I think we would say she is an old soul, performing well beyond her years. I've heard her sing in Russian, English, and French. As a native English speaker, I can say she sings beautifully in English with almost no accent (check out "Wicked Game" or "Human"). The biggest thing to me is that she melts my heart every time she sings. For this piece, I may not know Russian, but I can feel the emotion. It is as if I am drawn into a world that she creates with her singing. It's like magic.

One of the things I really love about Diana is that she's just performing the song. It's just her alone in the universe and the rest of the world doesn't exist. She's completely absorbed in what she's doing. The purest form of performance art. Plus, she's so - .... pretty, so charismatic, when she smiles as she sings.

Interesting. I've watched a lot of reactions to Diana's singing and I've noticed one constant. The more experienced the reactor, the more amazed they are by Diana's voice, stage presence. There's an old saying: "When two soothsayers meet in the street, they invariably smile at one another".

As others have pointed out, Human, Wicked Game, Derniere Danse, Blizzard, and Its a Man’s World are all fantastic. But for a better insight into this precious girl, look up her life history. You’ll be shocked and yet amazed how this young woman overcame an abusive early childhood and became the rising star she is.

She entered her first kids contest in Russia where she sang a song that required masterful yodeling.

Maggie, I am absolutely happy, that you start discovering Diana for yourself. And Rechenka is considered among Diana's fans as her absolute masterpiece. The only thing is, that as to voice type she is just a GROWING contralto here, at 14 y.o. So I hope, you will also react to her later recordings at some stage. Diana is a one of a kind, chocolate dramatic contralto now, at 17 years of age. With quite a range, still. An outstanding singer in all aspects of performance. Thank you very much and stay safe.

„Rechenka“/ Little River: This is an old Russian ritual song and this is the story: An orphan girl should/ wants to get married and goes to the little river, the border between the living and the dead, and asks her mother for the blessing (mother's whisper)... The horses stand in the courtyard, the guests are gathered, the wedding celebration begins. In Russia it was customary to ask to cry at a wedding. That should chase away evil spirits and bring good luck.

Dear Maggie, to recap the bald judge is Dimash's partner Composer Igor Krutoy who started this show for children that had a hard life. Diana's birth mother severely abused her so her family took her to an orphanage. The woman in the white sweater adopted her & got her voice lessons to learn how to sing and TALK. PLEASE react to her sing Human and with Igor on piano her sing Tomorrow Is A Lie. After she finished on this show Igor paid for an apartment in Moscow for her & her adoptive family. 🎶👱♀️👗👠👠💧💧

I believe you just listened to her best performance ever... This is pure passion and with her talent, it created a masterpiece. She also sings Édith Piaf as well as English and Spanish songs but singing in Russian really showcases her ability in the best possible way. Other renditions of Diana : "Non, je ne regrette rien", "Dernière danse", "Tombe la neige", "Feeling good", "It's a man's world", "Wicked games", "Human", "Yodel time", "Havana", "Take on me", "Good vibes", "By your voice", "Blizzard" and she has a new song coming out that she will perform in Moscow on September 10 during her solo concert... She is a totally amazing young lady and if you read her life story, specially early childhood, you will see how much respect she deserves after all what she has been through.

I am happy to hear analysis from a professional. It is better than "I Love it!". I hope Diana continues to sing these types of songs. She sang Rechenka beautifully. I was also impressed with her "Wicked Game". It sounds nothing like Angelina's version. Diana's voice (contralto?), mood and setting makes it almost sound like a different song. P.S. I don't do emojis.

I found your channel by accident one night at work. You were reacting to one of my favorite bands, Disturbed, and their cover of The Sound of Silence. It's not a difficult guess but, listening to hard, heavy, and prog rock never exposed me to this kind of music in my life and I had no idea what it was about. My god. The power, the emotion, and the skill. The feelings it stirs... Just amazing. Mind blowing. Hypnotic. The fact that a person singing, even in a language I do not understand, can move me to tears is incredible. Your Lara Fabian video tore my heart out. My purchases on iTunes have sure looked different lately I can tell you that! I guess a person can find a new thing to be passionate about even at 52. I agree with the others that you should review "Wicked Game", "Human", "Derniere Danse", etc. And, they will show you the exceptional young, dedicated contralto with all the amazing tones, composure, emotion and professionalism. But, I want to suggest you also give a look and listen to "Havana". That will show you the cheerful, young, playful teenager that just loves music and life itself. Her beautiful, winning smile is as powerful as her amazing vocal prowess. It's just heartwarming to see how she's blossomed from the wretched, broken, non-verbal waif she was to the vibrant, cheerful beauty she is today thru the love and support of her adoptive mom and the gift of music.
