- With the recent emergence of ChatGPT and other AI technologies, we have entered an era where even the general public can utilize AI. Artificial intelligence is now referred to as digital intelligence and is leading the digital age. As AI has advanced, robotics technology has also developed alongside it, opening up the era of smart robots that go beyond service robots and autonomous vehicles. However, just like the two sides of a coin, we cannot ignore the potential risks and concerns about the future of human rights that have always accompanied the development of cutting-edge technologies.
One of the primary concerns is whether human control over AI is truly possible. This is because we are entering a time when we need to prepare for the risks that may arise from improperly designed advanced AI. Rather than rushing to implement measures to prevent the dangers of AI that could lead to the downfall of humanity or the emergence of a dystopian world, we should take a step-by-step approach and carefully establish countermeasures.
During the stages of technological development, it is crucial to transparently develop technologies following the spirit of OpenAI and exercise control over their purposes of use. Efforts should be made to promote sharing and an open policy to prevent the concentration of technology. Additionally, it is necessary to establish national safety measures that minimize the blind spots in services in the era of AI robotics.
