Is it just me or Gendry has a striking resemblance to Christian Bale
Totally
He does
Let's see Paul Allen's resemblance...
Agree
Looks more like Michael fassbender
I love how Gendry is basically everything great about the Baratheons rolled into one person and none of the flaws - except getting rejected by Stark girls.
he isnt very tall in the show, baratheons are supposed to be tall
actually, they got the same fate too, robert is kinda rejected by lyanna stark, lyanna never love robert, she like rhergar the prince
@@LuckyAJC He’s not done growing. My younger brother was only 6’0 until age 22
Then 22-24 he grew 6 inches
Now he’s 6’6 and 300 lbs. 😂
@williamhermann6635 in the books Stannis is 6'3-6'5 and I believe renly is in the same area. the show just didn't do baratheons justice
@@LuckyAJC Problem is can they find an actor that is tall and well muscled? as well as able to portray such character in the book?
I still wish we got a scene with Jon & Gendry fighting side by side, just like Ned & Robert did during the Rebellion.
I dont. If they put a scene like that in season 8 it would've been ruined somehow.
@@Fartucus ya it would give Jon some agency you're right
@@Fartucus like it wasn’t already ruined
ok show aside, that is an awesome idea for the books. Those 2 characters never interact or are aware of each other, it would be great to see them find each other in the world and continue the bond of friendship between the two families. It doesn't hurt that they are some of the more likable characters!
@@ladydominion8632he means the scene itself
Gendry just shows how truly strong and physically imposing Robert Baratheon must have been. Everything talks about how Robert grew fat and slow, but in his youth was strong, imposing, and fierce. In my head cannon, it probably was obvious Gendry was Robert’s to Ned as he in all likelihood looked like Robert when he was younger. Can just imagine Gendry in Robert’s armor with the signature Stag Antler helmet
Ned took one good look at him and knew it instantly.
Robert was huge this guys kinda tiny
@@cosmickoala6663 Tiny? Actor for Gendry is 5 ft 9, Mark Addy(Robert) is 5 ft 11, not much discrepancy, Mark was just fat. Robert in the books is 6 ft 6, now that's huge.

@@WrangleMcDangle Gregor was 8 ft, Bobby was 6 ft 6. That's a lot lmfao.

He did as soon as a Stark girl turned him down lol. 😅

This was a W for the show. Acknowledgement of the Gendry meme, Davos line “Nothing f***s you harder than time”.
What meme?
......still rowing.
@@davidwallace7232 What does "Nothing f***s you harder than time" have to do with rowing??
Was it? Really spoke to the declining quality of the show that D&D were just throwing memes into the show and it's not even done subtly.
@@unc54 Indeed. They started giving the audience what they wanted. Never do that.
You would think Tyrion would try and sneak around since he was one of the most wanted men in King's landing and easily recognizable as a drawf; but nope he just walks out down a road without looking or caring at all. DnD really made him an idiot these late seasons.
How much Dungeons and Dragons was he playing???
@@iamfighterman9646 I almost had a seizure reading this... Madness. Madness and stupidity.
Imagine a scene though where they let him go thru for either him saving the city during Stannis attack or cause they hated Joffrey and think he killed him and are happy imagine but nope gendry hammer go brrrr
You'd think the writing would have stayed at at least a mediocre level after the first few seasons - but alas, we didn't get that either.
The crab scene is legendary.
New GoT crab scene incoming. Just you wait, my friend. #HOTD

