      @@MrWontstopthefunk I bought another Stone and I tried it by just washing it and heating it up to start. Then just used it to cook with, the stone seasoned itself over time by cooking with it. I prefer this method now. I'm always testing!

      @@PAPATexas makes sense. Thanks for the info. I’m in an apartment so in my case I’m using an oven. I heard it is worth while to keep it in the oven at all times to help regulate and maintain a consistent cooking temp whether using it or not. Any thoughts on this? Additionally, I’m interested in tips/trick using the pizza stone for frozen pizza, as that is what I most likely come about aside from take out. I have heard it can shatter the stone? Any thoughts on this or proper oven rack height when doing so? Thank you!

    • @PAPATexas
      @PAPATexas  Před 6 měsíci

      @@MrWontstopthefunk For one thing, I would heat up the stone and then put a frozen pizza on it, that could make it crack. One thing I do, I buy the refrigerated 3 cheese pizza at Walmart Grocery Store, then I add the toppings I want. I usually put the room temp pizza on the room temp pizza, then put in oven/grill. All ovens cook differently, as you use it you will learn, bottom to black? move rack up the next time. We all are always learning as we go. My buddy Tommy over at "The Gallery Backyard BBQ & Griddle" has a lot of pizza videos that you may like and learn from. We all learn from each other.

    Guys, you don't need to season your pizza stone. Manufacturer will probably recommend you don't do it. The pizza stone will naturally season itself with use over time.

  • @scottsymonds1950
    @scottsymonds1950 Před 2 lety

    thats not seasoned at all, you need to keep putting oil to it until it doesnt soak in anymore, it will turn black and have a non stick finish to it, dont use olive oil as its not good for high heat, use a vegetable oil.

    You don’t do what he did. No need to season a pizza stone. Trust me. After 20 years of using one. They get dark and seasoned over time naturally. If you pour oil on it it will smoke up your kitchen.
