they had the perfect actor for the jester. his mannerisms and shape were perfect. making your villain/monster taller (but not skyscraper height) to your main characters so he is physically imposing goes a long way. i like how he was silent to be more mysterious. EXCELLENT!
Yeah this is pretty cool. I had been watching Art the Clown and the All Hallow’s Eve stuff, but it’s just a bit much, kind of feels like I’m letting God down by even watching that crap. But a small part of everyone is always intrigued by stuff like that. But those movies are genuinely pretty dam terrifying. Especially when he sawed a hot teenage girl who was hanging upside down by her legs straight through the cootchy.... all the way down through her head.... extrenely fucked up shit very traumatizing to even see.
I guess that's what happens when you mock the Jester, intentionally or unintentionally. Also the Ace symbol matched the symbols on Jester's mask creepily enough. Some occult themes as well like the orange symbolizing illumination and him swinging his cane like a pendulum in which the cane refers to Saturn's stick. Saturn is about time and judgment. That helps explain why the Jester can look ahead of time.
The design of Jester's mask is simply fascinating, where the eyes should be visible through the mask, they are not there, there is just blackness, a frightening endless emptiness. I love it
This was a great film and well made, but I felt bad for the guy. He still appreciated everything before the card trick. You can obviously he tell he just wanted to get home after working. I don't get why everyone keeps criticizing over the fact he didn't clap. He wasn't rude to the Jester.
I still love how the guy who gets out the car looks like a deer in headlights and just says “You alright?” But I absolutely love this series. It’s become a tradition of mine to watch it in October.
**spoilers ahead** I LOVE these short-films! Finally, someone writes original work...and an original Bad Guy! My impression is: The Jester is a demon, and there are three rules that you must follow in order to escape "unscathed"...well, at least physically! ;) 1. You must have a costume on. 2. You must NOT say anything bad about Halloween. 3. You must thank him/show appreciation for his tricks (abilities) & say so to him...and NEVER ask him for anything!!
I don’t think demon, cause that’s just you know more violent but I was think either like the spirit of Halloween or like the old fey from myth. Mainly due to his more mischievous nature and less damnation and going to hell.
@@Dead_head4565 If the people had reappeared, unharmed, or been able to walk away from him....then maybe I'd think he was not a demon. But he clearly wishes some kind of harm to these people, they vanish & in the case of the third film....were physically hurt!! Also, you must obey his game no matter what. Not the earmark of a good Being. :)
Lowkey the driver was a scenestealer, something so creepy about a person quietly getting out of their car and stand there watching you struggle after running you over. Waiting, even smiling gently. I found that creepier than Jester personally!

I feel like he’s the embodiment of halloween spirit. Creepy but not terrifying, as well as stylish and hospitable. Not to mention all powerful. He respects the guys at the end for wearing costumes and respecting “his” night. But the other guy basically spits in his face as he tries to entertain him. He gets angry at him for disrespecting the tradition of halloween and teaches him a lesson for it. Many people take themselves too seriously on halloween, but I feel like this is a reminder to just have fun and enjoy the dumb costumes and party tricks.
The Jester has just become one of my favorite characters put on screen. The actor, the outfit, the makeup all top tier. Also the DP for this short film, I want to shake your hand, amazing camera work.
the only way to make the jester stop from doing the further action or (attraction) is giving him the called out or some kind like cheers, you could notice it on the end of the film when the two guys made their way passing the jester, the jester offered them a candy and they responded by the clapping and a little cheering and dang! the jester left them alone but the first man didnt do it and you could also see that the jester running out of patience because he didnt receive of what he actually wanted

Those are the only ones that made it into the millions. While I do wish they would make more, I’m not gonna pester them for more because that would be unfair. I will always cherish these three Jester short films.

Now this, is how you make a horror character, I think the #1 thing that makes the jester a great horror character aside from being somewhat magical, is that he doesn't speak, or like he can't. It's weird the way he operates, it's like he's the spirit of halloween, it's all fun and games til you dont abide by the rules, aka no costume and not appreciating his tricks, then he comes after you.

