check the vacuum modulator....

Vacuum modulator would not cause it to not shift from park into drive, rather it would cause shifting issues when in drive

@@subarute9304 a ruptured diaphram in the modulator could allow the engine to suck trans fluid. That might explain the smoke and the low trans fluid

Nah we just used the electric pump to pump fuel into the trucks tank through the cut filler neck
