For context on why the flashback showed Yuuki protecting Pecorine:
It's a flashback to the final battle against Mana in the previous loop Yuuki lived through. As for why it was showing Pecorine crying and not Kokkoro, who Yuuki is closer to in the anime.
Yuuki and Pecorine have always had a closer relationship in the game (and every other loop that they end up meeting in), even being the two who founded their guild.

Canonically speaking, Pecorine is in love with him, bit she has stated that she won't pursue Yuuki until he gets his memories back since she's worried about the possibility of stealing him from a potential girlfriend he had before his amnesia (though that didn't stop her from kissing him on the cheeks and hugging him every time). She even adds that if Yuuki truly wants to be with her, then she will happily accept.

Pecorine outright confesses to Yuuki (and Kokkoro) that she has indeed fallen in love with him after they rescue her from the castle dungeon.
But she doesn't want to go farther since she refuses to take advantage him when he still hasn't recovered his memories yet. She adds that if Yuuki reciprocates and wants to be with her, then she would happily enter a relationship with him (and even though she said that, it didn't stop her from kissing him on the cheek at the end of Arc 1 lol).
There was no wrong answer in any choice. He just wanted to help his friends from this virtually unstoppable evil. Had he known all the answers, he wouldn't be doing this. My boy Yuuki really needs a break.

This is Yuuki's second past where Yuuki met Pecorine, Karyl, Kokoro for the first time. believe it or not. in the game yuuki choose to fight with kaiser insight at the end. Now in the s2 anime, Yuuki chose to (Re: Dive) for the 2nd time. Short story (in the game yuuki chooses to fight with kaiser insight at the end) in anime s2 (yuuki chooses to re: dive a second time)

It was implied heavily in the game that Labyrista had proposed the same options to Yuuki many times and he has chosen the second option more than once. The anime is simply ONE of the many loops that Yuuki ultimately fails in before he starts over again.

The game has implied that Yuuki has picked the second option numerous times after he dies to Kaiser. This isn't his first "Re:Dive", and I doubt the anime's version of the Main Story is the last.

@@metro0612 this is a re-redive, it goes like OG-Game with Yui(restart) then Redive(this flashback) with Pecorine, that makes the anime the 3rd iteration.
@@treestump17 which loop the anime takes place in is hard to truly pinpoint as, again, I stated that Yuuki has experienced numerous loops and died in them. The anime is just one of the loops. Which loop it is, however, is completely unknown (and doesn't really matter).

Seeing flashbacks to the game’s story makes me wish that Cygames made a faithful anime adaptation based on the original princess connect and princess connect re dive because the story is more interesting and more developed in comparison to the anime we got now.
Yeah man, i play a bit of princess connect, but when i want to play it again i found out they're already not playable anymore
@@translator-kun yeah, that's another reason why I would've preferred a faithful anime adaptation: the source material won't last forever. This is annoying because I would like to easily look back on the game instead of it vanishing one day.
It's impossible sadly, if you look the bond and event story, you wold know that it's quite hard because it has a complex story, tbh i'm quite satisfying with the story of the anime, if the anime use the game version it will took an hundreds of episode just for 2 season probably
And this is the version of another yuki choice, if it has same story than it will be no different with the game version and make the fans got boring fast probably
@@azzam6532 I could understand not having every bond and guild story animated because some characters just aren't important to the overarching story. However, it would've been cool to have some for the important characters like the gourmet guild, labyrinth, and twinkle wish. Those characters for example have more bearing on the story so seeing their side stories animated would've been nice to see.
Also, seeing the same story but animated is what I want to see. And there is plenty of anime that follows the same path as the light novel and manga. So I don't understand how it would be boring to see an adaptation of the same story but animated. Also also, people hate it when the anime deviates from the source material like promised neverland for example.

Well, as stated in the last episode he apparently *returned* *by* *death* many times before and if he'll succeed this time or not is unclear. However, after seeing the result of the fight between Kaiser and Labyrista, it wouldn't be a surprise if another Re:Dive happens again imo

In the OG Princess Connect, Yui wished in the SOL Tower during the fight with Kaiser that Yuuki be kept safe and happy, but meanwhile while making the wish, Kaiser tried to attack and interrupt the process but was stopped by Yuuki and ended up killing him in the process.
This resulted in the VR world (Astrum) glitching out, causing a mass memory wipe to almost every person (including every guild Yuuki met in Re:dive except Team Labyrinth), and started the Re:dive timeline with god knows how many loops has happened.
The cause of the loops and memory resets in summary really is Yui's wish that got twisted.
Btw in the OG Yuuki never interacted with Peco, Kyaru, and Kokorro at all and never appeared in the original Princess Connect Web Game. The Gourmet Guild is honestly the biggest question mark as to why they are Yuuki's current companions in most of the Re:dive loops, when even in his IRL self he barely interacted with them. Meanwhile almost every guild in Re:dive knows Yuuki familiarly in some way, shape, or form for awhile in IRL.

I havent palyed the game. can anyone explaine to me yuuki's back story, why he has an amnesia and why a lot of strangers know him. TY
In the game, there are 2 outcomes when they were fighting against kaiser, One is to continue fighting which is the storyline of the game. Two is to restart which is the anime, but yuuki's soul/brain was damaged in that fight so he's always in a blank state whenever he restarts, some people know him because they are aware of the loop.
Tldr:
Game = No restarts, keep fighting
Anime = restart
Edit: He only restarts to the point where he meets kokkoro and others for the first time so there were already people who knew him before that whilst not knowing about the loop

@@v3rtz14 They are stuck in a super realistic game world (Similar to SAO) and they have been trying to defeat Kaiser for a very long time but to no avail. Kaiser is just way too strong and clever

However, I don't know what can happen to them if a Re:Dive doesn't take place after they die in a loop
