    The first thing I did to my 4 place trailer was Solar panel on roof, battery box, inverter and controller inside . Loading lights on roof ( cuz animals cannot tell time and sometimes you need to load in the dark) and 2 high volume fans to move a lot of air.

    G'day guys.
    That's one nice bit of kit for the farm. Nice one.
    I might have to look one for the 6 kids as they can be too noisy when we go out in the car. 😁
    See you in the live Q&A,
    Daz.

      Hey Daz. Found comment #3. We'll have 4 pigs in there this Saturday, so we'll let you know how it rides. These pigs act like 2 year olds, so there may be hope for your little ones!! :)

    That's a very nice trailer that could be used for so many things. We have few people near by that have donkeys they are good watch dogs they don't always have the best manners when I was a kid we had a few they all had different personalities

      Hey Pamela! Yeah, we're a bit torn on the donkey. I (Duane) am allergic to dogs, so we're thinking it might be our best bet to fend off the critters for the sheep and goats. I have a friend at work who adopted 2 of them and they seem to be doing well.

    We just found a used trailer like this in Waddell, AZ. We will be hauling our sheep and maybe a livestock guardian donkey in the future like you! We will be putting up a video on it next week when we pick it up with a couple more pregnant Katahdin/Dorper cross ewes. 😊

      Wow! That convertible tack room is 💵!! What an awesome feature for a trailer primarily used for livestock.

    I own a little older model of this trailer. I really like it. I have two horses that I haul. We have hauled hay in it a lot. We can fit about 60 small bales in it. Nice trailer.

    If you transport a donkey in that, would you be hauling ass? Hahahaha. Seriously, though, I love donkeys. They are fearless guardians, excellent companions, and tireless workers. A bonded pair would be even better and happier than a single donkey.

      Hey there! I'm not sure what happened to this comment, but it's just now showing up in our comment feed! We're strongly considering a donkey (or two) as livestock guardians. And yes, hauling ass would happen at least once in this trailer!

      It should fit the bill for what you're describing. It tows flawlessly and we really appreciate the ability to convert the tack room into additional livestock capacity.

      I believe this is the Maverick MAV 13-2HS. I'm assuming that stands for 13', 2 horse high side. So far it's been a great little trailer for us and we plan on using it for smaller cattle this fall.

    Fancy. My neighbor has donkeys... they're almost as bad as guinea fowl noisewise. Actually louder, but not vocal nearly as often.
    But since you're allergic to dogs, they are a wise move for protection.

    • @EdgeofNowhereFarm
      @EdgeofNowhereFarm  Před 3 lety

      Ah, you remember my reservations about the pups. We're thinking donkey for the goats and sheep and maybe some type of honker for the chickens. If that doesn't cut it, I need to just suck it up and deal with the runny nose and itching eyes!

    • @allanturpin2023
      @allanturpin2023 Před 3 lety

      @@EdgeofNowhereFarm- nice. I've noticed that many farmers and homesteaders who get a guard goose fail to spend enough time with them when they're young, and they end up seeing their humans as a threat too... no fun to be around a biting goose.
      Do you know that you're not allergic to donkeys?

    • @EdgeofNowhereFarm
      @EdgeofNowhereFarm  Před 3 lety

      @@allanturpin2023 great suggestions on the goose. Lori is a mama hen to everything on the farm with feathers, so you're really giving me (Duane) the reminder on this one to spend time with the goslings. As for the donkey, I don't think I'm going to have issues there as I haven't had any reactions with other livestock and horses. The allergy isn't severe, but it's annoying, so I'm hopeful it won't be an issue either way.
