- Fletch revisits Deniliquin and one of his all-time favourites The Depot Historic Collection. Where there has been a cool new addition in the form of The Cruzin Diner, it's a step back to the good old days of the 50s & 60s where particularly in the US, the diner culture was a part of everyday life.
Now you can experience it all right here in Deni. With a menu of classic American diner food together with some Aussie favourites. In an authentic retro diner time capsule, with a perfect combination of classic cars, food and music. A beautiful tribute to the era and another excellent tourist destination for Deniliquin in NSW.
The word is out that Fletch is in town at the Depot Historic Collection and motoring enthusiasts turn up for a chat with their favourite cars in tow.
Baz with his 34 Hot Rod that he has owned for 28 years, it was pretty rough back then but looks the goods today with 455 Pontiac V8 upfront.
Then Steve, with his mate Stu's 68 Dodge SuperBee muscle car, this is a beautiful example that boasts a matching engine number, which is very rare with these cars, that generally have had several engine swaps overtime.
While the Cruzin Dinner is a significant new addition at the Depot, so are several new cars that are now on display. John talks through three of the latest additions, an HK Monaro that is in original condition and owned by a production line worker at the Holden plant, at the time. Next is a car from the US, a 1946 Buick Super Eight convertible, one of the first new models offered by Buick post WW2. And lastly a 1934 Rolls Royce 20/24 with Park Ward Coachwork that underwent a full-body restoration in the 90s. These great additions to the Depot Historic Collection and the new Cruzin Diner are now even more reason to head to Deniliquin when you get the opportunity. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
When we can travel our country again this town and The Depot are on my list😊
Another great episode Fletch. Looking forward to a trip to Deni & visit these two places.
Once they lift these crazy lockdown travel bans I will be heading up to check out this wicked diner ...
My father (dec.) used to frequently test the EJ Holden at the GMH Lang Lang course.
He used to say that the DuPont paint used on the EJ body was of excellent standard.
This was very interesting, thank you from South Africa
I think I need to go there maybe next year when all this rubbish is hopefully over
And we can travel in our own country again 😍😍👍
Hi mate nice old car
Miss my mates there
Original 6cyl HK Monaro would be very rare , most would've been converted into V8 GTS replicas over the years . Great museum/diner , would love to visit someday , cheers from Mackay QLD 🍻
Great episode Fletch. Appeals to the ordinary bloke who remembers these cars when they were around.
Just one question: Why is the Spirit of Extacy on backwards?
Greetings from the international space station!
Gidday Fletch ))
Thanks Fletch. I hate advertising, But when I return to Australia . I will visit Deniliquin. One thing I hate, as an Aussie Ford man, is, putting a GM in a Ford. You never EVER see a GM in a MOPAR.
Hare Krishna
Twelve minutes of advertising and then the car content actually starts.
Thought l was going to watch a car show, turns into a paid sponsors rolling add. Lost me!
