- In this cold process soap making tutorial, I show you how I made my round rimmed soap complete with a peacock swirl on the outside rim and in the center of the soap.
I show you how to make the rim of the rimmed soap, including handy tips on how to measure your soap so it fits perfectly into your circular mold and the best ways to produce the thin rim to prevent any cracks or breakages in your cold process soap rim.
I also give you step by step instructions and show you how to make a beautiful peacock swirl in cold process soap.
I try to give lots of hints and tips in all of my videos, so hopefully, you can use some of the techniques in this cold process soap making tutorial in your own soap making.

Thank you Mag, oooh yes the peacock swirl, it's such a beautiful swirl and not too much faffing about (well you have to wash squeeze bottles) I was pleased how well it worked in the loaf mold, the design goes beautifully all the way through, not something that always happens with a design that's typically done in a slab mold. Do have a go at the peacock I bet you fall in love with it :-)

Thank you Lisa. I tried Tatiana’s rimmed soap and found it rather difficult to get the rim even. I love that you simplified the process. I can do this with the method you used with the shorter tubes and loaf mold. It is one of my favorite soaps!! Thank you again for making this easier to do!!
That's excellent news, yes pouring the thin layer can be tricky. I like the sort tubes as well as you can get your hands in and make sure you've smoothed the join down well. I do hope you try it again and have lots of success :-)

I have to understand everything, I'm not very good at just accepting information if it doesn't make sense. Hey Joy, aw I wasn't around then (well not in the soap challenge anyway) so never did it, oh and yes I remember from trying to plane a slab when I did my soap curl soap, that was not a fun experience. The loaf mold worked really well. I hope you and your family are keeping safe and well :-)
