So that concert at the Red Rocks he turned into a live album called “My Friends Hate Ticketmaster” which is basically him taking a stand against outrageous ticket prices.
When I was in radio, I once got written up for pointing out the ticket prices for one artist. What I didn't know was that it was being announced the next day that we were doing the promotions for her concert. Might have to talk about that in one of our videos. It's a funny story.
*”All my Homies Hate Ticketmaster”
I was there that night. That’s a high I’ll be chasing for the rest of my life.
There's a huge resurgence of this style of country. Pop country has it's place but mainstream has become so saturated with it that a lot of people have been trying to find other things
Just recorded a reaction to Tyler Childers last night and touched on that very subject. Should be up in a day or two.
Your dad would’ve been crying if you weren’t their, he was in his feels 😂. This song is so deep
I've seen him live twice, and he is 1000% worth it!
There is a really good alternate scene to country music right now. Zach is on fire and one of those rare artists that doesn’t miss. Turnpike Troubadours, Charles Wesley Godwin, Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, Jason Isbell would all be great options to check out too.
Btw Red Rocks was amazing!!
Many of those names are on our "too do" list Cody. We actually just posted a Sturgill Simpson yesterday "Life Ain't Fair". Check it out if you get a chance. Thanks for comment and we are always open to recommendations for songs.
Add Flatland Calvary to that list
Burch would love some Cody Jinks
It's not an "alt scene" there is Nashville County and there is " Red dirt music".
Colter Wall, Whitey Morgan and the 78s, Comanche Moon
To you im just a man, to me you're all i am...deep powerful lyrics right there..wqs fortunate enough to see Zach live here in the UK. Awesome
He actually mentions Childers in the opening line of the song “Flying or Crying”. Also a great song you should check out!
I was born in 1975 and have been a metal head since 1982 (Hair, Trash, Numetal, and everything up to today's metal). I love country music prior to country rock, so, I've never been a fan of this genre of country...but this song is beautiful. I'll give credit where it's due, and this one, is beautiful.
Zach was in the Navy stationed in Whidbey Island Washington. He has written a few albums before this one. He’s a great guy with a pretty awesome storytelling ability.
Agreed, his lyrics and story telling are very poetic. I can't wait to do another.
@@flickeringboxofficial love the videos! Thanks for the reply.
Y'all are killing it ❤
Good stuff! I relate strongly to you, Burch. I’m about your age, and I’m a massive metal guy who can’t get away from my country roots. I love the new Red Dirt, Outlaw country movement that’s going on. I’m liable to listen to Slayer or Exodus with Tyler Childers or Whiskey Myers sandwiched in between. Your channel is so fun! Your interaction with Steph reminds me of all the times me and my (grown) kids have our “music appreciation” sessions. Keep it up! 🤘🏻👊🏻
Would love to see some reactions to any of these
Zach Bryan:
Heading south
Condemned
Revival
Leaving
Tyler Childers:
Shake the frost
Follow you to Virgie
Way of the triune god
Coal
Awesome guys! You guys should check out Koe Wetzel. Too high to cry, Honey pain, cold and alone, drunk driving….I could go on he’s freaking awesome!!!! I honestly don’t understand why he’s not played every other song on the radio. Honestly I’ve never heard them on the radio. I guarantee you you’ll never regret listening to him.
Love the outlaw independent country movement right now. There are so many good artists making great music. Give Cody Jinks and whiskey meyers a listen to.
Love your taste in Red dirt country Steph, Zach and Tyler are so far beyond their years. One person you might be missing, I haven't seen you do yet anyway, is Morgan Wade. You have to know who she is if you know those two, but she's the female version of them combined. Burch will absolutely lover her. Wilder Days is her most well known song, but so many more great ones on her debut album Reckless. Cover to cover, no skip masterpiece. She will be blowing up in the next year or two! The Night, Last Cigarette, Mend, Run, Matches and Metaphors, Kelley's Drive, Crossing State Lines, Wilder Days. Pick one or do 'em all, she'll stay in your head for the next several months!!
Morgan Wade's Through Your Eyes....unbelievably good
More Zach Bryan please lol awesome job
It’s a beautiful song.. I subscribe to your channel just a few days ago.. I’m loving it 🥰. Awesome 👏 reaction video
I went to Snowrocks and saw Zach it was amazing hearing Snow in the snow
Stumbled upon your channel. Excited to see where this goes. Im an 80s baby who was brought up on 90s country. I also love rap but some of these TRUE country artists like tyler Childers, and Benjamin Todd are amazing! Would love to see you checked out Hardy "sold out". Hes a two time winner of song writer of the years who recently decided to perform his own songs.
Thank you James and we will definitely add Benjamin Todd and Hardy to the list. We are excited to see where this goes as well.
I’ve been watching reactions to videos I know but this is a raw reaction from me as well… the lyrics “To you I'm just a man, to me you're all I am” is just such an amazing line. That one hit me. Awesome reaction. Awesome storytelling by him. I don’t listen to much any Zach Bryan but now I may start!