The Jester was clearly pissed when the guy said, "That's all.. Card tricks are fine".. So he kept on doing tricks for a round of applause. The things he did to the guy like tying his shoelace and handcuffing him without touching were all part of the tricks, with the grand finale being his disappearance when he failed to appreciate him. This short film has so much depth and truth to it. The protagonist is portrayed as the typical nonchalant, lackadaisical and monotonous character that some of us become, looming through the days and finding no enjoyment in life and thus we aren't easily impressed. The Jester on the other hand was there for the protagonist to realise how to appreciate all these little things - whether it's celebrating a holiday or appreciating someone's art. I've fallen in love with the Jester's character, he is charming despite the eerie aura that surrounds him and truly lovable in a sense. Thank you for such an amazing short film! This needs to be a feature film :)
I would definitely love to have seen this made into a full length feature film. I was completely captivated throughout the 3 short films and I love how it went full circle. I just stumbled upon this tonight and it distracted me for a solid 40 minutes. Thank you!

How could he have known he intended that to b a trick that's usualy wen u feel threatened, the masked man cut himself, & put his blood on the other guy's shirt that was bad.
Who ever played the jester deserves a fuckin award, not only does he nail the body language but he’s so perfectly menacing and scary but at the same time he manages to be fun and playful
Okay but also can we talk about the detail of the jester not having eyes behind this mask. It looks like its just skin which is so creepy and adds to the valley of the uncanny vibe!
This deserves a feature length adaptation.. original and quality assured this is how horror should be! No cheap thrills, No unnecessary jump scares, No cliched 'Ill be right back' moments! Just an ORIGINAL story, not ripped off and totally fresh! Bless the guys n gals who had the time and effort to bring this to life Art and Johnny support you 😆
I dig your style bro.People often forget the true meaning of watching an original, yet mind blowing(be it short or full length feature)horror film.In light of The Jesters original story, and from 1 horror fan to another...Check out a film called The Signal. Not to be confused with the Lawrence Fishburne film,it's an independent film...Trust me...It's worth your time🙂
I love the subtle dread the sound of buzzing neon adds to this. It's not remarkable normally, but it is here because the only way you can hear it is in near silence.
This was incredible! Well executed, Well shot and the Acting was for the most part really Good!! If only this could be turned into a feature length movie
This was a great short film. I love how the jester's mask had the ace of diamonds on it, meaning that the man was meant to pick that specific card. It was not chance.
Tig 'ol Bitties no, Jester did the same thing to the other people like the first man, (notice the trick he did to the other people was also the first trick he did to the first man) but the others immediately applauded which is why jester made the first guy disappear while he gave mercy to the others
With all the crap being made these days with millions of dollars, this deserves a full length film (or series). Especially with this actor as "The Jester"...... without a word he conveys so much. Classic, brilliant miming, and going from nice, charming and then to unsettling and scary.......so well done. WHERE IS THIS MOVIE?!?!?
Poor guy probably works many difficult 8-12 hour shifts 6-7 days a week just to make ends meet in his small apartment shared with 2 others and in comes this spooky masked f*** face wanting him to APPRECIATE MUH MAGIC TRICKS OR DIE. This jester is charming :) I love the message to this. Respect a jester, give applause lol
Who ever played the jester deserves a fuckin award, not only does he nail the body language but he’s so perfectly menacing and scary but at the same time he manages to be fun and playful
I want his mask lol
p.s I love you too and that mask, and can't find that online I think its custom made.

Jester is a much more sinister joker, but he is also very stylish and full of personality.
More sinister? Cannot agree, Joker is shown to be incredibly unhinged and powerful.

Okay but also can we talk about the detail of the jester not having eyes behind this mask. It looks like its just skin which is so creepy and adds to the valley of the uncanny vibe!

Best “movie” to watch at halloween
This was a great short film. I love how the jester's mask had the ace of diamonds on it, meaning that the man was meant to pick that specific card. It was not chance.
poor Jester all he wanted was a round of applause :(
Oh poor jester
No, he wanted people to dress on Halloween. Which is why he didn't bother the other people.
Iain Mars yah that’s what I thought
Tig 'ol Bitties no, Jester did the same thing to the other people like the first man, (notice the trick he did to the other people was also the first trick he did to the first man) but the others immediately applauded which is why jester made the first guy disappear while he gave mercy to the others
Tig 'ol Bitties no he didn't bother them because they clapped for him
This is something we rarely see in horror
A killer who has something off putting with them, yet can sometimes give a good chuckle.
This is video is to basically show people to appreciate the little things
Appreciate little things or you will be taken away by a ghost. I understand lets appreciate little thing.
Poor guy probably works many difficult 8-12 hour shifts 6-7 days a week just to make ends meet in his small apartment shared with 2 others and in comes this spooky masked f*** face wanting him to APPRECIATE MUH MAGIC TRICKS OR DIE.
No rest for the weary, damn. Let him appreciate stuff on his own time when he has his day off. XD
I love magic tricks, so chances are, I wouldn’t die by him
