Wow, so many people in the comments appear to have driven the Aventador S, judging by their massive statements. Lol.
Let me tell you, I've been fortunate enough to drive that actual Lamborghini for a bit on an event last month.
My verdict? That thing is simply mindblowing!!!

Guys I wrote this comment with a little humour behind it. It wasn’t meant to be taken seriously. Personally I feel like people that buy supercars or hypercars don’t really look at the storage of the cars but the performance. Don’t put too much thought into my main comment

If I have the money I will buy this car over the McLaren 720s basis on look and the INTOXICATING EXHAUSTS Note alone. I know it is slower then the 720s but who care the dam thing does 0-60 2.6-2.7s that more then plenty fast for me. The naturally aspirated V12, combine with the look and the Intoxicating exhaust notes just kill it for me : )

the gearbox is part of the Lambo experience, its supposed to throw you forward then back into your seat when it changes up with full throttle hence the single clutch system,
I think the aventador's gearbox should be like it was originally. Gives you a punch on every upshift, an exciting kick.

Or maybe they are ballers or other rich people who are in shape, so your argument that lambo should basically make seats for fatasses makes no sense. Sure it has to accomodate some larger individuals but they dont need to be THAT wide.

If Lambo could get the weight down to 1500kg or so, reduce the size & update the gear box I think this would be a must have - that V12 deserves better around it.

Performance-wise i doubt it can hold a candle to the 720S, that car is out of this world. But when you look at the full picture (design, sound, experience) then probably
Kaisuke971 nah dude. Ive driven it and the Aventador S is much faster. It is 918 level fast. The 720s isn't that fast. The 720s is just not that fast. The 720s is much more responsive but it isnt that grippy as the Aventador S. The turn in is much better than the 720s. So maybe you can compare them but they aren't direct rivals.

john m dude this isn't fanboy stuff. The 720s is fast as hell. But around corners and stuff the Aventador S is just that much better.

The Aventador S vs the 812 Superfast is a valid comparison : The 812 is engaging and comes with a masterpiece of an engine but, in a northern climate, the 4wd Aventador will always have the advantage on a wet or icy day. The 812 has better all-round visibility and is a less stressful day-to-day option - especially in city traffic. Both are great long distance GTs.

Anyone else think the single clutch is INTEGRAL to the Aventador? It gives it that drama in the gear shifts that a dual clutch just doesn't supply. The shift are "too good." That slight pause between shifts, that jolting hesitation in the note is what gives the Aventador its soundtrack. Why would you want to take that away from it?

I love the look of that interior. I love the quilted stitching. I wish they had extended the brown leather to more of the interior. I don't like the bare carbon mirrors and air intake. With a Ferrari you have a lot more color and option choices. Thanks.

traction on here is crazy, look how it sticks to the road.
I've driven both - the 720S is too refined, almost boring. Fast, but excitement already fading towards the end of my 30-minute drive. Aventador S reminds you that you're in a supercar 100% of the time. Pure adrenaline. Rev it to just 4k at a standstill and your hairs stand up immediately. I would definitely get an S over the 720S.

i think the aventador S is the hottest looking aventador..it's gorgeous, but, the new mclaren 720S recnetly ran a 9.9@148.2mph in Road & Track performance car of the year issue, and on Drag times it ran a 9.9@142mph. so in the 1/4 mile, no the lambo wouldn't beat the 720S.
and this coming from a huge lambo fan, but i would take the aventador S over either the 720S or the Ferrari superfast. ..great video as always.

I'd rather the OG Aventador, I just prefer its front bumper and exhaust. Also feels weird hearing that a Lambo has 4 wheels that turn rather than just two.
They make it sound like it's such cutting edge to have 4 wheel steering, but the Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo had that back in the early 90's.
This looks and sounds better than anything from mclaren or ferrari

Engine mounts: noticeably soft during gear changes.. easily cause for reliability issues. Engines moves alot, during gear changes.

Ever since I've known about cars, Lamborghinis have not been driver's cars, they've been the poster car that everyone wants but can't have. That hasn't changed with this car. It's still desirable.

Nice review. At 0:49, listening to the way the "Plus" sounds, it's evident you need a pop filter for your microphone, even if it's just pantyhose on a bit of wire in front of the mic.
The single clutch transmission is the heart of the car the part of it that adds a little theatre which is why lambo must keep it and the engine is the sole and what is a sole without a heart to back it up.
Love watching videos of supercars I'll never buy....

How does a car of this price and caliber not have supportive seats or an updated infotainment system - something that a Chevy Cruze has as standard.

Having Driven a Huracan which by the way makes the best engine sound in my opinion, like you, I couldn't care how out of date some of its tech is, for me it's how it goes and boy! Does it go!!!, was on my Bucket list, in a way it makes me feel sad, I've driven a McLaren and a Porsche GT3 also, having done that the now Drive slower on Public roads because if I'd had one of the above I'd have crashed them in the first Week!, the only other Bucket Drive would be a ride in a Chiron, but that'll never happen...😟
Lamborghini doesn't make the fastest or the most track ready cars but they def make the coolest...just give it the twin-clutch from the hurucan

Why is Lamborghini only now getting the same 740HP as Ferrari did long ago with the F12? Now they are still lagging.

It`s best in manual mode, in fact way more fun than any DCT out there right now.
Yea, gives a better kick in the back than the DCT's. Not gonna make a difference unless you're a proffessional driver, but the Aventador trans will 100% feel more "brutal", which is what the whole car is about

The transmission is not garbage. It's not much less smooth than the 812 dual clutch but it is much lighter and also sits lower in the chassis.
People who say its garbage are just spoiled little princesses who don't want an ouchie in their neck. Grow up, lambos engineers aren't idiots they make it violent so its emotive. If you want a smooth transmission go drive a Chevrolet spark
No it's nowhere as quick as a 720S coz the 720S has at least 60 more horsepower and is 300 kgs lighter but the aural delight from both the V10/V12 Lambo engines in either the Huracan or Aventador at full throttle is just incredible. More power less weight thank you LAMBORGHINI!
Lamborghini should really allow this v12 to make at least 800hp in order to even compete with some other competitors. Everything else seems on point.

i think in character the 720S is not even a match to the Aventador. Lamborghini is so good in creating drama in their cars .in performance wise I think the Aventador is to old compared to the 720S. however if you combined the two cars, you would have a 812 Superfast right ?.... all 3 are Insane and beautiful afterall.

Ok, so you can spec your Aventador S with carbon bucket seats and writhe with pain after a half hour drive. This is s a GT car; it's not a circuit car; it's not supposed to have supportive bucket seats. You just don't get it, do you ? The Aventador actually has EXCELLENT long-distance seats.

The problem with the 720s is, it should be called a 800s. When you have a screaming v12 with a Capristo exhaust strapped on your back you won’t care any other car is faster.
Ich hatte schon die Chance, den Aventador eines sehr guten Freundes zu fahren. Das Auto musste leider vor 2 Jahren verkauft werden. Hätte ich Geld gehabt, hätte ich ihn übernommen, ein schönes atemberaubendes Auto ❤❤

Lambo seats lacks any useful support, lumbar, bolsters... Bolsters are better in sports seats, but lacks any lumbar support and doesn't cushions for bumps. Always get the comfort seats, or you'll end up with a bad back.
Stop comparing it to the 720S guys...this is a Lamborghini that loves to turn, yet still has the soul of a Lamborghini. That's what they're all about, not about being the fastest
