HI. here is some info. The tag is used to: Highlight a part of a text with a color, define a background color or background image for it. Change the font of separate words or phrases. Apply scripts to exact parts of the text, for example highlight the syntax of the code, etc. For more information and exercises please visit: www.w3docs.com/learn-html/html-span-tag.html
Nice! Got some questions about this, but I'm going to wait until you start covering "selectors" b/c you may answer them there. Glad the Internet is back up...you were missed!
Question there:------------>>Quentin:--->>> As u said that we can use this property for the inline or block and that is "display:" property so the question is that we have already got a property by which we can easily make the change whether we want to use inline or block , than why we use or need of these tags like span or div etc we just use tag and use the property of display ??? Correct me if im wrong thanks in advance xD
Hey man, no one will blame you for having a bottle of water nearby and hydrating a little. the hard swallows are a little hard on the ears with headphones on hahaha
Thank you for making it clear.. i can now break this info down more for my students! I am wondering if you could provide a tutorial on the difference between the section, footer, etc... I am confused with that and divs along with flexboxes
So basically, the only difference between div and span - is the default value for it's display property? Block for div and inline for span... And if you will set it explicitly to be block or inline for both - there will be NO difference at all?
Well you can use some newer html elements for display, there is a video about that later in the series. But divs are still used excessively so don't worry about it too much.
hi i do this code but there is error. it shows effect of past code(shows background picture) though i have removed all the code. this error only shows in chrome but in firefox it showing without error. i have restarted my chrome though it showing error what to do?
okay then why we have so many different block elements aa p tag , div tag ,means we can achieve all things by help of only one block element in short what is difference between p tag and div tag.
You can use to write paragraphs...I think you don't need tags like div or span etc...but you should keep these tags in mind as you're about to become a web developer..🤙

Nostalgia! I vividly remember watching your HTML/CSS playlist five years ago. I donated because it was so helpful!

Yes. Both are a generic display tag.
You are the Best !!!!!!!

Your accent is tripping me out, bro
You have multiple accents
South African accent, maybe a little dented towards sounding a bit American at times because sometimes people don't understand some words.
