This video will guide you through the installation process of the TST Industries adjustable shorty racing levers on a 2007-2014 Ninja ZX6R, 2006-2014 Ninja ZX10R, and 2007-2012 Ninja Z1000. The process is shown here on a 2009 ZX6R but it is the same process for the bikes listed above.
Recently we went back and re-thought our lever design to make it stronger and lighter, and add a little style to the lever body. We revised the webbed cutouts in the lever body to remove more material while increasing the strength. A cut in divit was added to the lever body that will cause only the end of the lever to break off in the event of a severe crash, leaving some lever so that the bike can be moved or perhaps ridden away. The Gen2 levers are an improved version of the already successful design that has been selling well over the past few years. - Auta a dopravní prostředky

That's great to hear. Thank you.
Jeff,
it depends how you set it. The lever action works on the moment applied (force x distance away from fulcrum). Our levers have a variable geometry, where you can vary the effective distance of the moment arm. Each of the six adjustment levels offers a different amount force required to pull in the lever to achieve the same effect. This way you can adjust it to your liking. If you do not have braided brake hoses you will not feel much of a difference between stock and these.
In some people's opinion they do look better. This modification is typically done not to increase the appeal of the bike but to change the feel of the controls. Our levers provide a more connected feel to your brakes and change the ratio of pull to transmitted hydraulilc force.
Thanks again for installing the levers on my 2009 ZX6R that is shown in this video. The levers feel great and look amazing on my bike. Once again you have done it with your great products. I have to say TST Industries makes great Integrated Taillights and fender eliminators that make your bike get that bitching look at a really affordable price.
I personally set mine to have a shorter action with more force required. I use one finger on the brakes in racing. I use braided lines and good brake fluid, always making sure the system is bled correctly. I prefer the really stiff feel. You can adjust it to your liking with less force required.
Thanks. I was able to put mine on thanks to this video.
Helped me out a lot. Thanks!

Just saw this video. Any levers for the 2009 zx14?
does the shot levers make it easier to pull the clutch because for my i cant buy just levers i have to buy levers and new perches because my bike is too old by one year so the levers wont fit.i just want to be able to adjust my levers and be able to pull the clutch in easier.
Would you say the aftermarket brake lever is softer or harder than the stock one?
Amazing. Thanks!
What these levers do is modify the mechanical advantage of the pull of the clutch. You are doing the same work pulling the clutch in that you would be using your stock levers, however, the operating range of the clutch is made easier on the hands by these because of a longer throw. If you remember from science class, work=force x distance, the work is constant so if you increase the distance the force decreases. Therefore, you are using less force to do the work because the force has to be applied over a slightly longer distance. I hope this answers your question.
Are you guys planning on having different colors for the levers?
No we are not going to be making other colors. We only make the TST color scheme.
Ok, thanks for info. I was curious, the levers still look awesome :)
You're welcome
***** absolutely what can we do for you?
found this very helpful
I'm very glad that you found our video helpful.
Dumb question but how do you know how to adjust the clutch? I'm just starting to do my own work and I'm confident in everything but that part. Please help!!
+Michel Ciszek That's not a dumb question at all. I would recommend looking in your bike's operator's manual for this answer. Generally when I set the clutch I have the handle bars in the straight position and turn out the adjuster on the perch until I get tension in the cable. Then I tun the bars to the left stop and to the right stop as I turn the adjuster back in until I have a bit of play in the lever, and the cable is not in tension anywhere in the steering range when the clutch lever is let go. That is my method and I have been using it for many years. I would still advise you to see your manual for the specific method for your particular bike.
Do not over tight the clutch lever, it would bot return in place after you pull the lever. Make sure you keep it loose enough to move freely.
I just bought a pair of levers for my 06 ZX6R that look very similar to this, however the brake lever provided to me does not fit my bike with the cylinder listed in this video around 4:30ish. Is it okay to remove that cylinder and ride without it? The bike works fine that way, but I'm worried excluding a part will eventually damage the bike.
your brakes are probable THE most important system on your motorcycle. If you can't stop effectively you will surely have a bad incident. I would recommend not using that lever.
Stripped the clutch lever bolt on my 2016 zx6r while I was replacing my levers.. anyone have any suggestions on how to remove the bolt?? The levers are on and the bolt is on tight but the nut just spins when I try to loosen or tighten.
If it was my bike, I'd drill out the bolt and look for another one online.. or try to retread the bolt to work on a new nut... good luck 👍
Your crazy oem ones are cast 5finger, these look and probly work better.
I got a 2014 Z1000 and I can't seem to get the clutch lever out. I got the cable and the nut out but it looks like the gray box with the light switch is in the way. Do I have to remove that box too? Or I shld force it out.
Nvm I had to loosen up the piece that holds the mirrors and it was a breeze from there. Thanks for the great video!
Glad to see you got it taken care of.
thanks
Has anyone experienced issues with the spacer in the lever seizing? I can't seem to get it out.
+Christian Wutz I believe you are are talking about the pivot point bearing spacer on the clutch lever. That can seize in there if it is not maintained well. You can soak it in penetrating oil (WD40, Liquid Wrench, etc.), and then you will be able to tap it out. Let it soak for an hour or so and then find a long socket of a size that will clear the lever geometry but make contact with the spacer. You can use a hammer to tap out the spacer with the socket.
Where can I purchase a spacer for my 2013 zx6r clutch lever?
That is an OE component. You can order through your Kawasaki dealer, or find it on a site like mrcycles.com or partzilla
@@TSTindustries yeah thanks. I ordered it off of partzilla. 30 bucks just isnt sitting right with me lol
@@MrDavidchuck whoa...what did you pay 30 bucks for?
Plus shipping.
How in the HELL did you get the Hex head nut @ about 1:06 off??! Mine is ssooooo close to that little black box shaped thingy on the bottom, that I can't get any type of socket, wrench, Gerber, etc., etc., anywhere close to fitting onto it! It's almost completely flush with the plastic next to it. It's nearly stripped at this point from my numerous attempts to remove it.
You can loosen the clutch perch from the bar, rotate it a bit and get it away from the switch body. Then you will be able to get in there with a wrench.
Remove the hardware that hold the clutch lever to the handle bar, theb you free to move it as you will.
stock levers look better
thanks
I hope that means that our video helped you in some way.
