I keep saying this every patch Pot gets buffs, but i really think this time around he is quite good. Giving him access to his win condition more often while having system mechanics changes benefit him is really big.
The hammerfall changes really changes the risk reward dynamic. The the punish for blocking was typically getting 2k > 2d, but now pot gets a knockdown when it works. Besides the change to the move itself, there is value in the respect that people will have to give it.

I've just done some testing as a scrub and one of my favourite details is that now HPB can catch the 6P launch. This makes mindless pressuring Potemkin even more dangerous. Previously you could combo that into either Heat Knuckle or Heat Tackle, but suddenly Buster opens up a whole new threat to what was already one of Potemkin's most reliable defensive options (I mean, it's mostly that and Mega Fist so not a lot of competition but, still). HK is still a valid option for using the tension (otherwise, Tackle is probably what you want so you can have some actual Oki) if your back is to the wall. You can Red Roman Cancel Forward from the Knuckle, 6K underneath, c.S, 2H, Mega Fist to splat, 6H to break for a good chunk of damage and Postive Bonus from a defensive position but the threat of an HPB.... oh yeah, that's so juicy There's also now the opportunity to dump the extra meter if you happen to have it during any Giganter combo and... while a rare situation, that is an hilarious amount of damage you can get from confirming a counter hit from 5H or a sweep So yeah, even if you're a scrub, there's some low-hanging fruit you can partake in, it's gonna be god times indeed =3
I mean, you can still use the wall combo of "HPB," but the opponent's HP has to be a bit short. And like you said that if the player who uses Potemkin's "HPB" early will not get a positive bonus. So it's best to use like "Gigantor" and then do it normally than just wasting 100% of tension to do so.
Hammerfall gives an autotimed safe 2S on grounded midscreen hits with whiff 5P5P (or neutral jump if counterhit) I am a floor 10 scrub so idk if this is actually good but it FEELS good
I wish it were easier to do kara back mega fist, or that forward megafist gave a bounce too, given I can never do the kara 90% of the time and get kara pot buster instead. Then again, i main Nago and Slayer and never bother learning the dash cancels there cuz they aren't really needed. I just enjoy Pot and hope Tager comes back in a new Blazblue game soon.

Oh man isn't it so funny how zato was the undisputed bottom one character and he got the least substantial changes? isn't it so cool how Eddie's movement speed barely matters and the teleport is more useful for the full screen situations that are way too risky to get into anyway The burst changes are a good buff but it's not like they can't just burst him when his gauge is low like you do to NAGO

What combo would you go for when punishing a DP mid-screen? I always go for counter-hit close slash -> garuda -> buster but I feel like there are definitely combos that do more damage… maybe starting with counter-hit 2H or something?

It's 100 damage by itself, but then defense values and guts will come into play and increase/reduce it.

The flash was never relevant to Heavenly PRC because if you see the flash, you're already too late.