“I’ve been getting ready. I never knew what for but I’ve always known I’d know when it comes.”
Between that and the hammer, it’s clear he’s Robert’s son
If Robert saw that warhammer he would’ve grinned like an idiot and probably say something along the lines of “That’s my boy! Hahaha!”
@@pitbullnamedcupcake8485 then he’d send Gendry to the Street of Silk to pick up a couple whores so he no longer even needs to leave his chambers, though I’m sure he rarely ever bought his whores in person to begin with
@@pitbullnamedcupcake8485Robert clearly never cared for his “kids” when he thought they were his. But I feel like if he met Gendry and raised him he would’ve loved him.
@@jackwilson5164 Cercei revealed that when their first born died Robert raged like a madman. He clearly has a capacity to love but the problem with Joffrey and the others is that being that they’re(unknown to him) pure Lannister. Joffrey is a cruel, vicious monster, Tommen is cowardly and weak willed and Myrcella is probably just a case of him not being good with girls. He would have LOVED Gendry
Comparing this scene to dialogue in HOTD makes it obvious - the characters in the later seasons of game of thrones talk like 21 century people and act like they are rock stars, fully aware of their iconic status.
How is the dialogue in HOTD? Haven`t watched it.
This is well put. They really started leaning into modern english in the later seasons. Author should’ve finished the books before the show started!
@@drachenrecke5090 Very medieval compared to late GoT
This is why GOT is better than HOTD
@@longling194 HOTD is better than seasons 6-8 of GOT
I never noticed the stag on the hammer the first time I watched this.
Gendry is the last Baratheon standing. The last heir of Robert Baratheon and half of his bloodline has Targaryen blood. So he is also half Targaryen and has the blood of the Dragon in him that makes him bring the Fury and Anger.
Not half. One of Robert's grandmothers was a Targ. Allegedly the founder of House Baratheon was half Targ, but that's 300 years before the show starts.
He wouldn’t be standing for long if I had my way. 🤤
sir, this is a wendy's
@@ndantona92 🤣🤣🤣
Technically no. Most of all the lords have relation to each other.
when he grabbed that hammer it truly put a smile on my face.. all I could think about was Robert :)
This is probably the most iconic Réunion between two characters who lost each or who got seperated.
Why is it I can just see Gendry recreating a scene from Robert’s Rebellion here: We have Robert Baratheon standing before Jon Arryn, who is telling him what he intends to do.
Jon: “Robert, I need you to understand. We’re going to war against the King”
Robert: “You want me to call my banners”
Jon: “I think you need to understand something”
Robert: “I’m ready, let’s go” *picks up his hammer*
which book is this from?
@@omermendes34 it’s not from the books or the show. plus robert started the rebellion, he wasn’t asked to join it

The show bringing Gendry back in a meaningful way was the best part of the last two seasons
Why? He didn't end up doing anything
"Meaningful" is a bit of a stretch. The Arya fanservice scene I could have gone without. And the whole beyond the Wall plot was contrived and amounted to nothing.
I do like his interactions, though. Davos, the Brotherhood, Jon Snow, Arya, Melisandre. Strange how interconnected he became with relatively little screen time in the early seasons.
That and Brienne *FINALLY* getting knighted. The last two seasons had a near endless list of issues. But there were a few bright spots here and there.
‘Thought you might still be rowing’
I love how he wields a hammer like his father. I wish him amd Arya ended up together.
I love that Gendry wielded a War Hammer just like his father Robert Baratheon did. I completely missed it the first time around because he doesn’t use it to honor Robert. He uses it because he’s a blacksmith and a hammer has always been his best tool.
Gendry knows everything there is to know about cartoonishly large plastic hammers
It's a joke, isn't it. Ever see a blacksmith's forearms? Not a CZcamsr blacksmith mind you but someone who actually does it for a living? You'd fit three of Gendry into one of them.
@@anneominous7172 Especially during medieval times, Gendry would truly look like Robert and possibly have more muscle when he reach in his prime since he is a blacksmith but Robert isn't and knowing Blacksmiths Gendry would hit much harder than Bobbie B
"keep your fathers name to yourself"
so gendry wields a warhammer with a stags head on it XD
I think gendry is one of the main characters in the series. Why? Bcs he can fast travel in the map haha
2:38 you can’t cast someone like this guy twice obviously the guy who played Ned in the play. Unforgettable face
Nice catch!

doesnt have to be different characters guards likely have things they do like acting or such. Perhaps he even became a guard by joffrerys love of the performance
Hey bro,
may God bless you,

❤
Hey,
what do you mean,
my dear friend?
Ser Davos steals every scene he is in.
I hadn't noticed the first time I watched the show, that Gendry put the Stag insignia of the Bartheons on his Hammer.
"I thought you might still be rowing." 😂 Everyone was joking online because that's the last we saw of him and they used it in the show. 😂
That hammer looks so goofy. Gendry trying to win some prizes by ringing the red bell at the town fair?
“Thought you might still be rowing.”
When D&D traded good writing for meta internet culture references.
I didn't get it
Cersei(And Gendry cause she would've definitely had him killed) is lucky Robert never met Gendry. No telling what Robert would've done seeing they type of son he always wanted.
Gendry should have been king. Very humble in heart but not weak by any stretch. They unfortunately made him a simp in the last few seasons just like they did with Jon.
Like father, like son. King Robert had a preference for a warhammer. Gendry is very proficient in the same style.
Gendry using a war hammer like his legitimate father before him. Gods he’s strong!
They butchered the ending claiming they don't care about internet reactions, while putting 'rowing' memes lol
when he took the hammer i say, god DAMN
The little details about the show that you miss but way too hard to do so - Gendry choice of weapon Hammer, same as Robert's war hammer. DNA really works
That hammer had to be well over 30lbs. God's Gendry was strong
Well, he's a Baratheon. He's born to wield that hammer.
You were supposed to take the seven kingdoms not yeild it!

