I think reincarnation is merely the best explanation we have. I never like to believe anything 100% but the concept of cycles, creation and destruction are much more rational concepts then a start/finish approach to existence.
Humans are merely bounded by their senses, we struggle to fathom anything outside our limitations. I have learnt to accept that, but unfortunately there are others who arrogantly believe we can ultimately comprehend everything with our limited faculty. That is unfortunately the greatest fallacy in modern society. People have gone from blind faith (dogmatic religions) to only accepting the materialistic aspects of science as holding the answers (current or the future), over time they too will be shown their immaturity.

I was hardly 4 years old. I used to say give me a kamandal I'll go to mountain and will do meditation. I was always thinking to leave the house . Finally at the age of 32 I left the home and went to Varanasi. At that time I had become father of two sons. I was sitting on the bank of Ganges. Then it appeared to me that someone was telling me, you are a father of two son. It's your duty to bring them up . Siddharth was a Prince. He had not to bother for caring for his family. Then I returned back. Now I'm 64. Don't if there is leftover.

Every wake after a sleep is reincarnation if the memories before every
sleep were to completely erode. I'm living proof. I'm told I was hit on the head by a passing bus. But I am purely blank about that accident. What bus? what accident? A bus, where, when, who, me? Underwent a neuro surgery?

Reincarnation is not a linear process, one can be born in the past. It's possible one can live two lives in a single lifetime. Its beyond reason.

Every human being is a body + set of ideas + feeling of self.
Body and the set of ideas adopted are different in every human being and creates identity, but the feeling of self is common.
So when a person is "reincarnated" the same set of ideas get associated with a feeling of self.

Sir, I agree with Mr. Lakhani's conclusion that we must learn our religion before we talk about protecting it. The various symbolisms attached to religion, like the narratives and the rituals need to be interpreted with the context they are being associated with, rather than in the literal sense of the word.
However, I cannot bring myself to accept the fact that life extends beyond the death of an individual, be it in the form of re-incarnation or going to heaven/hell.
I must admit that I have not read the works of Ian Stevenson, but based on what research I did on his works, it seems that he never responded to any significant objections that were put forward against his 'allegedly' unscientific approach of data gathering and his interpretations of it.
I am not suggesting that we should reject the thought completely. If proven correct, and accepted by the scientific community, this could be one of the most ground-breaking discoveries made by humanity. But unless it is accepted, we should refrain from quoting his works as a scientific proof of something we are yet to discover.
I must also draw attention to the fact that Acrophobia (fear of height) could be argued to be an evolutionary defence mechanism, instead of a traumatic past experience. Though it is not conclusively proven what exactly causes this phenomenon, there are many scientific explanations, but re-incarnation theory is definitely not one of them. As a matter of fact, it appears that the argument in favour of re-incarnation based on Acrophobic tendencies is a speculative one, rather than having any scientific or rational basis.
The same could be said about the theory that is put forward in this video about child prodigies. There have been studies done on this subject as well and more often than not it is the 'brain' of the individual, which is somehow 'different' from the average brain, that is the cause of his brilliance. Although conclusive evidence that can be generalized for all cases is yet to be found, but none of the studies suggest that knowledge or experience from past life caused the individual to be more prolific or intelligent than his peers.
However, I would like conclude by appreciating Mr. Lakhani's endevours to bring the notion of rationality while interpreting religion. It is extremely important that our society embraces rationality in order to throw religious superstitions and intolerance out. It would pave way for peaceful co-existence of intellectual and spiritual people. I appreciate and congratulate Mr. Lakhani for his efforts.

Memories die with the body, intelligence stays forever. That’s why you won’t remember the facts, but the evolution of intelligence may transfer. Because energy can’t be destroyed. It can only be transferred. Life if an energy can not be destroyed. Just the body becomes outdated over times or sometimes because of malfunctioning.

sir the idea of reincarnation may be counter productive too. if anyone is suffering one may not help them saying it is their burden from previous birth.

Portions of humanity will manipulate anything in order to control and belittle others. Reincarnation, and Karma, have (like Heaven and Hell) been manipulated by the ruling class to keep people oppressed.
Perfect example is the caste system in India. Where the ruling elite used the concepts of Karma and Reincarnation to stigmatise lower castes. What they didn't understand about their own philosophy though, is that within Karma... action AND inaction are as important.
So ignoring the plight of the people around you - or in the case of the caste system "beneath you" - brings about results. Has consequences and ramifications. Regarding reincarnation, there is the possibility that many of those high-caste people were reborn in lower caste lives for their holier-than-thou attitude.
Every action, and inaction, ends in a result. And generally it is only the action that people focus on. Often their own actions, and sometimes the actions of others (they are giving me "bad karma" for instance).
But very few people consider the times when they could have acted to help someone, or better a situation, and they choose not to. Within the philosophy of karma - ignorance is not an excuse.

As far as caste system is concerned, the elite class who claim that they were born in Higher caste because of their previous karma in their previous life should keep in their mind that they would be accountable for their actions in the present life Which is going to decide the fate of their next life.
Karma is not a static concept.
      It is dynamic in nature.
U may enjoy the results of your action done in your previous birth in this life, but U should remember that the good actions Which U may have committed in your previous life is limited only.So the results Which U are gonna get due to your previous good karma done in the past is limited and is gonna get exhausted with the span of time.
It's Just like a Karmic budget system.U earn certain amount of "punyaa"and if U just go on enjoying the results of your "Punnya"This life,Some or the other day,all of the Punnya Will get consumed by U and U are not left with any punyaa.Punnya is Just like the Invested Karma..
So Serving the poor and the lower caste is regarded as a "Punnya" activity or pious activity in the real Hindu scriptures. So, the one who is exploiting the lower caste are actually earning "Paap"or sins and also exhausting the good results they are experiencing at this present moment. So they would be accountable for the present action which They were committing in this present life for their upcoming future life.
In this way Karma and reincarnation work out.
In modern society,I think The one who would do sinful activities is not gonna get birth in SC or ST family.Because in today's society The SC and ST family are enjoying many services better than the Brahmins due to reservation system.
May be they should be getting birth in Middle East to suffer for their previous karma.but we can't be judgmental about it.Because the way Karma works is Very complex as stated in bhagwat Gita.
However it's Overall principle ie.Do good to get good Will always remains it's primary message.

it's just common sense and logic. I mean how could reincarnation not exist to my mind it is quite hard to believe that a baby is existing for the first life from a eternity of void. I mean they know so much they have clearly lived before. There is also evidence of people getting injured in the brain and spontaneously being able to speak different languages (xenoglossy) and master instruments they have never played in this life.

A few have chance to live two life in a single life time.. first phase is to learn the life ..second phase should be born again from spirit of lord to spread enlightment without thinking he himself as enlighted( Krishna,Rama, Jesus,Buddha,Mohammed,Ramana Maharshi,Adhi Shankara,Ramakrishna paramahamsa, Vivekanda,Guru Nanak, lot of saints from Christianity and sufis from Islam like Rumi) .. a very few is walked over in this world like this ..they never considered themselves has enlighted but spread enlightment .Rest of thing people's interpretation about them in the era they lived.

Christian believe in born from above or born again I.e born from spirit of Brahman( known as atman in Sanadhana dharma)or eternal father or Allah . Hindhuism should also have to believe the same..Quran also says the same..Rest of them are practices to reach supreme state of conciousness. In katha upanishads it's clearly said atman cannot be attained by sacred chants and reading holy scriptures .the supreme one ( brahman neither he( shiva) or she( shakthi) without form )have to bless the one whom it prefers.
There will be clear proof for it if such things happen in this world.
