Luciano once said â Meyer understood the Italian brain almost better than I did, thatâs why I made him my consigliere, I used to tell him that he may have had a Jewish mother but he must have been wet nursed by a Italian.â
Same for me! I always correct people- " I'm not from Brighton Beach, I'm from Kew Gardens/Ozone Park. It's so NOT the same! " đ€Ł
Meyer used to bring little gifts to my mother in Miami Beach. Much respect for the Lansky family. Thank you đ Michael and Mr Lansky. It's been a pleasure and an honor to see you both.
Harvey Keitel should be mentioned in ANY conversation with Brando, Pacino, De Niro, or anyone else. One of the GREATEST ACTORS EVER!!!
Not to mention his role as Angelo Bruno in The Irishman
Mean streets , Mr White, Mr wolf , clockers etc...
Defines New York
Of course Reservoir Dogs
Also Pulp Fiction
Meyer Lansky has to be one of the most mysterious character in a mob world!
Harvey Kietel did such a good job! It was great seeing him in one last mob role.
One of the best movies I've seen in years. That's how bad Hollywood has become. This movie had originality charisma and kept me involved. This is a movie i could watch over and over.
"Old man yelling at clouds"
My sincere gratitude goes to Meyer for joining in on this video. To hear about Meyer Sr. from a family member is priceless. In addition, my respect to you Michael as Meyer.
Did you ever ask Meyer II how it feels to have the same name as his Grandfather? He was such a formidable figure.
Genetics are amazing lol. He resembles his grandfather very much so. I like how he said enough without saying too much. A lesson some people could learn in this generation times have really have changed.
Awesome review Meyer lansky is one of the iconic mobsters.
@@michaelfranzese donât mention it you got great interviews !
Just recently found out about this channel Mr. Franzese, always fascinated about that change of lifestyle of yours. I'm from Greece, but have an uncle who run a restaurant in Brooklyn. He shut it down, full of Chinese and Puerto Ricans down there nowadays. Any stories about you interacting with the Greek community in NY? God bless you and your beautiful family
For anyone who hadn't already seen it, there is a 1971 interview with the real Meyer Lansky when he was in Israel trying to get citizenship there. It's on CZcams. He has a rich baritone voice.
like the voice from his nephew?
Israel turned him away even though he gave them millions $ for weapons.
Dying for a country halfway around the world. Our politicians worry more about Middle Eastern borders than our own. We also send $3.8 billion to Israel every year and they get free health care, do we nope. All this Iran and Syria nonsense is Israel's problem not ours. Trump actually wanted to get our troops out of Syria but the deep state was undermining him. Now old Joe is sending more troops over there.
Maybe your government cares more about being able to do business, including arms sales, with these countries than it does about the lives of your military.
@@paultaylor7059 on 9/10/2001 Rumsfeld announced $3 trillion vanished from the Pentagon. The next day it was hit in the accounting dept. The video is still up. They stopped talking about it after the day after. Trump said Saudi Arabia was involved in the trade center attack.
I would like to thank Meyer Lansky for the crucial help he gave to Israel in 1947.
CORRECT!
A sit down with Harvey Keitel, boy that would be something.
He couldnât get him on lol
Looking forward to this sit down and movie review. Big fan of you, Michael.
Did the family get any of that money
Many years ago I met Meyers Grandson when he was a bartender in a casino. That namebadge, Meyer Lansky, blew my mind. I told him I met his granddad one day at the Eden Roc in Miami Beach when he was at a cabana playing pinochle with my employer at the time, Max Rubenstein. Time flies in a small world. Meyer I was the genius behind IT ALL.
Just because you met an old Lansky doesnt make him the genius behind it all.....it was a mob of gangsters who formed a group to stop fighting with each other...without the Italians it would never have been...
@@chanang453 God will not be mocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We stayed at the Eden Roc every year and I met Lansky but didnât know who he was. He played jin with all the owners of car dealerships like Don Rosen etc etc
@@chanang453 Why such hatred? Italians, Jews worked together and the Italians would be nowhere in that era without the Jews. And the Jews were helped by the Italians. Lansky helped the Italians to create a proper structure and to cooperate with each other and make money instead of killing each other. Then you had idiots like Gotti knock them back to the stone age.
Lansky and all the great leaders became what they were because they delivered value.
