In this video, we demo all 15 onboard kits of the new Roland TD-1DMK electronic drum kit. The kit is a nice & affordable starter kit for beginners, it has mesh pads and offers way more flexibility & better ergonomics than a TD-1K or TD-1KV for example.
You can find more information and facts on the kit in our online shop:

Please feel free to leave a comment or ask any question you might have. You can also get in touch with our service team directly through info@drum-tec.de

hi! can i use my double pedal in roland td1?
Finally i found a no talking demo. Good job bro.
Thank you Frank, you can find several of them on the drum-tecTV channel if you like :) kind regards!
Hey! Can we play side stick on the snare ?
@@sainarayanaogirala5453 yes
Man, Ralf is such a good demo’er. I like that he tailors his groove to each patch - it’s not, like, “okay, here’s a rock beat on 15 different kits.”
Thank you so much Kevin! :) You can find more drumming/music on my personal channel over here if you like:

Kind regards!
One great thing of Roland's drums is the good and natural sound when mimicking various type acoustic drums and percussion, even on their entry level lineups. Cool !
I LOVE IT when a really great drummer does product demos - and furthermore tailors their playing to the 'style' of the different kits on tap. Bravo!
Thank you very much, glad you liked it! :)
To me, Drumtec makes sure that the sounds are accurately channeled and have an able drummer handling the demo - giving justice and proper representation of the product. Keep up the good work 👍
Thank you very much for your kind feedback!
Best video about Roland TD-1DMK!!!
It's priceless how you show different music styles that we can try!!! Thanx a lot!!!
Thank you very much, great to hear! :)
Roland did a great job with this entry level e-drum, adding all the toms in mesh heads and a new rack for the TD-1. And Ralf is the Master!
Thank you! :)
I saw other reviews but it's not a review till drum tec does one 👍🏼🎉
Thanks Matthias! :)
I can listen to this all day
:-D
Fantastic demo of the sounds and great diverse playing.
Thank you very much! :)
This is no doubt the best quality sounds and response for the price range! I'm getting one soon!
You should also consider the more recent TD-07KV:

The TD-07 module is much more flexible than the discontinued TD-1 module, you can find more info on the kit here:

@@drumtecTV Though the TD-07 costs a good amount more than the TD-1DMK.
@@ThaMobstarr Yes, but it's much more advanced (especially the TD-07 sound module), while the TD-1 is super limited & a discontinued product. Makes much more sense to "step up" one level in this case, kind regards!
those are some high quality cameras and high quality drumming! thanks for the informative video
Thank you very much! :)
This excellent recording convinced me to scoop up a used kit of this model in my area, and it's really delightful to play. As an experienced drummer who has had maybe 3 acoustic kits and one digital kit in the past that I needed to part with when I moved a few times, I was worried that this kit's sounds are not customizeable. So far, it has not been an issue, and feel of the kit is amazing compared to rubber pad digital drums. Thanks again for the excellent video!
Thank you very much & happy drumming! :)
Came to quickly skip trough the presets but ended up watching the whole 9 minutes. Great grooves and musicality!

Surprisingly, the stock kits don't sound that bad! Roland finally seems like they got it right on the lower-end kits. I'll forever prefer Superior Drummer 3 / Toontrack sweetness, but this is QUITE good for the price. Also--- Ralf, you're a god.

Was wondering why I loved kit 10 so much when I just got this drum kit, literally named acoustic kit 😂
your name made me laugh. You are an interesting character.
Ok seeing u in action made me want this
:-D thank you, that's great to hear!
Ok... Sold.
Im convinced.
amazing drumming ralph!😍
Thank you very much Frank! :)
I'm a guitar player/drummer. I don't like fussing with programming drums when I could just play them more easily. Would this be a good studio option, or do you recommend a slightly better, or particular kit? Thank you!!! You've totally sold me on the realistic sound of these with your playing. Absolutely stellar!
Andygogo Comics well i think it totally depends on your budget. But id look into some other roland kits for professional studio equipment. Have you already got one in the last couple months?
Thank you very much for your kind feedback, great to hear! :) if you step up to the Roland TD-17 based kits (TD-17KV or even TD-17KVX), you'll get much more flexibility, better sounds & playability, bigger pads etc:

Hello. Awesome video. Thanks. Hope you can help me with a doubt I have. Reading thee manual, I see that the either headphones/line output is a stereo out, but is it truly stereo? I mean, are the sounds paned across the stereo field? Do you hear the hihat more on the right side and the ride more on the left side and that kind of thing? Or is it just dual mono and everything is the same in both headphones? Thank you very much!
Yo la tengo. No toco como el baterista del video.La recomiendo, sonido excelente.Básico para principiantes.
Can it be use with behringer for daw recording?

