I think this video is what is making me choose to use the atomos recorder over Blackmagic recorders. So difficult to find information on lower budget solutions for multi cam and time code set ups. For a growing production company I'm getting multi cam requests a lot and just finished production on a reality show with 4 Panasonic hyprid cameras and we used plural eyes to sync everything, nightmare. Thanks for this thorough run down !

I finally invested in a few AtomX Sync modules & an UltraSync Blue for our production company and it's hilarious how excited I am just to have perfectly synchronized media to edit with! lol Now to find out if I can sync with the Rode Wireless GO II systems.

    • @mjscpr
      @mjscpr Před 2 lety +1

Not sure w the Rodes, but the BP TRX from Deity work fairly well. You have to input TC via audio (3,5mm), which you can do with the Ultrasync ONE. The Ultrasync ONE communicates via 3,5 audio + RF, the Ultrasync Blue can communicate in Bluetooth and RF (and thus bridge the two). If this is any help.

does atom x sync generate a genlock signal? if we have an external genlock signal generator like aja gen10 and connect it to bgh1 then does atomos ninja v receive that signal or just apply it's own signal to the video? farther if we send atomos video through sdi module, does the genlock signal from camera to atomos ninja will be send through sdi?

Ok its been a year and. I have a gh6 on rs3pro w lidar, hollyland 4k w shogun connect. From gh6 5.7 60 rec raw hdmi to input. From hdmi out i have hollyland tx. Wirelessly on ninja v i have input hdmi to hollyland rx set to hd 60p . Shogun is client. Ninja v connect is server. Although iam not worried about the hd 60 recording on the wireless ninja i have to have ssd inserted to trigger record on the shogun In sync record control wich is working via tilta rs controller start/stop wirelessly w all control of the gimbal . My issue arised when i added an s5iix to the mix aswell. The s5iix is also setup to record raw 5.8 60p aswell sync config same channel as client. Iam getting a synced timecode across the board. So its not triggering record on the s5iix setup via wireless directors/ monitor control/ninja. Gonna keep working on it🤪! Thought it might be intresting to share.Thank You and Glad to See ya on the lastest Atomos news.

      Hi @ChrisFlores,
      Thanks for your comment!
If you are unable to acquire the AtomX Sync module for timecode synchronization with your cameras and Ninja device, we have a new solution for you to consider. Our latest accessory, the Atomos Connect, offers a feature called Airglu that can replace the AtomX Sync module.
With the Atomos Connect and its Airglu feature, you will have the ability to utilize timecode, as well as RF and Bluetooth signals. This attachment serves as an alternative to the AtomX Sync module, providing you with the necessary synchronization capabilities for your cameras and Ninja device.
By utilizing the Airglu feature in the Atomos Connect accessory, you can ensure accurate timecode synchronization between your cameras and Ninja, enabling seamless workflow integration.
If you require further information or have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We're here to assist you.

      Hello @lichtschmiede.produktion,
We appreciate your inquiry, and we apologize for any inconvenience you've faced in trying to find the AtomX Sync device. We understand its importance in your production setup.
Please note that we have introduced the Atomos Connect, which serves as a replacement for the Sync Module. Unfortunately, the AtomX Sync has been discontinued. However, the Atomos Connect encompasses all the sync features you enjoyed with the AtomX Sync, including SDI 12G port streaming on multiple platforms and C2C functionality.
Notably, the C2C feature allows you to create instant proxies of your hero files, and these proxies will automatically upload to the Frame.io server. We believe the Atomos Connect will provide a comprehensive solution for your syncing needs.
If you have any further questions or if there's anything else we can assist you with, please feel free to reach out. We appreciate your understanding as we continually strive to improve and enhance our product offerings.
      Thank you for choosing Atomos.

It's kind of crapy how worthless the Atomos Ninja V+ is with Atomos Connect and the F6 with Bluetooth if you don't have an apple device. That and the Connect Bluetooth is broken and does not work with with Zoom's F6 (or voice versa both companies report it as a bug) yet neither companies are doing much about. So they made their system that uses Bluetooth so proprietary in order to sell their own timecode devices yet they don't work nor have they actually done much about getting it adopted or even making an Andriod app to help. Hopefully they fix this soon with the Atomos Connect since it has replaced the Sync and hopefully they a android device so it can actually be used for once. That or I need to just get a iPad or something just for this :| any advice?

      Hello GoldenTee TV,
We apologize for the inconvenience and frustration you've experienced with the compatibility issues between the Atomos Ninja V+, Atomos Connect, F6, and Bluetooth connectivity, particularly when it comes to non-Apple devices. We understand your concerns and we appreciate your feedback.
We acknowledge the reported bug and the limitations you've mentioned, and we assure you that our teams are actively working on addressing these issues. Our goal is to provide a seamless and reliable experience for all users, regardless of their device preferences.
In terms of advice, while we are actively working on improving compatibility and expanding support, one potential solution could be to consider using an iPad or another Apple device for the time being if it fits within your workflow and budget. This could help ensure better compatibility and performance with the current features and functionality.
However, we understand that investing in a new device might not be feasible for everyone. We are committed to addressing these concerns and exploring solutions, including the possibility of developing an Android app or expanding compatibility with other devices.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work towards resolving these issues. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help and provide the best possible support for your needs.

Would I be right in thinking that HDMI OUT delays could still result in footage being ‘out of sync’ even between two Timecoded NINJA recorders?
For example, I have a Z6ii & Z50. When I connect them both to an ATEM switcher there is a noticeable delay in the video signal reaching the Switcher over HDMI from the Z50 as compared to the Z6ii. I assume then that while the timecode of the ATOMOS devices would be in sync, the frames of video being associated to each timecode frame would be different. I know that this is potentially a simple one time batch correction in post but I am just checking my understanding here that the timecode will sync the two NINJAS but will not be able to identify and account for this discrepancy?
Thanks in advance & great video!

5:40-you mention the record control. please check this for bugs. when using this feature on the last 2 films, shooting pro-res raw on the z-cam f6, the ninja that is the master creates duplicate frames every 11 frames. our film almost failed QC because of this. Thank you for your comment!
Please note that Because the Ninja V does not have ability to receive RF and Bluetooth signals built in, adding ultra sync one or ultra sync blue devices will allow the Ninja V to send and receive RF and Bluetooth signals. Additionally, we have recently released the Atomos connect accessory for Ninja V/V+, which allows you to include Airglu, which means you will have the ability to receive timecode RF and Bluetooth signals as well as a camera 2 cloud feature!