@@MarcP5267 I was there several times in the 70's, and also the Saxony. Would've been cool to meet him.
Thanks for bringing us an interesting window into the past.
Wow. Surprise guest on this one. Wasn't expecting that!
Harvey kietel aged perfectly into the role. Great actor! Thanks again Michael!
Thank you Mr Franzese, You've educated me to a point that I've been able to take a step back, look at myself to rebuild, have my partner & little girl back in my life, to believe in myself more to be a better man. Bless you sir. Thank you.
Good for you man. Michael helps more people than he realizes. Mr Franzese is a inspiration!
Just when I thought these sitdowns couldn't get any better this happens actually sitting talking to Meyer lanskys grandson epic
Really great stuff Michael... it's amazing that there's only a few around that can give us a glimpse into the past... and you deliver it better than anyone... thank you...
Dont forget THE Penalty (1920) with Lon Chaney Sr, boss. Its a forgotten classic that deerves your watch and review. Its literally a pre prohibition mob film. Amazingly, a majority of those scene locations still exist in San Francisco.
Michael, is it strange that I'm obsessed with the OGs? In a world of crime they had honor......much like you Michael. Some of them like Meyer Lansky and Aniello Dellacroce just had a presence that commanded respect. I doubt that's the case in the present day Mafia.
Thank you for keeping them alive and in our minds. I feel that no matter what their business was, they need to be remembered. This video does a great job. Well done, Michael.
Excellent conversation, thank you Michael
Bugsy and Meyers restaurant is amazing! One of the best steaks in Vegas. I love how you have to work through the Deli to get to the restaurant. Reminds be of the Godfather 2. Great interview Michael. Please keep it up!
ML2 is an awesome guy-heâs here at the Red Rock casino all the time.
He doesn't seem to more about his grandfather than people who have read up on the mob.
Is he wealthy?
Red Rock is a nice joint.
@@melmc9672 đ€·ââïž he never offered to buy me a drink
Good movie, good interview! Love the part of the interview when he said his grandpa told him"write a few letters, read a few good books & have a few good friends."đŻđ„
This is exciting! God bless you sir!!

Hey Michael, please make a movie review "THE MANY SAINTS OF NEWARK" when it get out, have high expectations of this one and I have a feeling it wont let me down! Tony Soprano played by gandolfinis son, its gonne be incredible.
Yes!!!
Iâm excited about a sopranos movie prequel
NO!!!!
If this one doesnât put asses in theater seats you might as well give up on people going out to see a movie
I don't want to see or hear a review about make believe fictionalize characters.
I want to hear or see reviews about real people.
Fascinating interview Michael. Thanksđ
I just realized this is the Meyer Lansky II from Deadliest Warrior fame đ you can see him tear it up in the Jesse James vs Al Capone episode. Amazing
Mr. Mike,

@@Guillermo_Carratero Not bad. Although I think this went over a few of the viewers heads.
Mr Franzese, only been subscribed with you a couple of days. I have watched a couple of interviews but i love your respect for the people you knew and talked about i will watch a lot more especially the Mob Mondays...
Meyer LANSKY was born in Poland and when asked always referred to Poland as his place of birth.
Michael another great & "Unique" sit down and what a pleasure to see the grandson of Lansky who knows a lot about his grandfather, just as you know things about you Dad "Sonny", that you have told us about Michael. This is another Grand Slam and home run. See you Thursday Michael during the sit down!
Wow..Very Interesting Sitdown!!!Thanks Michael!!!!â€
Michael This was a wonderful episode of your showđȘđ€
Love what you doing Mike
got so much love for you michael! great stuff every time! sending support from the philippines!
Another solid sit down! Very informative!
Iâd love to hear more with Mr. Meyer ll. A long sit down would be awesome!
Mob Movie Monday with the grandson of Meyer Lansky, that's amazing!
Interesting insight into Meyer Lansky.
Couple of insights.
I read that Lansky lived in a suburban area of Miami as oppose to living in a gated mansion.
Did the movie show that?
Lansky didn't go to the temple. But rabbis showed up at his death bed.
That is strange to me.
