  • Although I get absolutely trashed by the stoppers it was still a lot of fun kayaking down the rapids at Saint Pierre de Boeuf. This has been by far the best white water kayaking I have done with super warm water and lots of places to play. Trying out Hydrospeeding was also a great way to get used to playing in the features.

    This same season, at 67 years old I started my white water carriere on the Durance.
    Also to me, the happiness is beyond all limits.
    Boy, keep this passion and you are a top sport man.

    The first big wave is actually the scariest but also one of the easiest waves in st Pierre de boeuff so it’s really cool that you did it

      Thanks yes it looked big but was OK. The other stoppers did not work out as well!

    Great to see son and grandson on the water. Lots of memories but the kit has changed a bit!

    Awesome!! Dad should be proud! You might try adding some weight to the boat to help punching those holes…and a deeper paddle stroke.

    You are doing amazing! I've paddled L'Argentiere and it was tough and glacial Ice melt so very cold too. I remember the water being very brown and thinking I was paddling on a large cup of coffee ........😄
    Happy paddling Sully😁

      We definitely preferred the warm water in St Pierre de Beouf.

      Normally, the water of the Durance is crystal clear blue with a gray haze, coming from the glacier melt.
      After a day of rain, it changes overnight in the mud brown you tell about.

    Well done Sully! What paddle feather did you start off with? My seven year old is also keen to go boating😀

    • @sullyadventurer
      @sullyadventurer  Před 8 měsíci

      We have been using a 0 feather. The first paddle was for sea kayaking and it was a Greenland on with no feather so we just carried on with a standard paddle the same.
