I used
1 part 80ml pudding rice
4 parts 320ml milk
1 part 80ml evaporated milk
1 tbsp sugar
1 knob of butter
1 drop of vanilla extract

Hello Rosemary after the pud had settled and before the dish was put in soak for scrubbing the next day were you allowed like me to pick off and eat the bits that had 'escaped' around the edges and gone caramelised and crispy? 😇

That looks good I done another rice pudding in pressure cooker Friday. 2 cups of pudding rice half cup sugar 8 cups of milk and small tub of double cream. Some cinnamon and nutmeg. Put it on rice for 30 minutes on low was just right 😀 yours looked lovely too well done xxx

That looks delicious and I do like a rice pudding.
I do one in the slow cooker, but use double cream instead of the tin milk you used, makes it so creamy and then I don't have to soak the rice ❤
Hi Jools, I guess the rice is soaking while it’s in the slow cooker. We always used evaporated milk as a kid. Maybe because we didn’t have a fridge. Rice pudding is lovely isn’t it. We did a bread and butter pudding as well, that was really good 😍🥰❤️😘👍

Could you taste the vanilla or would you use a little more next time you make it? I can hardly taste vanilla sometimes and its really disappointing! Thanks for this I'm a newbie to air frying and I only have a small Ninja that only has air fry or roast..Do you think I could still make it with just those 2 options?..BTW I just subbed to you.☮️
Hi Kat, I could taste the vanilla but like you I love the taste. Be a devil and add a bit more. I think you will be fine on air fry with our settings but small air fryers can be faster so it might be ready in less time. Thank you for your support. Hi Graham and wendy lovely rice pudding mum used to make them in the oven in a big enamel dish one like uour but about 3 times the size well with 8 to feed mu used to put the rice pudding out and leave one in the dish she cooked it in and use 6 kids used to have turns to have the dish and scrape the top of the dish where the skin had been our perk for having the dish .Graham next time you make rice pud in the draw airfryer put thd dish in first and then everything else then you won't have to put the full dish in the airfryer basket. Love to you both xxfran ps I cooked mylamb joint in airfryer oven and use a roaster bag on 180 when cooked I took jtohtthsbag and put it back in airfryer oven for 15 mins to brown the meat

We've been doing some jobs around the house, i said to John what used to take a day now turns into a week, he can't do a lot because of his health so i try and do what i can. I love my airfryer but rice pudding is better cooked in a microwave, it would cook in a fraction of the time and use less energy.