you think this is good for a beginner on drums? i been playing congas, bongos, cajones ect... since i was 5 but i never could really practice the drums since they was to loud for the area that i lived in (had to get rid of a DDrums set because they called the police on me a few times trying to practice lol) but i wanna get a electric set so i can put my headphones and jam away
Can you play (soft) rimshots on the snare with this kit?
🥂HAPPY NEW YEAR 2020 🥂
Hi, two questions on mind,
Does this kit support or have 'cross-stick'? Also, is it possible to customise the drum set, or are we only limited to using the preset kits that have been coded in the kit? (i.e. Use everything from the STANDARD kit, but have the Ride from the FIBRE kit?)
only on the reggae kit
great drumming, can you do any custom stuff on this kit like assigning different sounds to each pad? also can you midi a Roland SPD SX with this kit?
Thank you Tim! Unfortunately the TD-1 module is very unflexible & only has its 15 onboard kits. You cannot edit / change anything, you would have to step up to a TD-17 to do so. Kind regards!
Is it possible, if you get this drum set to later add a higher end Roland Sound Module like the TD 25 or something? Also are you limited to just the 15 presets? Or can you customize by using some sounds from each preset?
Hey CTF, yes it's possible to upgrade the module later on. However, the tom pads are only mono which means you can't trigger the rim. The TD-1 module offers no further editing. In that case it would make sense to get the TD-17-L drum-tec Edition for only slightly more money, but with way more power: www.drum-tec.com/roland-td-17kv-l-drum-tec-mesh-edition-with-live-sound-edition
can you connect this drum set to a drumsoftware like addictive drums or steven slate? and assign different drumk kits?
is that the sound coming through your headphones? if so then which are u using? im using an old pair for my pc i had and the volume is too low. also on some kits the bassdrum does nothing. the housekit bass comes out the floortom for some reason etc. i just got it and im not sure how to properly use it. it sounds like shit for besides some toms, snares and cymbals here and there.
I think I will buy this set
You might also consider the TD-07KV, which has recently replaced the discontinued TD-1DMK:
czcams.com/video/PNzHRh1zMcM/video.html
www.drum-tec.com/roland-td-07kv-v-drums-set
The TD-07 module is much more advanced than the very limited TD-1 and sounds more natural also in my opinion. Kind regards!
Sounds great ! I was wondering in which drumkits playing crosstick is possible ? Is it just in the reggae-kit ?
Unfortunately the TD-1 is not very flexible, so there's only cross stick on the reggae kit as far as I remember. You might check out the more recent TD-07 kits, they are more advanced & replaced the TD-1. Kind regards!
Hi, I was looking at getting my first drum set and I was considering this model. Would you recommend this or another model? Is it better to have larger pads to start? I know this model has small snare and toms compared to some other kits. Which other model is similar to an acoustic set (I.e. easier to transition in the future)? Thanks!
Hey Alex, the TD-1DMK is quite ok, especially for the low price. If you have the chance, I would suggest to move up one step & get a TD-17 based kit for more flexibility & better/bigger pads:
www.drum-tec.com/roland-td-17kv-l-drum-tec-edition-with-live-sound-edition
Kind regards!
drumtecTV Thanks!
Hi, first of all you are an amazing drummer and i have had a great conversation with you from two years ago and now i have this drums because of you. ❤️
I want to ask two questions please,
1) what was the sensitivity of the pads when you recorded this video ?
2) was this sounds recorded with an audio interface ?
Thanks a lot ❤️
Thank you so much Youssef! As far as I remember (it's been a while since the production of this video), all trigger settings were pretty much out-of-the-box without any changes.
I used a Y-cable like this for the headphone output & connected this to my audio interface, which was hooked up to a Macbook Pro running Logic Pro Audio as DAW:

Hey guys, I'm thinking to get this kit, I'm an intermediate drummer and I plan to use this kit to practice when I'm not able to do it on the acoustic kit due to noise issues, and also record songs using a daw, however, I recently noticed the td-07kv es very close on the price and apparently has some higher level features. Would you recommend spending a little bit more and get the td-07kv instead?
How's the response from kick pad compared to a kick tower?
I just bought my son a td 11 for $120 similar way this is set up except only came with one cy-5 and one cy-13 ride. All mesh. And I don’t know if it’s because i got it for a steal of a deal but I have it set up in front of my upgraded td17kvx and the smaller td11 is way more fun to play.
Amazing drumming! I am seriously considering buying this one. Just wondering if the snare has the rimshot option?
Thank you! The snare has dual zone functionality generally speaking, do you mean rim shot or cross stick? I think most of the kits have a rim shot sound assigned to the rim trigger, only a few have a cross stick sound. The TD-1 module is not very flexible in terms of trigger settings / sounds unfortunately, you might want to consider stepping up another level to the TD-17 based kits, which are way more advanced:
www.drum-tec.com/sets/roland?p=1
If you need any further help, please don´t hesitate to get in touch through service@drum-tec.de! Kind regards
@@drumtecTV Thanks for the reply! I think I'm talking about the rim shot. I'm very new to drumming so not entirely sure about the difference between the two.
Is this a goodstarter kit?
What's different with td1 kpx2?
How portable is it?
So i can hook this kit up do an interface with an instrument cable to record?
Can this set do cross sticking?
Hey dude, do you know if the lemon lehhc12 is compatible with the Roland td1dmk?

Thanks for the demo. I wonder how does it feel compare to td 17kv? I’m recently in the market for a drum set but am a beginner so not sure if I need all those 50 kits out of 17kv for the extra hundreds of bucks.
Hi, TD-17kv is a much more advanced drum module, not only in terms of the onboard kit quantity. It comes with way better triggering & editing possibilities, and more authentic playability/sounds. The TD-1 module basically is a "stripped down" TD-11 module with very limited basic functions & sounds. Have you had a look at the TD-17KVL drum-tec edition:
www.drum-tec.com/roland-td-17kv-l-drum-tec-mesh-edition-with-live-sound-edition
Another alternative would be the upgraded TD-1DMK drum-tec edition (upgraded pad configuration):

Hi Ralf. Very cool demo. I was wondering of the longevity of this kit knowing that it's been a few years of launching. Will there be any long term issue I need to worry about? Spare parts perhaps? Or updating any software? Thanks man.
I'd suggest to look at the more recent TD-07 kits, especially the TD-07 module is so much better & more flexible than the TD-1.

Hi! I need help on this one. I'm picking between the Alesis Surge Mesh Kit that's priced at around 549$ and this Roland Kit for 600$. Which is better in the long run?
This one. Lol
Hey guys, great video. Could you tell me how did you manage to record the module's own kits? So far, I can only record through Ezdrummer, with Ezdrummer's kits.
You can use something like an iRig which will directly connect it to the aux cable or you can use Audacity.
