Sadly Luke their are so many out there in the big wide world looking to make a quick buck from the vulnerable. Sometimes even the wisest and most vigilant among us fall prey to the very skilled scammer, they're a growing breed. I sometimes have the same feeling about (wedding) photographers having multiple awards posted on their website or portfolio. You know, with the typical Oscar Cannes like flower thingy around them. And the year. Awards mean little me. I look at the images a photographer delivers. At the very best they joined a (small) competition and won, at the very worst they made them up or paid for the awards. I'm not saying it happens everywhere, just more than people think.
Can you please tell us who the book was from, or give us a clue? As a person who has been a designer and a photographer, I have seen what your talking about.
You should put it out so no one else gets scammed. And for the writer to learn something.