Powerful lyrics..probably sums up alot of relationships. Certainly hits home to mine that ended.
Just found out about you guys today!! Subscribed instantly! Loved the commentary, super interesting! Keep at it 🧡
Really enjoyed this video! First one I've seen by you both, the only thing I could say is I would like to hear more in depth about how you guys feel or what you guys think about the music/video! Other than that, I've loved this video and excited to see where you both take this from here! Also I love that you guys mentioned about his concert prices, I would love to hear your conversation about his most recent EP "All my homies hate ticketmaster" where he released an entire concert on streaming platforms and have devoted the rest of his concerts towards lowering ticket prices!
Great video and reaction!
I'm a northern English 'Rock/Metalhead'. A couple of weeks ago i was listening to stuff on my 'my mix' and saw some guy called Jackson Dean, i thought why not i'll try it, and ive not stopped listening since, country isnt my thing but he is definitely worth a reaction if you haven't already. And strangely enough Zach Bryan was randomly on my mix too, so i discovered two at the same time....
This was technically on his 3rd album. He had two albums DeAnn and Elizabeth that were basically recorded in a barn beforehand. This song is on his first real studio recorded album American Heartbreak.
Thank you Tyler, time to do a deep dive on his older work. He is sooooo good.
@@flickeringboxofficial Zach Bryan songs: Condemned, God Speed, Heavy Eyes, Jamie, Cold Damn Vampires, Crooked Teeth, Quitin Time, etc… etc… etc… so many good songs to choose from.
DeAnn was recording in an AirB&B also I believe. He finds any place and just starts recording. Love Zach
Such great song writing. Country is amazing and isn’t discovering great tunes amazing.
he is one of the only artists that doesn't blow his tickets out of the water he is very passionate about having people be able to see him
Zach Bryan will write and drop a song out of nowhere! He mentions things in a few songs that at the time of release happened a week prior.
That is great to know Brent, we will be on the look out. If you hear of it please do us a favor if it's not too much trouble and let us know...that would be awesome.
Great first video, and it's cool that you have such different musical backgrounds! Would love to hear your thoughts on The Shins take on country music with their original song Gone for Good. Also, The Tragically Hip: New Orleans is Sinking (not the video as it might get blocked), and one of my favourite lyricists, David Bazan of Pedro the Lion: Bad Things to Such Good People. Keep up the great work Steph and Burch, or Burch and Steph.. I forget which is which after that intro :)
This is the greatest song of all time
Please react to more of his songs, all of them are REALLY GOOD.
Oh believe there is more on the Warden!
Gotta do Hardy! Mockingbird and the Crow is a great spot to jump in. Also, A Rock, Jack, Here Lies Country Music, Give Heaven Some Hell. And Zach Bryan is a goldmine! His lyrics are insane! ♥️ Zach is country/Americana IMO like Childers, Colter Wall. Check out Kolton Moore and the Clever Few on with What Brings Life Also Kills.
Quite a few people have suggested Hardy, we can't wait to see that guy.
He’s gotta hear heading south!
On the list Walker, thank you!
y’all should listen to the acoustic version of cold damn vampires, it’s very raw
If that’s his daughter they have a beautiful relationship! Gotta cherish that.
His first album was DeAnn, named after his mom, and was a result of his single Heading South. His second album was named Elizabeth, named after his ex wife. Pretty sure Something in the orange was released in American Heartbreak and was re released as a single.
Hadn't heard that info yet, thank you SF. We have more ZB on the way.
@@flickeringboxofficial Hes really good! My favorite is probably Messed up Kid or Birmingham.
Do some whiskey Meyers too it’s awesome
Oh you know it!
Song grabbed dad he hooked..
The video of heading south was actually filmed in Bahrain
Jason Isbell- Elephant, If we were Vampires, Speed Trap Town
Really would love this done by like Skid Row as a metal cover.
Just from your intro, i think you guys need to check out hardy. Best of both worlds for the both of you. Could start with The mockingbird and the crow, Jack, or sold out.
Also love zach bryan, steph knows good music
Thank you Loyalties, a few others have also suggested Hardy on our other videos. Definitely added to the list and can't wait. That is the hardest part when someone recommends an artist, we want to give them a listen but we will wait to make the reaction that much better. Neither of us are naturally good at waiting for things :)
Do more zach bryan!
On the way BackCountry :) I told Burch that he would love it and his fans would love the reaction from someone who hadn't heard his music before.
You should listen to koe wetzel and austin meade “happier alone” because it is like that 90’s grunge breakup song like “she hates me” by puddle of mud
P.a I AM A BAND PHOTOGRAPHER TOO!!!! AND I LOVE MY JOB!!!! See people reactions to the songs and all the crowds singing to our favorite artist is just too beautiful
It’s from his 4th album
Have him react to heading south when Zach is sitting at the fire singing.
