  • Hey guys! :) You may have noticed that I uploaded and then took down a very...similar video yesterday. I wasn't super happy with the message/length so here's an edited and in my opinion better version.
Very sorry about the very abrupt end to this video!

I absolutely loved this video! I can completely relate to the feeling of suddenly feeling like your really bad at your subject, a subject that you used to think you were really good at. It's good to hear that I'm not the only one tbh.
I might use that standard test on myself that you mentioned!

Hi, great video, just wondering what sort of projects/practical is involved in the engineering course?

We have labs one day a week covering one of the topics from computing, mechanical, drawing and electrical. I recently designed and made a model for a bridge in mechanical lab and recently made a radio in electrical lab! :)

Did you feel there was much in the way of help with regards to making the academic leap between a level and undergraduate? Slightly terrified of maybe needing to change my essay style completely, and I know some universities have schemes and classes in how to do that, but I'm worried I'd be thrown into the deep end at oxford...

I think you are possibly thrown in at the deep end in regards to work load, as you are given a lot more work than you are at a level, but when it comes to what your tutors are expecting of you I have found that tutors are very understanding of how much work/the level of work you can actually achieve. They aren't expecting you to be producing amazing work at the start of the year and tutorials are there to guide you in the right direction when it comes to things like essay style :) They are there to help and guide you and rarely to judge you!

Rowan Morris thank you! More work than a level sounds like an unknowable hell right now, but hey, I guess I'd adjust! Very insightful video btw :)
