    New to your channel; I really like your delivery style! You touch on great points throughout the craft without getting lost in the weeds of ‘spec’ minutiae. I’ve actually saved your video fo further exploration of the Sea Ray SLX 400. Thank You!

    While I am familiar with a Sunray 27, been on a 33, and once on a 63 express...this looks incredible

    I do like the creativity when it comes to seating that can swivel etc. Nice use of that. This is a good "warm water" boat...say Florida. But up in the PNW not so much.

    It's an open bow with a huge cuddy cabin with a v berth and mid berth , now that is really nice innovation
    3 450rs would give it great performance but 50mph with 300s is fine

      If you have to ask, then you can’t afford the boat.

    Wow, not bad at all...great weekender. 4-day weekender? I'm down!

    • @blewyd
      @blewyd Před 3 lety

      I would say more of a really big day boat that you can spend the night on or hide in the rain. Weekender is probably more of an express cruiser

    Hi Capt Steve, I have a question. Do you think its a good boat to take it to the sand bar? I know the draft is around 1m/trim down and 80cm/trim up. Which means I should not take it too shallow. But at the sand bar you want to be able to still stand in the water right off the boat. Do you think this is some kind of boat that can do it? Or should I just buy a small less draft one?

      @stevec3537 Před 3 lety

      I see them at the sandbar in my area. Looks like they are having a great time! And, as you say, the water is about chest deep where they anchor.

    One change Steve was moving to the Mercury V/8 300'S absolutely love the motor but wrong application for this boat. Underpowered to say the least. With the weight and all other configurations this boat needs to go back to the 400 in line six or at a minimum the new 360 that is coming out. By the time you bottom paint this boat -- it will be a real looser as far as performance goes. Frankly this is way overpriced there are much better buys then this out there,

      It can be ordered with triple 400 Verado engines. Adds about $26k to the price tag according to the SeaRay website.

      @stevec3537 Před 3 lety +1

      On what do you base your assumption? Capt Steve's performance test shows it will run over 50 mph, on plane under 5 seconds. That's pretty good performance in my book... with the 300s.

      Microwave down in the cabin too. Have some casseroles or dishes precooked at home then warm them up in the microwave.
