That ladder system is beautiful. Maybe plant some catnip for the kitty :)
Thanks, the kitty would probably love it!!
Nice plants. Growing great.
Thank you!!
Love this idea
Thank you!!
The ladder system great idea Mike compact space and it movable 👍🏼👍🏼💜
Thanks, works great!
❤️
Put my order in on Etsy waiting for the mail to arrive. I will use half for myself and the other half for my students.
That's so cool Joseph!! Thank you and happy gardening.
Love the look and functionality of the ladder system. Your channel has so much information that I don't even know where to start.... that's a good thing 👍👏
Cool, appreciate that brother. I am here if you have questions so you don't have to sort through hundreds of videos, lol.
I watched you cut & insulate the bucket...Great idea btw!!! But I see the bucket is in a large grey tote. Rationale? Extra water? Keep it from falling over?
To keep it off the ground where the doggies poop, lol. 😎🐶🖒
I love your system. So easy and great for small spaces. What exact variety is that green stem bok choy you showed us? I love spinach but I can’t get it to grow successfully hydroponically, but my bok Choy always germinates and thrives! I might just need to switch over from trying to grown spinach to that green stem variety.
I don't know. It was supposed to be white stem, lol. Looks more like tatsoi. I will try to find more, this one was a mistake.
I can't get over how well the arugula, bok choy and watercress greens are growing in the gutter systems right now.
It's awesome!!
Another great video Mike, awesome space saver!! Have a great week!
Loving this idea!! Do the plants not suffer from a lack of oxygenation in the roots? I am new to this gardening stuff, definitely going to build one of these :)
Hey Paul! After the initial water level drops, never refill completely. I keep it between half to three quarters full all the time. The plant grows root hairs that absorb oxygen from that damp area. Dr Kratky came up with this method of growing. You can find his channel under dakineapproaches here on CZcams. I know you will enjoy this type of gardening. 😎✌🌱🌱
@@KeepOnGrowin Thanks Mike! :) really helpful
You always show the most amazing things Mr. Mike. Moving that rack out front is doing awesome! I hear ya on the shipments. Seems to be taking warehouses way longer to get shipped out. Stay safe my friend and give Mrs. Keely a hug from us. Hope you two have a great week!
Thanks CB. Yeah, I shipped something to Philly from FL, it got to Philly, sent back to FL and then back to Philly and was 2 weeks late on Priority shipping. Gets frustrating, lol. Have and awesome week my friend!. Let me know if you ever have time to chat.
Love your ideas. How do you protect your plants against iguanas, lizards? They ate my peppers.
Thanks. Sorry, I don't have problems with them. My friend down in south FL said they are terrible, wreck everything.
use a 2x12 planks cut in a size you need it and insert sharp Object is big so iguanas, lizards....can`t walk on it
Can`t get you food this may help you good luck
WoW!! Everything looks great Mike! I ordered your new container grow system and have me some Romaine lettuce growing in one now. I'll post a picture soon 🙂
My health lately has been knocking me for a loop, I have Fibromyalgia and it effects primary my legs, hard to stand for long periods of time, so I'm behind on a lot but slowly trying. My gosh the pain sometimes, ugh Question, I'm sure it's in one of your videos, but since I'm writing, Lol, what is your Master blend mix that you use. I've been using 12gr MB 12gr CN and 6gr ES in a 5 gallon bucket. I believe you use less, right! Does it really make a difference 🤔 I keep my PH as close to 6.0 as possible.
Great video, I appreciate what you do!
Hope y'all have a great week 🌞
Sorry about that Donna, my mother-in-law had that too. I know it is tough.
You have the right ratio. I start out with 10g/10g/5g since I am putting tiny microgreens in it. I bimp it up later or if I start with transplants from the nursery that are already established.
Take care of yourself, much love!!🤘🌱🌱🌱
@@KeepOnGrowin Thank you Mike 😊
I've got a couple of questions. How often are you filling when the plants are big. If your using master blend recipe what's your mix recipe?
Every three or four days. Nutrients: czcams.com/video/SaN6Dlf2hCg/video.html
THANK YOU! 🥰 Got my order of the multipac microgreens from your Etsy, \o/ yay! ALSO, just got some fine grade vermiculite in today and finally got a chance to set up a few microgreen seeds, on a terrafiber 5x5 square in the little Dollar Store container. I found that if I cut into the short side of the lid for the container it was exactly the width of 1/3 of those Dollar Tree Shamwow cloths (cut on their long side). So now we'll see what happens. 👍🏿👍
❓ How many terrafibers layers should I put down to protect the majority of the roots from damage when pulled out... so that they can be ready for transplanting into a Kratky container in a week or two without accidentally embedding themselves in the Shamwow cloth at the bottom?
Awesome! You are on your way! You can put a few down. As soon as the sprouts are long enough for a pool noodle, you can transfer them. Happy gardening!
Mike I built a couple of the downspout containers and the Pok Choy grew like crazy. Found out my wife can't stand the taste of it, what else could I try in those downspouts ? We live in South Central Texas near San Antonio. Our boxes are located on our back porch rails.
All types of lettuce work. You may not get a full head, but leaf lettuces are great. 😎🌱🌱🌱
What type of pak Choi
Don't know, it was supposed to be Shiro, white stem variety but is obviously not. Came from China when we had a tough time getting seeds. I got some new ones from True Leaf Market and will be trying those next.
@@KeepOnGrowin ok thank you. I was interested in the spinach like one because I'm a little south of you.
What do you put in the middle of the pool noodle pieces?
I cut a small wedge out of the pool noodle and place it in the middle.😎🖒🌱
Do you have to take them down when there is a storm?
If it is very windy, yes.
how do you keep the bugs off?
Pick them off, sacrificial plants and growing enough for them and me.
@@KeepOnGrowin ugh! But thank you. 😊