Finally have the time to finish listening to this program. It was great
best channel on CZcams - amazing review & interview
I really liked the portrait of his grandfather in Boardwalk Empire. Iâll have to check this movie out! đŻ
Portrayal *
Thats all I know of him. I'm guessing his partnership with Luciano and working under Torrio were accurate? đ€·ââïž
Yeah so did I...it was a very subtle performance...he didn't shout to make himself heard ...and always seem to be trying to reign lucky in...telling him to keep a cool head .
The guy in the comment is a pedantic prick ..he knew you meant portrayal so he didn't need to be a smartmouth....or as we say in the UK.." no one likes a smart arse "
I can only imagine what it's like being the Boyfriend of one Michael's daughters, Imagine the Intimidation "You do anything to my Daughter I'm going to make you disappear"
It would be like that country song
"doesn't matter if you get her home a couple minutes after curfew I'm going to be up cleaning my gun anyway"
@@chipsthedog1 lucky for him,heâs a felon and not allowed đ«,someone in the household has one though,I bet .
@@Rtie189 that's like saying there are no drugs in America as they are illegal. đ
Iâm watching that tomorrow! Thanks so much for the review!
Wow a really interesting interview and movie review. Nice one Michael. Greetings from Cyprus
Iâm really liking that shirt. Great shade of green.
Happy Monday Michael Franzese. Thank you for another Mob Movie Monday
Thank you Don Michele wow you brought his grandson very very interesting I will watch the movie again Grazie
Harvey Keitel is perfect for this role. Harvey did such a good job in the Irishman as Angelo Bruno....I didn't know Harvey Keitel was actually Jewish until researched him. So this role is probably like a capstone for him in Mob related films. When you think famous Jewish Mobsters, you think Rothstein, Sigel and Lanksy. Oh yeah and Dutch Shultz too.
Lepke
@@codylupul5608yeah I think lansky and lepke
What about Greesythumbs?
Isnt Dutch Schultz. German and jewish
@@germannproud8503 he is isn't that a hell of a combination
Good to see another video from you Michael keep up the good workđŻ
I watched the movie Michael and I have to say your review is what sold me. I didnât even know this was out yet but thanks to you I was able to hear a great synopsis of a historical figure from that life. Peace n blessings.
I find you and your videos very inspiring Michael...Looking forward to the movie..
Thank you, Michael. My people were toughguys too. Much respect from Vegas.
IMO, Meyer was thee most accomplished American gangster of all time. He thrived in an Italian dominated underworld and made it to the other end of life with his money, freedom and dignity.
He was successful but Carmine Galante is often overlooked as a successful gangster. His net worth was estimated at almost $15 Billion
@@BostonsF1nest Galante got clipped, Lansky didn't. Meyer didn't have the leg up made guys did, yet he managed to thrive in that world.
lol and how did it end for Galante?
@@MichaelJeffers75 Iâd say Frank Costello was more accomplished than Meyer Lanksy
@@BostonsF1nest Frank Costello was a made guy and he threw in his own towel like Torio when the going got tough. Costello is a poor example, Gambino would have been a better example, but he too was a made guy and made guys have that advantage, one that Meyer was never given.
Lansky" one of the originals đđ very good work Michael đ
Great discussion & video đ
Harvey Keitel: one of the greatest actor of all time
Great interview very interesting . Cant wait to see the movie.
Great show again!!!!
Mike. You broke records. Here on the tube. You. Been on here. 3 years and knocking. On the door of a. Million. Subscribers. . đđ
Interesting review, Michael
Really looking forward to the next review of âMaking of the Mobâ
Thanks for another fine vid, Mr. Franz!
Love this content God bless you Michael Franzeseđ
Thanks for reviewing this great film. Lansky was my favorite and after this film I love him even more. It is always good to learn what is real in film and what is not. Thanks again.
Great episode! I love hearing from relatives of the old skool mob guys.
I really enjoy your program because it makes me feel closer to my deceased father and 8 uncles. Mob or not if youâre Italian you have a lot in common.
Hope you come to Pennsylvania soon!
Hi Mr. Franzese, this was Really Great. I plan to check out the film also. Wanted to say that your background for this video is Beautiful along with your green shirt. I always Appreciate your POSITIVITY. Hoping you Wife, Daughters, Sons are ALL VERY WELL.
Great interview
You always make the message in the story bigger than the story. The message in a story is what affects people emotionally. Very good thought questioning.
