    It's unfortunate that corporations and businesses get to call bankruptcy " Restructuring" and are able to default on millions but indivduals are treated like pariahs

      @@deandregipon my car engine went out last yr and couldn’t make payments on a broke car and I had other debts that made it impossible to ever get out ! Process was smooth and easy paid a lawyer in my area like 1600 started in March and I got discharge in June got one credit card credit is thriving ! If you cannot see your way out get a consultation from a bankruptcy lawyer

      @@rickis8252 omg I in the same situation I have 2014 Hyundai sontana I was paying car note on time had 8k left to pay and engine went bad .. so I took it to the dealership I had 3 recalls on the car they refused to do the recalls… so I had call the bank to get it voluntarily repossessed… I told them the car is still at the dealership … I just purchase another car because I need a car I live and Georgia and I have to work.. so my friend said do chapter 7 bankruptcy.. I’m nervous

    I have been paying chapter 13 since 2013 my income is social security and VA benefits I receive DIC widow VA benefits right now am 70 years old do I still have to pay chapter 13 and can you what laws protect my social security and VA benefits?

      If I recall correctly SSN is protected they cannot garnish that from SSN or your bank

    so i just learned that my FFEL loans are not infact Federal loans but commercial/private loans. the entire notion that bankruptcy will not get rid of commerical loans should not apply to these loans if they are infact commercial classified. i am definitely going to look into bankruptcy proceedings if this is the case.

    I have a -$150,000 networth due to school debt and hospital bills that I will never be able to pay back.
    Plus school debt bankruptable. Don't know about medical bills.
    I'm not as pretty as she is but I am in worse shape than she was guaranteed

    We have been trying to find a place to rent and it’s so hard with a bankruptcy keep popping up on our record I feel like we’re gonna be homeless nobody is willing to rent to us at all we’ve look into so many states lost money filling out applications only to keep getting denied can someone help me on what to do any information is welcome please and thank you

    Lies!! I am going through bankruptcy and I can't wait to get rid of all my debts, and I will rebuild my credit with self lender, so I will not use a credit card anymore

      Robert Boggs bankruptcy law is so detailed that it would be best to hire a professional. See if there is a lawyer that can do a payment plan for you. A lot of them take payment as part of the Chapter 13 settlement. Good luck!

      She lost her job, her car was repo, and she was evicted. So the first thing she thought about was filing for bankruptcy. So how was she able to afford a lawyer? She couldn't have had that much money. This sounds like an infomercial.

      I myself paid my bankruptcy in a few payments and every attorney I talked to before hand offered to take payments as well. It's not that expensive to begin with. Alot cheaper than paying a bunch of debt you can't afford.

      It’s funny I just left the same message .. from what I have learned when filing chapter 7 or 13 you are actually working with the banks to pay off everything and discharge it properly not effecting your score at all. Just curious if there is any videos on this

      Charles Davis no you basically pick what your going to stop paying on each month. So if it’s credit cards and a car note but you still want your home you will continue to make payments on your home.

      Most states only go after liquid assets, and or "toys", quads, boats, RVs etc. They usually leave alone the homes, and vehicles, etc. All depends on the state though.

      Depends on the state. Most states have exemptions to protect your home but not all states have them.

      Chapter 11 is for Reorganizing you're finances & Chapter 7 is the Complete Discharge of All Debts Minus one's Car.

    Bankruptcy didn’t raise everyone’s credit scores. Ask those still homeless and on waiting lists and worse, you are disqualified for most apartments and homes, even if you have cash. We chose to listen to financial advisors Brad and use financial coach, Kelly Anne Smith.
