Appreciate you sharing this bro! You make it look so easy! I got a 1984 t-top cutlass I need to get my floors done. I got a bunch of small pinholes in mine.

Hey bro, what’s a good starter welding machine to do a job like this?

What’s up bro! One of the MC DIY big dogs asking me a question! I’ve been following your build for a few years now. Your videos have helped me out a lot. In this video I used an Eastwood MP200i welder. A good starter welder would be the titanium mig 140 from harbor freight. It allows you to have more control over the welder. The sheet metal on these floor pans is so thin you should really be welding with gas and not flux core. It can be done as you see here, you just have to dial in your settings just right so you won’t blow through the metal.

Get a scrap 16ga peice of sheet metal, dial them settings in and get to welding. It’s lap welding which is not as hard as is looks and the seam sealer after the welds will fill any small holes you don’t see.