You’ve gotta do some Tyler Childers and Zach’s older stuff! I’ve subbed you guys got a good chemistry going!
Just recorded Tyler Childers last night and will be posting in a day or two. Thank you Brock
PLEASE tell me he’s heard Chris Stapleton.. so many gems to unveil if not! Love what you guys have going on, keep up the content! 🙏🏻
I have heard the name Braxton but don't know any of his music. When Steph gets back I will have her add some of his songs to our list. Very happy you like the channel, thank you so much.
@@flickeringboxofficial trust me, you will be blown away. Chris Stapleton is a generational talent and his voice transcends genres
@@flickeringboxofficial Wow can't believe you actually took the time to respond! Yes please check out some of his stuff and I promise you will not regret it! Keep up the good work guys, much love from VA!
Great reaction. Listen to his cover of 'Wait So Long' originally by Trampled by Turtles.
❤️
Beautiful song but the 90s was the best decade of country music ever!
It's his third album
Thank you AnyOldIron. He is amazing and we are going to be doing more from him for sure. Any songs you would recommend?
@@flickeringboxofficial Yes! could you do "Jamie" by Zach. Could you also try "just stay" (The Texas dirt radio version) by Kolton Moore.
@@flickeringboxofficial Heavy Eyes is a must.
He’s a vet also he served in navy
Check out his song Old Man
Thank you Ryan, added to the list. Since I can't listen to it before hand, is it a cover of Neil Young's Old Man?
@@flickeringboxofficial no it is not. You literally cannot go wrong with any Zach Bryan song either. There are plenty of other artists like him worth checking out as well
@@ryantoothman7724 Thank you and we look forward to all the great new music.
@@flickeringboxofficial no problem. I’d suggest some Whiskey Myers as well. Songs like Stone, Broken Window Serenade and Trailer We Call Home. The acoustic versions are the best
Tyler Childers & Colter Wall “ fraulein” reaction next!!!
Added to the list Riggin. Just recorded a reaction to Tyler, Hard Times and will be posting in a day or two.
he’s had 3 albums before something in the orange
Thank you William. We are going to do a deep dive into his catalog. So glad Burch loved him, thought he would.
Great song you should do rock and a hard place by Bailey Zimmerman
Awesome suggestion, I will add it to the list. No way Burch knows him. Thank you Steven!
Jason Isbel please💜💜
Make him listen to Elephant and If We Were Vampires by Jason Isbell!
Great call, On it! Thank you
Zach is a Navy vet
I think someone mentioned 8 years of service to his country. That is just awesome. Thank you Zach.
Yes he got out of the navy at the end of 2021, which included 8 years of service
One name...Shawn James...you're welcome for it
Thank you Brett, on it!
@@flickeringboxofficial also I've literally asked almost every single reaction channel I'm subscribed to that they please react to the song bad weather by whiskey Myers another one yall won't be disappointed in.
Pleassseeee react to Zach Bryan - heading south!!!
Just put it on the list Carson, thank you!
Ye should check out a band called the dead south, maybe the song black lung to get started. If you like a raspy voice ya can't go wrong!
Please do "motel 6" by River Whyless
Steph you need to dig deeper to Johnny Cash one piece at a time , a boy named Sue and George Jones, who’s gonna fill their shoes, keep digging steph if you haven’t heard the songs, then something is wrong. Also listen to the highway man totally awesome.
should add some gio and the hired guns or Koe Wetzel since burch likes more of the rock side?!
We have some Koe Wetzel but let us know a great song from the other artists to put on the list. Thank you Wyatt
@@flickeringboxofficial Ramon Ayla by Gio and the hired guns!
I love you guys!!!! Great reaction! Do you have a venmo or PayPal for recommendations?? Love it. How about jason isabell cover me up????
Very kind of you but no pay for play here Nora :) We will definitely add Jason Isabell Cover Me Up to the list. Always, please feel free to suggested any song, that is way we are here!
Bailey zimmerman you should check out
If he likes metal, some good country would be from people like Aaron Lewis (used to be lead singer of a rock band) and whitey Morgan
Cat Stevens in dopilgang
Y’all would love Ryan Upchurch
Thank you July, added to the list. I asked Steph if she knows him and she knows the name but not the songs. Is there one you recommend?
@@flickeringboxofficial I love all his songs! I have the lyrics to Empty Grave “ everyone’s times gonna fade away dust to dust and amazing grace “ I sung amazing grace at my moms funeral I was 12& she was only 37 ….. Upchurch does rap , country &rock
Check out Good I'll Do.
Will do Randall, on the list. Thank you
Rap ???? Tom McDonald is super. Independent!!!! Completely independent.
I just don’t like this music, sorry I too am a Metal head.
I Don't Believe Something in the Orange was On His First Album. Heading South & Oklahoma City is 2 of His Biggest First Signature Songs.
Flip box positions. We're not watching for a review of YOU. We want to SEE THE PERFORMANCE... Just sayin'......
