Ive thrown a lot of money on my Hornet. I have multiple body shells with different designs, a hobbywing max 10 system, an aluminium chassis, and aluminium oil shocks. And i bloody love it
Love your videos. Thanks for making them. When it comes to the cars running, it would be cool to be able to hear them. Whenever the music starts up I either turn the volume all the way down or skip to the next video. The one thing everyone that watches the videos has in common is they came here to watch rc cars. We all might like different music, but we all love the vintage Rc’s. It’s not that I don’t like the music, I would just like to hear the cars running. Thanks again for making the videos.
I don't normally don't come back and re-play videos. Your's is the aception. Love the home track. Wish I lived next-door. Oh wait! Then we would have to double the size.
Awesome video man! I bought a used hornet from a guy on Facebook.I ripped out the old mech speed control and replaced it with a 60 amp Hobbywing and savox servo.Mine turns on a dime and it’s just a fun little car.Love the backyard track man.I just subscribed :)
After owning a toy grade Radio Shack dune buggy, my dad got me for Christmas when I was a young child, which only had one rear driven wheel, no suspension, could only be driven on smooth level surfaces, was slow as hell, and went though regular batteries pretty quick, I lost interest in RC cars. Fast forward a few years later to the mid eighties, when I was a teen, an episode of Punky Brewster my younger brother was watching caught my eye, and interest, as the main character got a Tamiya Frog for her birthday, and she ended up racing it at a small track in her neighborhood, against other kids with Tamiya RC vehicles, one of them a Hornet. Unlike my previous toy grade RC, these Tamiya buggies I was watching on the show were a lot faster, had real working, though kind of crude suspension at the time, could go over rough terrain, and jump. I was immediately hooked, and dreamed for a long time of getting into RC cars. The only thing that prevented me from taking the plunge at the time, was I enjoyed, and was hooked on video games too, and wanted a Sega Genesis, so in the end the Genesis beat the Tamiya buggy for my minimum wage dollars I was making at McDonalds. Fast forward again to the mid 2000s, and I had the income to take care of my necessities, and have some fun also, so I got my first RC car, a Traxxas T-Maxx, which was followed by an Axial SCX-10, SCX-10II, and finally a Tamiya Hornet. While not nearly as fast, tough, and not the advanced suspension the T-Maxx had, it was still a lot of fun, and still is, as I still have it, and the SCX-10II, along with a Red Cat Racing 64 Impala lowrider.
Mate like what you did with your hornet-mines the original colour but I must say it looks great what you did-I subscribed to your CZcams channel-Thanks for sharing this video-much appreciated!
Another great track video. Here's an idea, it would be interesting to have a shoot-out between similar vintage cars like the frog/hornet. Obviously the driver would make the most difference, but you could swap after 5 minutes or so and then each give your opinion on pro/cons.
You're absolutely right. This is my friends track and we are establishing race classes....Monster trucks, classic buggies, 4wd buggies etc... but to make it fair, eventually, we are going to run the same motors and batteries. I think we might even get lap counters..... Plenty more action to come!
Those front shock towers thought??? I went through about 20 chassis in the 80s. I wish they would have made them bolt ons on the reres. Still a great fun starter buggy. Still loving your Buddies back yard!!!
It really is. I do not like the black on it and I love this blue. Think its Tamiya Brilliant Blue. Not sure the number. But I like it way more. I am a fan of box art but every now and then I'm not and this is the perfect example. Thanks for the comment.
Hello good Sir. Sorry if this was asked or talked about before but may I ask where you got that beautiful picture of Vanessa's Lunchbox you got framed in the background? Thanks
Wonder who is offended when seeing a none black collor Hornet, or offended by listen to someone that like other collors, has a big mental purist problem. Love the blue collor :)
Great vid 👍🏻 can I ask where you got the wheels from? Seen them on Ebay from South Korea but just wondered if you got them elsewhere. Fancy a set for my grasshopper.
Cheap easy rear suspension mod to tame the bounce a bit: www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/75121-hornet-rear-suspension-mod-no-3rd-shock-needed/
I stopped buying HW 1060s because bad quality control. Bought them from RCMart and they are genuine ones. I still have one unopened and we'll see if it works properly. 🙄 Imo 1060 is overrated for what it is.
Very good Hornet 🐝 and Backyard!
great backyard track!
Thanks

Sounds like that would be a rocket. The hornet is always fun and is one of my fav's.
@RCRetro it is a rocket, really fun to drive, gets good air time too haha
A cool Hornet with a Soundgarden soundtrack. Nice one
Cool backyard track.

It should be that mellow disco/elevator music from the original hobby store promo videos.
Classic kit. That backyard track looks awesome as well.
Great looking car! or should I say, Awwwwesome!
The Hornet such a BEAUTY!

Awesome 😎 I took my Grasshopper2 out Today & What a Blast I Had 😎👌🏻
Btw a realy nice back yard track you have.
Goran Oieras thanks. Although it is not mine. It is my friend Harry’s track. Great little design of his to maximize the space in his back yard.
Still need to add a hornet to the collection. Loving my rising fighter right now though 👍
The Hornet with Rusty Cage as the theme. Good stuff. 👍🏻

That was awesome I would like to see the Terra Scorcher ripping up the track like that.
Terra scorcher vs turbo optima perhaps 🤔
Terra Scorcher v. Turbo optima will happen!

This ari we can do!

I broke my shock tower on the first little run in the house (re-re). GUTTED. At least the chassis is a cheap replacement item
Haha the run after the car shots came out awesome
Looks like a fighting buggy box art
Performs Nicely 😎👌🏻
Love your video man , im new to the game, just finished building mine but having a bit of a headache with electrics I guess that's half the fun .
That Suspension... 🤓😅
Hello. What's the best the hornet or the grasshopper 😁
Save your fancy colors for another abomination, fix the Hornet lol also great video, loved it
My 30 year old hornet is the same colours lol nice having something different

@@RCRetro yeah, your welcome 😁
My batteries sucked. Had to charge them all the time lol. Loved it anyways.
Fantastic video brother! What battery were you using? Awesome Classic buggy, and awesome soundtrack 👊🏻👊🏻. RIP Chris Cornell - one of the greatest.
Hello good Sir.
Sorry if this was asked or talked about before but may I ask where you got that beautiful picture of Vanessa's Lunchbox you got framed in the background?
Thanks
Forgot to say, very nice track video with The Hornet 🙃 What shock oil do you have in it?
Where did you get those rims?
Wonder who is offended when seeing a none black collor Hornet, or offended by listen to someone that like other collors, has a big mental purist problem. Love the blue collor :)
put the grasshopper rear gearbox mount in and then msc in then a 550 motor in should kill that track lol
Great vid 👍🏻 can I ask where you got the wheels from? Seen them on Ebay from South Korea but just wondered if you got them elsewhere. Fancy a set for my grasshopper.
The Paradox thanks. That’s where I got them from. Overseas. Took a while to get to NY.
Hi friend! Are you a buggy mania? Hornet is good car!

Bonjour pourquoi ma Hornet fait un bruit bizarre quand elle roule

You move your hands WAY too much when you speak.
