rather than screen shots, for both mobile and desktop. That would be a great feature to add. Export the video to Jira along with the test steps. Yes, you have to consider the size limit too!
Thank you Sailaja for the great feedback, yes video recording feature is available in Pro version of TestCase Studio and there is no size limit as well.
Further they can add to export directly to JIRA.
Integrate using JIRA api and export should also have a option like "Export to JIRA" and search dropdown should be displayed with all created test case so when user selects an testcase it should add all Test steps with attachment to JIRA further test case creation is automated. Same can be implemented like other tool like testrail and more on
Thank you for the great feedback, sure will add these features in coming releases.
It’s a good tool but I have few pain point also :
1- As we know we wrote plenty of test cases and for each test case we have to create steps separately and have to download plenty of CSV. Like if I wrote around 100 test cases and even I reuse sone steps also still I have downloaded minimal 75-100 csv corresponding each test case steps.
To save from downloading file, you have the copy button in tool and many advanced features are there in pro version which can save huge amount of time for you.
Hi Anna, Thank you so much everything
Tool is very useful to get the xpath and CSS locators for the automation .
But coming to manual most of the times QA team writing test cases they wouldn't have the UI ready. Need to write the cases by taking the user story into the consideration. So it is useful to create manual cases only when the UI is available..
Thank you for the great feedback, sure will try to add these features in coming releases.
Well said . As now all of us follow agile, UI might not be available on time
This will be helpful in retesting purposes, initially application won’t be available so we cannot use this tool…
This is good only if we have application available in most of the projects test cases are written based on SDS where we have just UI design
Is there something like this for testing Mobile apps too? This tool is amazing for a QA
Hi Naveen , thanks for introducing this tool , amazing tool btw,
need clarification on the following :
1. Can I use this tool for desktop applications
2. What is the tool you’re using for writing test cases in Jira
Thank you
So happy to hear your feedback.
TestCase Studio can be used for any kind of web application. It can't be used for desktop application.
In Pro version, we have option to record video for desktop application too.
Its good but we have to write test cases from the user stories not from the developed application
Thank you.. That is the completely different requirement. The purpose of this tool is to generate test cases while functional testing and this helps to get steps for bug reproduction.
Hi Naveen
So do we have any tool which can generate test cases based on requirements
Like example we have requirement 01
Can it come up with functional, usability, security and performance cases
(I know I am like asking too much)
The tool what what u presented already has a gui and we r adding cases to present system, rather than having cases for system which is under devolopment
👍👍
Really helpful will try to implement
One question - What if xpath in shadow root ? Will it get fetch those xpaths.
It's great to know about this tool, will suggest in my project. Just one question- How we can see Expected result also in Test Case Studio?
Thank you for kind feedback. Expected result is always different from person to person. For ex- after clicking on a button you might expect for an element to appear and i might expect a text. So for that reason it shows blank and if someone want to add then they can add it. We will try to add more advance thing in future so it can suggest some option for exp results. Thank you.
Video is very helpful...i try to end to end testing Amazon but it's show only scroll down option only show in test case .... general function gud but end to end it's not work
Excellent Tool ❤️
Question: do we have any similar tool for mobile applications?
Thank you Ankush, it can be used for mobile web application currently. Soon we will come up for mobile native apps as well.
@@SelectorsHub Looking forward for it.
Much needed for Mobile applications as well
Nice app. Can we use this for testing application in incognito mode ??
Naveen sir, i work on mobile apps for both Android and IOS. Web version of app is not available. Is there a similar tool for mobile apps rather web
This is Excellent!! Thank you so much for this video!! In my org, we use Zephyr Plugin for JIRA to manage the test cases. Can I paste the excel steps to Zephyr too? Actually I tried to do that but no luck. Can you help in this regard? It would be a million dollars help!!
There is a copy button in TestCase Studio window, you can copy and paste in Zephyr.
But we got to write test cases before the website is built in Agile framework. This will work only if project is done in waterfall model.
what are the JIRA plugins needed to add the steps i dt see in our JIRA board can you please help me
with it
Naveen , does it work when we run script
Is there any feature to include verification step like cancel button should display... it's just capturing navigation and operation that performed on a element
Thanks for this helpfull vedio,
I have one doubts, in testcase we have to mention expected result aa well like what should be there, what functionality should be there, what content should appear when we click some funtionalty and pages.
These things we will have to write it manually right?
Great tool.
Is the tool available only for Web applications? Does it support desktop app?
Can I use this extension for writing testcases using a figma design?
Hi Naveen do we have any sach tool for mobile application as well ?
Hi Naveen, This is very helpful but I have one question. Can I do it for mobile apps?
Thank you, currently it supports only web applications on desktop and mobile. Native apps are not supported.
Naveen sir its really a time saving but, is there possible way to get screenshot with title bar of the browser.
2 or 3 Dollars is 20 or 30 Coffees for me. But still tool is worth it.
