Lost my best friend in February, Kings X was OUR band. From album one, we went to the shows together and we loved this band together. I'm playing Goldilox at his memorial tomorrow. Thank you Kings X for always being there in my life.
And Ty has used and endorsed a ton of different makers guitars, amps and effects over the years and yet, he always sounds exactly like Ty. As Thelonious Monk said "a genius, is the one most like himself" 🤘
What other band? What other group of fans can sing the song and the harmonies this perfectly and beautifully at any given show? This is why I love this band. They inspire people. They have soul. They are the real deal. You always know what you are getting, -no bullshit, just honest music.

I have never heard more beautiful sounds come from a rock concert audience in my life. They're actually harmonizing with each other somehow. I got tears right now. What a way to honor your favorite band!
I love this band soo much. So much talent. I'm glad we're able to see them in smaller venues but I wish they would glow up and have the type of following that would allow them to play arenas.
Mike Boardley I saw them once in an arena. Opening for AC/DC back in ‘91. Me & a buddy went just to see King’s X. Even back then - we knew how incredibly special these 3 gentlemen are/were.
Feel like I found a small remote island where "things are still for real". The musicians can really play, the audience dare to really sing, the musicians actually have a message, the audience totally gets it, etc. Mad respect to this community!

I was on the edge of the stage in front of Gerry one time.I was amazed at how he crushed his crash cymbals.I mean the impact went right through you.They need to be appreciated for being the amazing guys they are.I will always love them.
I’ve tried to catch them anytime they’re in the NY area. They never disappoint! The love between them and their fans is genuine. I’ve met them after the show a couple of times and they’re great guys to talk to. I’ll always be a proud King X fan.
I tried to share this moment with my mother, it meant a lot to me, this band means a lot to me. She was watching some shit reality TV wedding experiment bollocks. She wasn’t interested and it felt like I was being rejected again. I felt like that kid alone in my room, you build something and want to share it with someone, sometimes things that mean a lot don’t mean anything to even your best parent.
You can't impose your feelings on other people. Your mother didn't like it, and that's it. My mother wouldn't like it either, or even my girlfriend. You come across as someone who thinks your feelings are the most important ones in the universe, and everyone else must feel the same way you do. That is not the case, and it shows signs of narcissism on your part.
dUg has the greatest bass tone in rock! I have his dp-3X pedal from Tech21nyc and it is indispensable to my sound, but man, there's nothing can touch the man himself! What a soul
Man I love, love ,love King's X, have seen them about 15 times. That being said, this happens because Dug isn't able to sing anymore. Last 3 times I have seen them in the last 2 years, he has been totally unable to carry the songs, and the crowds do the choruses and songs like this. It is sad. First time I thought he was just sick, second time I was like "again?". Third time, I am done. Love the guys and seen many a hellacious show, but isn't worth it now. Wish he would just rest up, stop doing albums with a million other people haha and give us one last great King's X album. Been so long since XV
czarpaul01 new King’s X is waaaay past due. Agreed. I too am sad about dUg. I was fortunate to see them many times over the years & have NEVER taken this gem for granted.
I have seen King’s X three times since 2015. Two times DUg has been rather weak and one time he was really on. Also they played the same exact set the most recent time, as that time he was really on.

As amazing as it is that the audience always sings this song, it's still kind of sad to know that I'll probably never hear Dug sing it live again.
I read somewhere that they've switched to doing Cigarettes this way lately, and giving Goldilox the full band treatment once again.
