Love that you're getting into it! It's intimidating because there's so many leagues and players but the tournaments they have are some of my favorite sporting events that occur. A tip would probably be to focus on 2 things, the national team games like the tournaments going on now, and then one league of your choice, either the MLS or epl. The premier League definitely has more notable players but MLS is so close to home and more American players.
Hee chan is a great player but closer to average in the epl (best league in the world, arguably). But he's popular because he's a spark plug and I think people do you for the Asian epl players more because there aren't many of them!