How to capture the screenshot for mouse hover in test case studio
Expected results has to be added manually? Which I mean only the steps will be recorded?
Expected result is always different from person to person. For ex- after clicking on a button you might expect for an element to appear and i might expect a text. So for that reason it shows blank and if some want to add then they can add it. We will try to add more advance thing in future so it can suggest some option for exp results. Thank you.
Can be there any such tools which can write for desktop application instead of browsers?
This is excellent tool, but I see a problem when the UI is not available and tester has to write manual test cases based on the requirements.
Thank you Vikas. That is not a tool problem, that is the completely different problem. The purpose of this tool is to generate test cases while functional testing.
Normally functional test cases are written before functionality is available (getting developed) and those are executed when functionalily is available
I think vikas is asking about that . Ofcourse it's not tool problem but doesn't support this
Do we have anything similar for testing mobile apps?
Hi Naveen tool is very useful but manual test cases we have to prepare before development. So how we can use this tool.
This can be used in many aspects like to get the steps to reproduce the issue, to get the screenshots, to get the documentation while doing functional testing. Don't you guys do the UI and functional testing?
Can we do it in alm
Does it work for other windows for example a android studio screen or adb command ( scrcpcpy)?
Is this also help for ipad or mobile?
Is any automation tool for write test scenarios and test cases? 👀
Hi, Is this tool helps to data extract from user interface as well, like download excel or csv files from url platform??
Tq sir.video is nice. But in tool expected result is showing empty.how to fill the expected result in jira.
Expected result is always different from person to person. For ex- after clicking on a button you might expect for an element to appear and i might expect a text. So for that reason it shows blank and if some want to add then they can add it. We will try to add more advance thing in future so it can suggest some option for exp results. Thank you.
Sir is this available for mobile testing also
Can we record multiple end to end test cases and at last we can simply extract the Excel and upload it in jeera?
You can record many steps as a test case, download it and upload in jira.
Then there is a button “delete all recorded steps” click on that and continue recording new test case.
For multiple test case recording also you will have to tell the tool that from here on new test case start and it will become very difficult in reality to filter out from bulk test cases sheet. So for this reason it doesn’t have that option currently. May be we will find better way to add it in future then we will add that support. Thank you.
@@SelectorsHub Anyways I liked this tool. This will really help alot while writing manual TCs. Thanks Sanjay :)
Great! But how to increase screenshot quality?
Initially it was giving good quality screenshot but that started causing performance issue whenever it recorded 10-15 or more steps. So knowingly we have reduced the screenshot quality to save memory space in user system and to improve the studio performance.
This is applicable for web based application ? can I apply this tool for desktop application ?
This is for web based application only. Pro version has some support for desktop application as well like screen recording for desktop application.
Any tool for test data generation?
Does this tool create testcases in Gherkin format. That will save a lot of time
Currently it doesn't support that, for sure we will add that feature in future.
How can we add verify test steps? Like verify a specific text is there on UI
I see that this doesn't work for UI application having shadow Doms....kindly provide solution for it
Yes it doesn't support shadow Dom elements as of now. It requires quite a lot effort to handle shadow Dom.
From my point of view, this tool can be used for regression testing not for functional ..If i am wrong plz crct me!
is it any way for ios and AOS devices to generate automatically test case
Hi - is there a tool like this one for mobile?
Currently no for mobile native apps. It supports mobile web application.
This tool is only used for Bug reports or Testing when a product/module is available for test. Generally, QA writes test cases without getting actual UI or functions, so obviously this tool is not useful for new requirements and modules.
Ofcourse it is used for the purpose it has been created. If you are a tester then is it right statement to say that you can’t be used as a developer?
Hi Naveen, When click on Test case studio the next page shows 404 Not Found.....Can u please suggest the solution on this.I tried it on Windows 10
Please try now, that time website was under maintenance. Now it is up and running. Feel free to let us know if you face any issue. Thank you.
how to write test cases Automatically from user stories
ρгό𝔪σŞm ✌️
None one appreciate such 3rd party tools in any business. Trust me , Unless it's a small scale start up
Sorry but I don't find it helpful at all, it's missing the expected result without which no test case is complete. If we need to enter expected result manually then don't you think it can be easy to enter action also manually. This tool will take more time. Waste tool. Just for management it's useful tool bcz they don't have to do ground level work.
It means your understanding is wrong. No tool will tell you what r u expecting from the application. It's a Tester responsibility to define the expected and actual results and decide it's correct or not as per requirement. This tool is helping to generate the those tedious test steps which can easily be exported to Excel sheet or you can import it into jira and or QC. If you are expecting a tool will do the testing for you your understanding of testing is not correct then.
Thanks for sharing this. Useful tool in web application testing. Any provision for API test cases ? @SelectorsHub
Now this is called something magical in QA daily life. Thanks for this tool and for your amazing explanation like as usual :}
