Just come across this. In the picture of boats on the South Inch there's a man with dungarees and a cap. I remember him....he'd call out "Come in number 3" and " Ca' canny laddie". I left Scotland when I was 8 (about 58 years ago) and have lived in London most of my life but still remember the boats on that lake and on the Tay.

Thanks for posting these beautiful old pictures that took me on a trip down memory lane. Born and lived in Perth until I was 9 years of age, then England and then Australia. My dad used to work at the PRI. How times were so different then. Best wishes.

I loved these photos and trying to work out where each one was. Thank you. The only one I noticed was the photo of Campbell Fish, thus image was from the Edinburgh shop. Campbells has only been in Perth for around 15 years.

This was fab, thanks for your efforts. I was especially pleased to see The Tulloch Institute as it was when it was a school. I was hoping I might see more pictures of Tulloch as I believe it was built as a model village by John Pullar. Anyway, Thanks again.

Absolutely WONDERFUL photos!! My ancestors were Donaldsons from Perth, traced back to 1622. According to my DNA my ancestors were originally McDonalds & Macdonalds. I love looking back into these photographic time capsules that you have put together. Thank you for your obvious labor of love. The music is also unique as it reminds me of the 50's here in Pensacola, Florida, USA.

The ariel photograph 11 mins into this video highlighting muirton park couldn't have been taken in 1934 but earlier the reason for this observation is that if you go to the houses that you see in unity terrace you would also see the jeanfield end of the cemetery . My Granny was buried there 1929 her grave and that part of the cemetery would be seen in the photo if it had been taken in 1934.
Muirton park was opened in 1924.
Maybe the picture is a celebration of it's opening

Kacy Watson me too, born 1981 and I can remember it as a far better place than it is now. You only have to look at the photos from the past to see how much nicer it once was. It’s nothing but boarded up shops and undesirables now.

Veronica Pyjko , no it’s actually kinnoul street running into Atholl street. The old St. John’s R.C. primary school would have been in view. Looks like it was before Old Muirton was even built before 2nd world war?