15 gold coins? it makes no sense no way the average smuggler can pay that much, unless they are extremely small coins
The guards can retire after a few months if they catch one smuggler a week
One of the best quotes, nothing fu%@ you harder than time
Yep he's Bobby's boy
Okay it’s absolutely a coincidence, and there’s more than enough crackpot theories surrounding GoT already, but I just realised that it’s Gendry’s presence in Fleabottom that triggers Ned’s realisation about the Lannisters, and about Baratheon blood. The word Fleabottom is awfully phonetically similar to phlebotomy, the practice of drawing blood for medical analysis. Just a fun little coincidence I’m just now realising years after the fact.
show the full clip!
A skilled laborer makes around three gold dragons a year, yet the average bribe for a gold cloak is 15 gold dragons per man...?
0:11 the meme which we all talked about since his last screen time.
I really wanna see king Robert meet Gendry
I’d appreciate it if GOT came back but would start back at Roberts, Ned’s, and surrounding houses start. I’d definitely would love for the franchise to come back and give us just the adults at their young ages and coming to power stories…
"Safety is never a permanent state of affairs"
Once upon a time my brother told me of his theory that Gendry would fight with the brotherhood against Faegon in the Riverlands and it would be Robert vs Rhaegar reborn in their sons. Nice theory but I think there’s quite a bit of evidence that a lot of the brotherhood, especially house Darry, are Targaryen supporters. And also Faegon is nicknamed Faegon for good reason, we’re basically told he isn’t a Targaryen directly. Thoughts? Could Gendry kill Faegon in the books?
every Spider has a plan,
until it takes a warhammer to the jewels
Gods ... He is strong
Gendry all the way!! 💜
I knew Gendry would be more than happy to leave because kings landing never treated him right since he was born and the Lanisters slaughtered all his brothers and sisters and tried to kill him and even though he never met Robert Baratheon he knew he was still his father and didn't like making weapons for the people who took the iron throne from him and it's even more interesting that he puts his family crest "The Stag" on his hammer he doesn't know it but that's the best object to have hus father with him
Gendry was the fury of the stormlands reborn. He got the best Robert could give him.
Ridiculous hammer.
💓Gendry
The hammer looks like foam and the weight in its swing seems off, even for a baratheon
Fermented Crab... 5 minutes later......Hammer
Truly hilarious scene
Dunno if the show bothered, but Robert also swung a hammer instead of a sword.
Indented Rhaegar Targaryens chestplate and broke all his rips in the process.
I think Robert mentioned that in the scene where Ser Barristan, Jaimie, and him were telling war stories
15 gold dragons a piece is such a crazy amount, that's like 3 years of there salary
You either include the next scene with Tyrion, as it ties up the previous gendry scene very well, or you don’t start including tyrion at all
when I first saw the thumb nail for this I thought the guy playing Gendry was Christen Bale, then watched it and found out that I was mistaken. but he dose look a bit like him?
I was confused when I saw this the first time. I didnt understand what Gendry was doing back in Flea Bottom or how Davos even know who the heck he was. Turns out on rewatch I missed the whole couple episodes where he was taken by the red woman and Davos set him free. Still dont know how that happened
He have valyrian blood as well.. because of his ancestors by father line
His great great grandfather, Aegon V Targaryen 👑
All these years later and im still waiting for my Davos to take me away. I wanna can become Lord paramount of something and im ready to GO.

It could of been so good, if they just did gendry right by having him and Jon being the next ed and Robert but bastards
Is that the actor Kevin Eldon?
Oh, what could have been had the showrunners not gotten burnt out... .
They didn’t even get burnt out, they wanted to stop writing the show because they had a deal with Disney lined up after
(The deal fell through after the reactions towards GoT)
"Gendry kind of forgot he needed to leave kings landing because cersei wanted him dead."
He's a fooking Lannister.
Gendrys character arch ended with him simping for Arya. Shameful. Like everything else at the end of the show.
Can we talk about if it weren't for Sir Davos. House Baratheon would have ended?
Gendry should have been at Kings Landing fighting in the final episode.
Guy was off during season 4, 5 and 6, and he appears in 7.
