I just got a pizza stone a few weeks ago and never knew about seasoning it. Thank you very much for sharing.
You don't have to Dan, it just speeds thee process up. And make a video, lol.
Perfect timing for this video. My new pizza stone arrived last week. Thanks!
Season it up before you use it Jeff! I would Colab with you on Cooking on it but I doubt that.
I love my pizza stone too!! Great how to PAPA!! Looking forward to seeing more videos on this!!
Will be fun to cook on.
Thank you for this!
Sure, FYI, I found it better to just use the pizza stone and let it season itself. Both ways work for me.

Thanks Drew!
Learned something new here...never seasoned them....other than cooking
Seasoning just speeds up the patina process Paul.
Holy crap been using them for years never knew you had to season them wow thanks 🇨🇦🛠🇨🇦🛠
You don't have to pre-season them BADGE, it just speeds the process up. Every time you cook on it you are adding to it.
I season my pizza stone with a 50/50 mix of Olive Oil and Avocado Oil.
Nice!
I don’t wash it first? Pretty sure I have same just sitting there
Here is what I would do. Don't use Olive Oil. Wash it and just cook with it, it will naturally take care of itself.
@@PAPATexas thanks for the info. Might I ask why you decided to change your method from the video, etc?
@@MrWontstopthefunk I bought another Stone and I tried it by just washing it and heating it up to start. Then just used it to cook with, the stone seasoned itself over time by cooking with it. I prefer this method now. I'm always testing!
@@PAPATexas makes sense. Thanks for the info. I’m in an apartment so in my case I’m using an oven. I heard it is worth while to keep it in the oven at all times to help regulate and maintain a consistent cooking temp whether using it or not. Any thoughts on this? Additionally, I’m interested in tips/trick using the pizza stone for frozen pizza, as that is what I most likely come about aside from take out. I have heard it can shatter the stone? Any thoughts on this or proper oven rack height when doing so? Thank you!
@@MrWontstopthefunk For one thing, I would heat up the stone and then put a frozen pizza on it, that could make it crack. One thing I do, I buy the refrigerated 3 cheese pizza at Walmart Grocery Store, then I add the toppings I want. I usually put the room temp pizza on the room temp pizza, then put in oven/grill. All ovens cook differently, as you use it you will learn, bottom to black? move rack up the next time. We all are always learning as we go. My buddy Tommy over at "The Gallery Backyard BBQ & Griddle" has a lot of pizza videos that you may like and learn from. We all learn from each other.
niceee that sucker will get even better with time!!
Just like the other ones!
hay quá rất tuyệt bạn ơi
Cảm ơn
Guys, you don't need to season your pizza stone. Manufacturer will probably recommend you don't do it. The pizza stone will naturally season itself with use over time.
👍
I agree
thats not seasoned at all, you need to keep putting oil to it until it doesnt soak in anymore, it will turn black and have a non stick finish to it, dont use olive oil as its not good for high heat, use a vegetable oil.
Yea, I found that out.
DO NOT SEASON A PIZZA STONE! Especially with chocolate chip cookie dough!
Lol you’re never supposed to oil a stone dude
I still use it but I see what you mean. I saw a video doing it, lol
You don’t do what he did. No need to season a pizza stone. Trust me. After 20 years of using one. They get dark and seasoned over time naturally. If you pour oil on it it will smoke up your kitchen.
Yes, I have learned that. My new stones season by using them.
